The oldest hotel in America (opened 1716) the formal dining room at The Colonial Inn is generally very good, and the menu contains many items that harken to the antiquity of the establishment. The food itself is generally better than most (if not overly exceptional). But if you'd like a quiet dinner in the Monument Square area of Concord that's a step above the casual restaurants in the area, it's certainly better than your other immediate choices. If you're looking for something exceptional (and a good bit more expensive) you might want to go further afield and try 80 Thoreau at the train station (about 1 mile away), or Woods Hill Table (about three miles ago) in West Concord.

Stayed for a night. Stayed on the 3rd floor of the prescott house. Small room. Quiet. Except when there is a band playing at the bar.. Don't know if it was worth the price I paid. And didn't get to experience the food.

This old hotel is lovely. Much of it is original
The food is quite good. They do all their own flower arranging in all the first floor dining rooms and restaurant. Feel free to walk around and see all the first floor public rooms. In the good weather enjoy their outdoor dining area.

Our room dad was perfect in every way! Exactly what I wanted for the historic trip we embarked on. The Inn itself is so darling, well done and extremely precious. The food at Liberty is beyond delicious. We are there 4 nights during our stay. I can't get enough of this place! It will forever be my favorite!!

Had a girls' lunch and drinks at the Liberty Bar and loved it! So cozy and delightful on a rainy day. Food and drink were delicious. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, albeit a bit slow since there was only one server in the whole bar, not her fault. We weren't in a rush.

Lovely place that truly conforms with the charm of Concord. Great decor and great food. It could be busy so it's a good idea to call ahead and reserve. They often have major social events going on - weddings etc.

Great food and drinks, pleasant staff, interesting location. We ate inside because there was a long wait to eat outside. Granted, while it was more picturesque outside it was more interesting inside. The building has many different partially sectioned-off rooms and areas, which made it feel more cozy. The lower ceilings and decor make you feel the history of the building, but we never felt it was cramped or dark. The food is a good mix of modern comfort food with older-inspirations. The quinoa bowl I ordered was delicious, and the addition of various baked root vegetables made it seem like it was based off a very old recipe. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that the Colonial Inn feels old while also staying modern, clean, and comfortable.

We went there for lunch, the staff was great, we were quickly seated and our waitress was friendly. The menu has a number of food items, I ordered a sandwich and sweet potato fries. The sandwich was delicious with lots of fresh ingredients. The sweet potato fries were tasty and thick. They also had delicious corn bread and rolls! I would absolutely eat here again

We always enjoy stopping in for a drink when we are in the area but sometimes find it hard to get the attention of the staff in the snug. Seems to be an issue with staffing levels rather than staff willingness to serve.

Service was very warm and welcoming. Promptly brought our party drinks and kept them filled well. Bathrooms are a little far from dining area (downstairs) but very clean. Food was very well prepared, exactly to specification.

The back bar is wonderful for a small sized functions. The food is fantastic, especially the key lime cheese cake! The history in this place is just beautiful, and I loved the little book store!

Hotel buffets are seldom the best measure of a kitchen, but my two recent experiences at the Concord Colonial Inn may change my mind. I have seldom enjoyed such perfectly prepared fare, and certainly not at a tourist destination.

Each dish stood by itself, distinct and distinctive. Every offering, and there were too many to even sample each, was simply beyond my expectation. Do not miss the lobster bisque, nor the beautiful little rolls of smoked salmon while you're trying to decide what not to try at the raw bar. On to the entrees! Six choices for your protein, innumerable for the sides, and each perfect by itself. And don't miss the turkey stuffing, even if you don't have the turkey. But, you must save a corner for the rack of lamb. Outstanding! And on to deserts . . .
