The lady who did my shellac manicure was very nice, but it was probably the worst gel manicure I've ever had. Within two days a couple of my nails had chipped and now just under a week after the manicure, one hand looks horrible. It didn't last at all, much less the 2 weeks it supposed to. It also was disappointing when I booked the appointment and they tell me the price but when I get there they ask if I had gel polish on and told me it would be an additional cost to remove the old polish. Which is fine, but it would have been nice to know before arriving, I would have gone somewhere else where that is included in the cost.
My first haircut with Sammy at East Town. I have very fine hair and any mistake is noticeable, but Sammy is a professional and did a super job. Not many people are good at cutting hair, but Sammy definitely has that talent. The building is an amazing old Victorian and everyone there was very pleasant.
I visited East Town Spa for a massage. I had purchased a groupon for the service. It wasn’t the best massage I’ve ever had. The hot towels were a nice touch and I loved the treatment room I was in. I was surprised when I left to see they were rated one of the top spas in Milwaukee. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t award winning either. It seemed as though the therapist just went through a robotic routine with no emphasis on the areas I mentioned were bothering me. I think next time I’ll skip the deal and go to The Knick, where I usually go.
They require (even though Groupon says they should not) your Groupon Code just to book the appt. They then REDEEM IT even though you didn’t go yet.
Very unkosher.
Do not go here. This business lacks integrity and does not care about the consumer.
I went here for an airbrush tan late Thursday night. It was the most unprofessional airbrush tan I've experienced. I wasn't given a hair net or booties. The machine was having issues at first, which made me extremely apprehensive. The young girl told me she was going to have the owner look at it. She returned and showed me that the spray was even because I told her if it was not working properly, I could not risk it. I should have backed out at that point since I felt wildly uncomfortable, but I let her proceed since I was already standing there in a towel. Nothing about her spray was slow, steady, or methodical. I practically guessed about which positions I should be standing in, and when I told her I wasn't sure if my hands were in the same position as they had just been in for the opposite pose, she just shrugged her shoulders like she didn't know either. When we were done, she patted me down?? This makes zero sense to me since it would make the spray uneven. My hands were still dripping, so I asked her if maybe she should pat those down too, and she just said, "Uh, yeah sorry." While I appreciate the apology, what??? I told this girl I was standing up my best friend's wedding in two days. The best part of this experience was when I went to pay. I am the most patient, compassionate person. I typically wait until later to express my opinions with a business, but something about this place made me feel like I was going to be ignored and brushed off if I waited until later. Boy, was I correct. The girl at the front desk asked if I wanted to leave gratuity. I cannot think of a single time when I have not left a tip of at least some sort, but I told the girl that I didn't even think I should be paying for the spray tan. I asked to speak to the owner, and she told me she was in a hair appointment and that I could email her. I said I wanted to speak to her in person, so the girl said I could wait there if I wanted. I asked how long the wait would be, but when she told me it would be at least ten minutes, I asked if I could just receive a call from her in ten minutes since I really needed to continue to take care of things for the wedding. She assured me she would be able to call me in 10 minutes and that they would certainly be able to issue me a refund at that time. So, I went ahead and processed my payment. Did someone call me in 10 minutes? Nope. I had to call back to talk to a manager. That manager connected me to another manager's voicemail. Once this manager and I connected, she offered me a complimentary spray tan that I refused because I didn't feel comfortable and my event had already passed, refused to acknowledge that every other salon does airbrush tans differently, refused to issue me a refund, offered to "go around asking the girls who told me I would be able to get a refund," and refused to allow me to talk to the owner, claiming the owner is not on site ever. Interesting, since both of the prior girls had stated otherwise. Apparently this entire scenario is my fault because I shouldn't have rushed home to scrub it off and should have given the tan a chance to set in. Yes, I am sure that she would have given the tan a chance to set in if the experience gave her no confidence in how it would turn out and she was going to be standing up in her best friend's wedding in two days. I am in complete and utter disbelief that they are still in business.
Courtney is an amazing waxer! I have been going to her for over a year she is wonderful and quick and most painless wax I have ever had.
I called multiple times to schedule a massage (purchased from Groupon) and was continuously put on hold for extensive amounts of time. Once I was able to talk to a representative, she was rude and argumentative while discussing my request. I was able to get an exchange through Groupon and will no longer be going to East Town Spa.
I had the BEST experience with Graysin who did my highlights and cut. He was so nice and made me feel so comfortable. We made conversation very easily. He is also very knowledgeable about the industry because I asked allot of questions and he gave me advice on everything. I would recommend him to anyone who wants an amazing experience at the salon!!!!
Super cute salon! Receptionist was very sweet. Aaron cut my hair. And it might be one of the best cuts I have ever had. Oh and when he washed my hair it may have also been the best head massage I ever had 😀.
Terrible customer service, the girl Sasha who did my nails was the only nice one there. Receptionist was extremely rude. Scheduling my appointment was a nightmare, when I called to schedule they said the didn't have "time" for a full mani/pedi they only had time for an "express one" yet when I got there at 2:30 for my appointment I was told they didn't have any other nail appointments after mine and they didn't even close until 5! So you're telling me I can't get a full service mani/pedi in 2 1/2 hours even though I was the last appointment they had for the day and the girl had to sTay until 5 anyway! Check out was super slow and then I was told I has to pay tax on the groupon I had bought! On top of all this one of the employees who looked like he literally rolled out of bed sat in the pedicure chair next to me and started complaining about his next client who he knew "wasn't gonna show because she bought a groupon" when I was sitting right there and I bought a groupon. Very unprofessional to talk this way in front of a customer. I would give Sasha 5 stars! but the rest of the place sucked!
Greysin is fantastic! Super talented; fun to chat with.
Unbelievable customer service. I brought a Groupon for my mom for almost $50 dollars. She had to cancel the appointment the day of due to all the snow the lady we spoke to said it was ok. My mom called again and tried rescheduling and they said we couldn't because they redeemed it. Spoke to Sara the manger and she said the same thing and couldn't do anything about it because the lady we canceled from didn't have any record/note telling us that it was ok. Horrible customer service!! Unbelievable that a manager had no control to do anything about it. Stay away.
I had a terrible experience at this place. I got a groupon for East Town Spa for hair cut, deep conditioning & full highlights. I wanted to get a hair cut & ombré. I had to pay additional for Ombré. It was a total Waste. The Stylist Allison burned my hair. She did such a poor job. She chopped my hair so short, & Ombré was not visible at all. A day later, when I contacted for a re-do. The manager Sarah refused to do it, & asked me to setup a new appointment & there will be an additional cost to it. I asked for the contact number of the Owner or upper manager, as she was not cooperative at all. She refused to give out the contact number as well. It is a waste to go to this salon. I am so disappointed.
Sasha did my nails today and she did such a great job. She was very friendly and we talked like we've known each other for ages. She def. made me feel very comfortably. I will be coming back!
