It is so much fun to shop here, I want to buy it all! The meats are unusual and rare to find, where else would you find a smoked rabbit. YES they have smoked fish and so much more. A must visit.

Very nice staff, knew the answers to all my questions. Very grateful for the variety, and elk jerky is the best there.

I called and asked if it would be OK to bring a deer in for processing 5 minutes after they closed. They said no. I gave them a call 20 minutes in advance to see if that would be ok and they still didn’t seem to care. That does not make me feel valued. Very disappointed. You should stay open for an extra 5 minutes to try to make a new customer happy.

Great prices on meat that I can trust. Nice selection of deli items, cheeses, snacks, and some of your basic essentials (including wine). Love shopping here for the great service and food. We have used their catering before as well and it's top notch. Deer processing is quick and efficient.

    Hunters Beware!!
Obviously from my 1-star rating I'm disappointed in CSH but I will give no opinion or speculation in this review. My review will contain only facts, the reader can draw their own conclusions.
I have been a regular customer at CSH for years.
I recently hunted in Kansas and harvested a deer. A large portion of the meat was deboned, trimmed, placed in zip-lock storage bags, frozen for 72 hours and brought home in an iced cooler over a 24 hour span. I placed the frozen bags in 1 large plastic bag, I did not weigh it but the bag was heavy.
On Nov. 3, 2017 I took my venison to CSH intending to have the meat processed into their snack sticks. Upon arriving a young employee met me in the store, understood my intentions and took the venison into the back butchering area to weigh. Upon returning he said a young lady would write up my order and informed me my venison weighed 35 pounds. I immediately questioned that total weight and asked him to show me the meat on the scale. I was told I couldn't go back into the butchering area where the scale was located but that he would recheck the weight. On his second return he said my venison weighed 40 pounds but they had to subtract 2 pounds as it was frozen and also had to subtract additional weight for "freezer burn" on the meat, thereby staying with the 35 pound total.
I asked for my venison back and stated I would go elsewhere for processing. The young man replied, with a puzzled look, "But I've already put your meat in our freezer." So what?? For a third time he went to the back and returned with my venison.
I asked to speak with someone in charge. He stated that he WAS in charge, stating his title was "Head ____" (I'm unsure exactly what he said but it sounded like "Head Intake").
I took my venison home and roughly weighed it on my bathroom scale at 45 pounds. I took it to a butcher shop in North Branch, MI where it was officially weighed in at 43 pounds with no "freezer burn". I received 43 pounds of venison snack sticks.
Googling "freezer burn" shows that even poorly wrapped meat (which mine was not) takes months to develop freezer burn.
Fact: CSH attempted to keep 20% of my venison!!
Fact: CSH sells their own venison products.
Fact: CSH takes in hundreds (thousands?) of deer for processing each year (as all hunters who have taken deer in are aware.)
As originally stated I'll let readers draw their own conclusions but I'll bet any second grader can easily ADD the FACTS together and find the TOTAL incorrect.
    Hunters Beware!!

The food was good but both of our taco dinners were soaked in grease. The meat store is awesome with a great selection.

I love this place. It's 80 miles from my house but I love going on a road trip to buy some of their venison sticks. It's worth checking out!

I held a grad party for my daughter at my house yesterday. Everybody raved about the food and I thought it was delicious! And, my crowd is particular about food. The staff at Country Smoke House is great too. When you call them, they are available. No phone tag! They were very helpful too. They had plenty of good suggestions about how much food to order. I also appreciated the disposable chafing dishes which worked well to keep our food warm and safe.

Nice job Country Smoke House! Now lots of other people know your name!

I've loved this place for years and always looked forward to visiting when I was in town. Unfortunately, on my last visit I purchased several packs of snack sticks and when I returned home realized they all had MSG, which is a common cause of migraines, very unhealthy, and a very unnecessary ingredient. I tried eating them anyway and just got a migraine. I gave some away to friends, but saying 'hey this gives me a migraine, do you want to eat it?' didn't go over well. Too bad I will not be shopping here in the future.

I called to order a gift basket for my son who is deployed in Afghanistan. The young lady who answered the phone was so polite and helpful. I custom designed my basket to all the things that I knew my son would love. I received a receipt in my email the very next day showing my gift basket had already shippedWow!! My son received his basket and sent me a message to say that the basket was awesome! The presentation was great and that the jerky and salami sticks were the best that he's ever had. And so agreed by all the soldiers and that he's sharing with. Thank you Country Smoke House for making my purchase so care free and fast. And thank you for making a basket that brought so much delight to those serving our country overseas. I will definitely be ordering again! God Bless and Merry Christmas!

Turkey legs really good. And my dogs love pig ears. But bought a whole smoked Turkey breast so much salt had to though away not even homeless people would eat! Better off doing it yourself. So disappointed. $$$$$$
