Like the fact it's close to the airport and beach. Check-in was easy, the two front desk gentleman were indeed very kind. My room was nice, only reason I give 4 starts is because the cleaning lady didn't truly clean the bathroom. I didn't spend most my time in my room, but the hotel is nice and I would recommend it.

Staff was friendly but the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. It is unfortunate how little value you get for your money in this area. The bed was hard and the towels were skimpy. My AC didn't work the last 2 nights (and they supposedly worked on it but the last night the app on my phone said the room was 66 degrees and 93% humidity - miserable). When I complained about the state of the first room they upgraded me so I did have a little fridge but overall I would pay a little more and stay somewhere else - like others said. Also - for the almost 200 rooms they only have one pretty small ice machine.

It was a nice place to stay. Very clean. Free parking. Beds were comfortable. My only complaints would be no soap in the dispensers in the rooms, and they weren't by any means generous with the towels. Also, they charge $2 a night for "incidentals." A little wierd. Otherwise, it was very good for the money.

This place is horrible. The staff are some of the rudest people I have ever met in my life. The elevators smell like a gym bag full of moldy towels. The drainage from the air conditioning system drains onto the walkway in front of the doors and has been song so for so long algae has started growing causing it to be extremely slick. Never stay here once they get your money they treat you like cheap. You have been warned. And if you do happen to stay just be careful where you walk. I wish I had never stayed here.

Checked I the room smelled like ammonia couldn't breath. Then they have me another room. It was ok. Next night. Spiders hatched and millions of them where in the room. They had no rooms but they can put us in a room the plumber had just worked on just for the night. (the toilet leaked and the floor to the bathroom was wet. The old broken pipes from what ever the plumber did was still in the room and you can smell the sewer) Then in the morning no-one knew anything and they asked if there was anything wrong with the room. I explained what happened. So they put me in another room. I went to explain my problem with the hotel manager. An old man looks like he should be in a elderly home. His first words were not I'm sorry. His words are "is there anything wrong with the room now" like I was the problem for there rooms. I will never stay here. I don't know how and corporation or bent can't rent this place and hope that people stay here to be close to there event. Best western is right next door. Pay the extra $10 a night and stay somewhere else. I would show you the video I took but you can only put pictures on here.

Nice rooms, good restaurant options. Pool is nice with a big slide for kids. The confidence is the best thing about it. You are a close walk to universal and can have things you purchase just sent to your room so you don't have to carry them.

After viewing the pictures online of this hotel I decided to try it out. We were impressed with the lobby and pool area, as they were newly renovated. When we got to our room, it seemed up to date however the floor tile was not completely clean, I didn't feel comfortable with my shoes off. The bathroom area was nice. Bed's were not comfortable and there is a loud train that passes by that may wake you up at night.
Personally I would not return here, as the comfort and cleanliness needs improvement. But if you need a quick cost effective place to stay, it may be worth it.response / report this review -

i honestly don't know how many stars to give them because this was the worse option of hotels or as it looks a MOTEL!. it was disappointing to see that the pictures from the website was totally different from the reality..so i'm gonna go back to the beginning with me saying how many stars i would give them.probably 1. also may i add on the fact that we got 2 rooms and they gave us one.and that one was very crappy..thanks for your terrible service, i strongly DON'T recommend this this hotel or.MOTEL

Worst!!!!!! Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever been to. Upon arriving I thought okay beautiful place outside was beautiful and the lobby was amazing, until walking to the elevator. The elevator had a very bad smell, temperatures were over 90 degrees and no air conditioner, the mirrors were scratched with graffiti all over. Upon walking down the hall to my room their floors were all soaking wet from air conditioners from rooms. My room must have been on the very brink of the train track because I got absolutely NO SLEEP! Every half hour trains were passing by blowing horns and keeping me awake! The hot water running from the pipe was absolutely horrific the smell was so disgusting we found it so hard to shower and wash up. Originally planned to stay 4 nights I literally checked out the next morning and found another hotel to go to. This place was horrific!! More so a motel and not a hotel

Not sure how in the world this place is a 3-star hotel. It is more like a 1-star motel disguised as a hotel. The lobby is fancy, but the rooms are horrible. As soon as the door opened, we were hit with a horrendous damp smell. The carpet was sopping wet in some places. The air conditioner makes so much noise that it is difficult to sleep. The walls are so thin you could hear all conversations outside the room. It is so weird that there are some "fancy" features, like a super nice sink. I don't know who they think they're trying to fool. The only redeeming quality is that the beds are more comfortable than you would expect in such a nasty place. My suggestion: book somewhere else.

I'm not usually one to complain, but this place was pretty bad. The staff were nice, but this place is nothing like the pictures posted online. It's almost comical when you compare the pictures to the real place. It's not clean, smells like cigarette smoke throughout the facility (or marijuana in some places), and there were many shady guests. Just not what we pictured. It is also right next to the noisy interstate and train tracks and trains seem to run about every 2 hours including in the middle of the night. The bar/restaurant isn't even open currently so don't get excited about that either. If you're cool with it being more on the ghetto/ run-down side, then you'll save a little money staying here.

I reserved to stay at Universal Palms Hotel since early February at a really good rate that I found online. The same day of my arrival to the hotel I received a call from them telling me that the could not honor my reservation at that price. I asked to talk to their manager, Jeff Martins, and he hanged up the phone on me after asking him why couldn't they advised me before and not to wait until last day, he was rude the whole conversation. I ended up paying $112 more per night since I had no more options but staying there. Also, the hotel is located in a really bad area. I recommend looking somewhere else if you want to have a nice experience.
