Fod was delicious and authentic and they have snow pea leaves
A wonderful experience overall! This is my second time here, and the experience was consistent across both visits. Their food is delicious and complexly flavored, with a moderate price for the portion sizes. My favorite part, however, is their service, which is wonderful.
Where to start with the food? As is well-documented, their Dim Sum is wonderful and full-bodied. I have to give particular compliments to the pork shumai, which is savory and has a surprisingly pleasing texture. Notably, their Dim Sum in general is deceptively filling. I'd definitely recommend starting small and being willing to get more. It's easily accessible (see below), so don't worry too much about the inconvenience.
They have a good number of vegetarian options. However, I did not try any, so I can't comment on the quality of those. If I ever do, I will update this review.
Their entrees, while not quite as special, are certainly worth a visit all on their own. If you enjoy the rather particular Chinese style of serving hot tea, this is a wonderful place for that, with subtle flavors and beautiful leaves. Though not strong, it isn't supposed to be - that is not the style they serve. It is wonderful.
The wait staff is very attentive and practically omnipresent. The lady pushing the Dim Sum cart is especially attentive, and while she does not speak English very well, she is very patient and helpful. The rest of the staff is also very accommodating, equally able to serve those in a hurry or those who wish to linger and enjoy their meal. They also helped cure my ignorance on certain dishes with politeness and professionalism. A wonderful experience!
My only complaint - for which I'd take off half a star if able, but definitely isn't bad enough to warrant a full star - is that the shrimp did not seem perfectly fresh when I visited the second time, as if it had been either in the refrigerator for several days. It wasn't bad, but it could have been fresher. That said, I am used to fresh-caught and flash-frozen shrimp. Unless you're used to ocean-fresh shrimp, you probably won't notice it.
I'd definitely recommend East Pearl, and plan on bringing friends here all the way up from ATL proper. Especially if you enjoy savory foods, it's with the trip.
Food food food! The food tastes great and there's a good atmosphere. This place is great for big groups and dinners.
Food is always awesome and the staff is great. Clean, well kept up. No wonder it is always busy!
Amazing place to go for Dim Sum. Don't worry about any language barriers either and they are extremely helpful in every way!
Amazing variety of dishes. It's a favorite of mine. Good prices and you can actually eat pretty healthy.
Went for the first time the other day and was amazed at the Exceptional Service and Great food and also the large selection of food. Great for Dim sum!
I love this place 💚The food is always warm and tasty🙂 I recommend to those that like dimsum very traditional way of serving
Great Chinese food. Loved the eggplant and also the pork dish. Delicious food enjoyed by the locals.
Great food, especially awesome dimsum! The staff is friendly and environment is nice. If you live in the area, this is the perfect place to eat really good, authentic Chinese food without having to drive too far.
Best dim sum, quick service
A little pricey, but fun for dim sum
Best Dim Sum in Duluth! But go for lunch skip the dinner service.
They were very rude, I guess they assumed we did not have any money. They asked me what I wanted to drink but never asked my husband. My husband asked for a sweet tea and the lady snatched his water with an attitude, and brought him a tea. I asked for any recommendations, and they could not. We went because the sign said seafood, and that is what I wanted. They have dishes with seafood, but not a seafood platter. I did not want to go to the traditional Red Lobster place. We ordered one thing and left. They seemed to cater to their culture better. If I ever want dim sum or any asian cuisine I would never go here again. Not the place for me. Drove 10 minutes up the street, and found a great place to eat! Great customer service, they're more than happy to take our green money, and we were happy to pay for the wonderful cuisine we got!
