I haven't been here in many years due to moving out of town. We were in town and went to see a show here and it was better than it was, and it was my favorite then. I love the bar/lounge! That is very cool! Staff was nice, facility was clean, and ushers actually kept things that way.

Free refills on pop and popcorn, what cpuld be better, wait for it. Recliners! 8 used to sit on the end seat because I have broad shoulders and get crowded easily now me and the family can sit in the middle because these new seats are crazy big and super comfy. And now I don't have to worry about going out for refills for all of us because the walking space between rows is huge too.

I've been going here for about 25 years and have loved it forever. The staff are always friendly and attentative, the bathrooms are never less than perfectly clean and tickets are very reasonably priced. If you go before noon it's 5 or 6 dollars and if you go between noon and 6 I think it's like 7 dollars no matter if the movie came out two weeks ago or the night before. With the addition of the comfortable recliner style seating and with their rewards program there isn't any reason to go anywhere else unless you live much much closer to another theater like right next to another one. We probably see 1 to 4 movies a month depending on the movies being released.

We hadn't been to MJR in over a year when we visited a few months ago, so when we walked in 15 minutes early, every seat had been booked. That's OK, rules changed! We had to wait another 30 minutes to get into a movie with spots that wouldn't be in the very front.

So the second screening that night, we were able to nab two seats together two rows up from the large middle walkway. It was also the first time using the reclining seats.

We were both extremely uncomfortable in the new seats. I don't know if it's our height (5'7-5'9), but the bottom edge of the headrest pillow was at the top of our heads when we reclined, which forced your chin slightly towards your chest. If you have to look up because you're in a lower row of seats, it pains your neck terribly.

Sitting up was almost as bad, as there's zero lumbar or seat support, so your body is forced to sink into the back of the chair. (This is a bit less noticeable when reclined.) Both of us were squirming after 30 minutes and I couldn't stand it, having to keep good posture sitting towards the edge of my seat.

I'm sure this wouldn't be a problem at all if you're in the top row and you don't have to look 'upwards' at all, or if your height is a bit taller (so your head is properly in the center of the pillow) or shorter (so you miss it entirely).

I really miss having a proper supported chair having to sit for that long. I think the recliner idea is amazing, but I don't think the structure of the chairs was taken into account or worse, was skirted entirely for a lower cost.

If it works for you, great! But we won't be able to come to MJR anymore (at least anytime in the next 5 years!), as we don't usually get guaranteed coverage for babysitting until an hour or so before a movie time, and we'd never be able to book a top seat in time to even try. (We try to watch a movie within a week, as we want to avoid spoilers from waiting longer)

Thank you for your years of fun! I don't know if anyone else has the same problems or not. I'm sure we can certainly come again if the top seats are OK and the kids can join/are older.

This theater is the best in the state!! They make movie going a fun experience beyond just watching a film. The seats recline completely and are by far the MOST comfortable seats! The fun promo tune where everyone claps together make you feel like you're at a party. The ticket prices are cheaper than their competitors and they have an excellent military discount. It's More Fun At MJR!

Always have good experience here - love the new seats and bigger amount of room - didn't like the $11.00 ticket prices. Had always told everyone you were a better value than Star theaters, ticket and concession prices - though was given senior discount ticket rate of $8.00, so that was better.

MJR Waterford is such an incredible place to be, any day of the week. This place is absolutely jaw-dropping! The staff is great and always willing to help in any way they can, and they really keep this place looking spotless! Plus the prices on food, beverages and snacks are way better than the competitors. Bring the family or hang out with friends, either way I give MJR Waterford a solid 5 stars. I don't give those out recklessly

I grew up going to this MJR so I might be a little bias, but I love this theatre. It usually isn't too crowded early in the evening or afternoon and tends to get busier later at night. The staff is always friendly and they do an excellent job keeping the establishment clean. In regards to the viewing experience, the quality of the sound and picture is fantastic and the they recently replaced their seats with large recliners. They've also implemented a rewards program (that saved me probably close to $50 this past summer) and an app that let's you reserve your seats in advance (which is great if you want good seats at some of the more popular movies).

They now have reclining chairs! very comfortable! You must reserve ahead of time and be careful not to fall asleep!

Decent prices and good seating in all the theatres I have been in. Their concession stand always has a lot of workers so you never have to wait very long to get snacks or refills. The bar that they is nice as well. Always clean with friendly staff.

Today (February 10, 2017) I went to the Waterford MJR movie theater to see the 12:45 showing of 50 Shades of Grey. I was refused service for multiple reasons. The first being that I had my 6 months old son with me. I understand the policy of NO ONE 6 YEARS OF AGE AND UNDER allowed into a movie with an R rating. However, common sense would tell you that a child at the age of 6 months would not even understand (or care) what is going on on the screen. The second reason I was refused service was simply because I had a child. The manager refused to sell me a ticket on a notion that my son "might" cry and "might" disturb others. I had stated to him that I would leave the theater if my son did start to cry. It is beyond ridiculous that I was refused service simply because I had my son. The manager then refused to sell me a ticket to another movie (again simply because I had my son).
