15 minutes from the beach, not a lot to see when walking around the block. Restaurant/bar food and service could be a lot better. Servers ignored me walking in a few times. Had to track people down, didn't know if I could sit anywhere or wait to be seatedstill not entirely sure. Everything was overpriced, even though that's sort of to be exprcted, my chicken Chinese salad was pretty bad and cost me 16 bucks. Plenty of other restaurants within 10 minutes drive. Pool was very small and shallow, located outside. Gym is very small but up to date and clean. Overall, pretty nice hotel, room was very clean and reception was helpful.
I rented the DoubleTree by Hilton. Not wanting to have any issues with hotel quality. Especially on Veterans Day weekend. I checked in late and ordered room service. By the time dinner was prepared and delivered. Almost midnight after finishing dinner. I saw the worn Tub and called the front desk to let them know. At 6:00am a maintenance man knocked on my the door. I showed him the tub that was not up to standard. Plus the worn-out and faded carpet. Didn't like housekeeping wanting to start cleaning my room at 8am. Also knocking on other doors next to mine and yelling housekeeping. Seems like if someone checked out early then go clean that room. But don't go knocking door to door yelling housekeeping at 8am. Ordered a King bed got 2 queen beds. It's not what I ordered. Ugly rooms will only get poor reviews. #206
There is underground parking but if you get there late it gets really full. The restaurant is very good, with just enough options. The mattresses are quite comfortable. No breakfast free breakfast but the paid breakfast is great. There is valet parking. Several conference rooms.
Worst Hilton property experience ever. Tried to call for a shuttle and was left on hold for 7 minutes. Called back and they told me to just take a cab and they would reimburse me. I could have been half way to the hotel by that time. Upon arrival it was not the normal greeting and took 2 people to check me in. The person that was suppose to reimburse for the cab ride left into a closet and did not come out after telling me to wait. Walls are paper thin and I could hear guests next to me too easily. Thermostat was not working correctly and I had to set temp more than 10 degrees lower than normal to be comfortable. Service at breakfast restaurant was nonexistent asked for an iced tea and water and we ended up getting it ourselves. Guest drop off area was crowded and difficult to navigate every time coming or going.
Positives: Room was clean and the housekeeping staff were more friendly than the front desk.
I will start by saying I have come here every year for 10+ years. This year I was very disappointed. The staff was very rude upon checking in, on top of charging our card twice. Instead of $600 being pulled off my card $1200 was!! The rooms smell awful like smoke/moldy. The shower drains super slow and just all in all very sub-par. They have mattresses piled up outside in plain view, when I read the review about bed bugs makes me wonder if that is why.. They need to update this hotel, it used to be very nice. The worst part of this stay was the staff by far. Spend your money elsewhere!
I enjoyed my stay at this Hilton location. I was given a pretty tasty cookie when I checked in, and my room was very distant but also very quiet. The room was pleasant and the bed was comfortable. The shower was warm as soon as I turned it on. TV worked well, and there was an alarm clock available that was simple to set for my meeting in the morning. Hotel isn't located in a great area, but it's only a mile from In N Out!
The lobby is beautiful but rooms are old. The AC worked but it was so humid . The shower is nasty. Water would not drain and curtains were gross. It would take multiple times to flush the toilet. My husband and I checked in on a Wednesday and did not check out until Monday. After two nights I was extremely itchy and noticed bug bites on my feet, wrist, legs, and side. On the morning of the 3rd day I nicely asked that the room get inspected. I didn't see anything when I checked the seams on the bed when I arrived. The nice employee took down my information and made a report. I however never received a phone call as she told me they would contact me to let me know. I had also asked her if everything could be changed out in the room.
I get back later that night and asked the gentleman about the room, he said it was inspected and the bedding was changed. So I trusted it was done. So I go up to the room and see that the bed was made. I pulled the covers to see if they actually changed them (there was a black mark on the old ones) It was never changed out. I spoke to supervisor Francisco. I told him that I don't think my request was fulfilled. He told me it was inspected and bedding was changed that maybe I am having an allergic reaction to something. REALLY? So he gave me a new room after asking me if that is what I would like. It seems he didn't really believe me which bothered me. Also if you order room service and put your tray out for pick up don't expect it to picked up at all. It stayed outside of our room almost our entire trip. House keeping never picked it up.
You pay for parking but there is never any spots available so you have to valet your car. They tell you they will do it as a courtesy which I find funny because it is already paid for. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
Location is great, it's easy to get in and out of during traffic. Parking overnight is expensive. The room was basic, though I was able to request a room with a fridge which was nice. Service was great, you can text a phone number if you need anything. I sent a text requesting pillows and it was delivered to the room about 40 minutes later. I give the beds a 7 out of 10 for comfort but that is because I enjoy a softer bed. They offer a continental breakfast, as long as the staff is paying attention to make sure the buffet isn't running out, out is worth it. They do indeed give you a cookie. I would stay again.
Everything from customer service to the rooms was good. The only complaint that I have would be the hot tub. The water looked a little gross and it was warm, not hot.
The front desk staff was very helpful and informative. They catered to my needs. The room was great. Had very comfortable furniture
Attended a professional event here. Located close to John Wayne Airport and right by the freeway. Very nice hotel. Couple of shops and retail stores right outside. Looks like they offer a free continental breakfast. Only downside is that you have to pay for parking and it is really expensive.
I really liked our room. There are plenty of electrical outlets! Everything was quiet, cozy and well made up. Shower could use an updated shower head - the water pressure was weak while the sink was like a fire hose. The front desk staff was nice and accommodating, and even gave us these really excellent warm chocolate chip cookies. I felt special until another guest said everyone gets them. Oh well.
Their continental American breakfast is fantastic: scrambled and hard boiled eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, fresh fruit (and not just melons, but strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, etc), Greek yogurt, oatmeal, cereals, bread, actual orange juice - they have you covered.
