Apparently there was some sort of flood or high tide that ruined alot of businesses in that area.. However I later on found out that this particular one was closed due some sort of fire.. Ok understandable.. But this is what i don't understand.. I drive TEN WHOLE HOURS to Miami just to be told the hotel is literally closed. No lights on, NO NOTHING.. Just people sitting outside (which the girl was very rude might I add) telling you to go to another hotel.. No explanation as to why just "It's closed and here's the address".. WHY DO Y'ALL STILL HAVE THIS HOTEL LISTED ON 3RD PARTY BOOKING SITES FOR 1, AND 2 WHY DOES IT NOT SAY ANYWHERE THAT THIS HOTEL IS CLOSED.. We get to another hotel and they didn't have any rooms! So they sent us to ANOTHER hotel.. By this time I'm fuming!! The lady was very nice who helped me At the Sherry F. Hotel btw 3 hotels all within an hr of me arriving.. I would never in my life book with these people nor any of their sister properties again! Money hungry! That's all that is.. I wish I could rate ZERO!

Update Today is 11/21/2017.. The lady told me I would be receiving my refund for the first night in 2-3 weeks.. I just received it yesterday 11/20/17.. I took this trip 3 months ago smh.. Please look else where if you're looking to book at this hotel people..

The hotel is horrible ! It does not look nothing like the pictures on their website. It's old with mold on the corners, dirty carpet, nasty bathtub. It was the worst experience I read some of the reviews but I didn't thought it was going to be that but until I experienced it. I don't recommend it. The elevators would get stuck, the toilets wouldn't flush good the pee would still be there after flushing it. The only thing that was good about that hotel was the view of the ocean other then that nothing the balcony was nasty looking too.

20 of my friends and I, traveled here before and after our cruise. Checking in on our return of cruise was horrible. The wait for check in was 7 hours, we were harassed in the lobby because we all fall asleep. To remains you there were at least 40 girls scouts in the lobby and we were targeted. The management team and security was disrespectful, rude and very argumentative. He also targeted another couple cause her legs were propped her gut up on furniture. The rooms are very dirty, roaches were seen and the guys were not helpful to help with our bags, there are a lot of steps and us ladies had to carry everything up the steps. I was not happy with Maria the operation manager. !!!!! I will never partake in the resort again!!!!!!! NO STARS

Terrible experience terrible customer service there rooms all dirty wall all broken and pieces of tiles missing, had one of my items stolen went to front desk to complain about they did not believe me they believe the maid of course sense there is no camera in the rooms. I will never stay again in this hotel. In 4 days that I stay in the hotel only 1 times I was able to open the door. The rest of the time I had to called security or maintained or front desk from my phone to open my door. I even told the manager and all they did was apologize nothing else and she told me why was I never change rooms and I said I don't know. If you read this don't spend your money here is not worth it. Thank god my money and passport I had it on my safe in the room. This hotel is the worst. Another thing when I left the hotel returning my keys took for ever my husband was waiting outside for me and the vallet people we rushing him to move and the worst of all when we first got there they help us with our bags guess what when we were leaving we had to drag 4 big suitcase one with wheels the other 3 did not had one a cooler and a 1 year old child in our arms and even when they saw us going across the lobby with our bags no one bother to help us. Worst service ever

We stayed in a room facing the sea and the view is just breathtaking. The rooms are old but well maintained and clean. Staff is very very friendly. The first night we order foor from their restaurant and it was very good. Despite the hotel being old I like how it's decorated and how well taken care off it is. The staff at the pool and beach was very friendly as well. I will definitely visit again.

    Where Should I Start
1.) Room Service is horrible you have to literally beg for towels. The house keeper was nice and stated they just don't have enough to go around. Absolutely ridiculous considering this hotel holds $400 on your card for insidentials.

2.) This place is so dirty thick dust (example pic below) is on all light fixtures so if you have allergies you will sneeze to death if you can survive the itching from the bed sheets.
The TV does not work at all the closet door is broken, bathroom door does not open properly, door knob is broken. This really makes you question this incidental charge considering everything is already broken.

3.) I sat at the desk / TV stand I had to catch myself from hitting the floor it's so bent up patched up piece of furniture it should be thrown away. After I did an acrobatic hand stand to keep from breaking my neck.

4.) They advertised comfortable beds when I checked in all they had was 2 full size beds.I did not complain but I'm 6'1 my feet is hanging off the end by 5 inches. I believe these are RV size mattresses at best you will have to ball up in a fetal position or sleep with your legs hanging off the bed.

Just don't waste your money here. I could write a novel buyer beware this place is really less than a 1 but you can't give it negative stars.

We have been here 5 days and each day had to ask housekeeping for a bath, hand and wash towels. As you can see from the picture we never had to ask for shampoo and conditioner which we never used. They never changed the sheets just made the bed until we complained which makes me wonder if the sheets were ever cleaned from beginning. I can go on and on but I think you get the hint.

The best part of this hotel was the beach. Thank goodness they didn't have nothing to do with the making of it

Impressive old "grand madam" of a hotel. She was gorgeous in her day, now stately and echoing her former beauty. A ridiculously ornate marble and brass lobby that looks like a black and white movie from the 1930's. They would never build with such opulence and such wasted space today. The only thing missing is mustached waiters circulating with trays of martinis and flutes of champagne, while women in sequins and cigarette holders chat about trips to Europe. It's in the historic registry. So they can't year it down, can't make any changes, and can't add on. It's a dilemma for the business office for sure. The rooms are clunky on some floors where the remodeling hasn't been finished, but it's right on the beach so the view is all ocean and breathtaking. I go yearly to a convention they hold there for the last 30 yrs and it's like a great pair of old Italian loafers, still great looking but showing some wear, and comfortable as hell.
