First time here at was really good, I actually enjoyed myself. At first I was turned off by the few aquarium animals, but as I learn about what they are doing through there educational activities and info all over I appreciated them more. Also the boat ride was really cool as well, it's the first I've been on a boat ride and they have quiz, music and cookies! So overall, it was a great experience.

I love that this is an educational facility. They show pride and care for the animals here. Staff was always available to answer any questions. Truly a wonderful organization.

This is not as large as the one in Tampa, but I was fine with this. The Dolphins of course were very nice to see. We also enjoyed the Rays as well.

Fantastic marine rescue animal hospital made famous by A Dolphin Tale movies. Their incredible work is funded in part by the excellent educational exhibits which include a few dolphins (including the actual Winter), otters, sea turtles, sharks and fish. They do a fantastic job being personal. Please do not expect a big entertainment venue or full blown commercial aquarium. This is a teaching hospital with a personal touch. Love their staff and their mission.

We went to the Aquarium to see Winter and Hope the dolphins while we were in town. When we arrived the paid parking deck was easy to find. I was surprised that the ticket office was in the parking deck. We bought tickets, paid for parking and then had a 3 minute walk to the main entrance which was weird. Then when you arrive the entrance seems temporary as they push you to enter through the gift shop. The exhibits were sparse, with us only seeing The dolphins in the inside and outside tanks, a sea turtle, a sea otter, a good sized aquarium and sting Ray's. I was underwhelmed of the quality of the place and the overall exhibits being so few. I know it's a rescue center so maybe my expectations were too high, but I didn't think any of it was worth the price. I will say the staff was very nice and gave great information. I hope the temporary nature of the place means they are planning to expand and make it a better experience.

I am saddened by all of the 1 star reviews of this business. It all comes down to your expectations. If you are expecting Sea World Orlando shows, you will not find them here. There are impromptu sessions with the experienced staff, which we found to be authentic and entertaining. If you are expecting a large commercial aquarium experience, you will not find it here. There are only a dozen or so animals here and more that are being treated and released back to the wild. I was happy there were not more permanently being held due to their captivity from a young age. The "dirty" water is really just cloudy glass due to a staff member cleaning the windows with the wrong cleaning solution. We actually saw divers cleaning the large inside dolphin pool with scrub brushes when we were leaving at closing time. We were disappointed that Hope and Winter were in separate pools. But the staff explained that it is like siblings who must be separated for some time to relax and be alone. The only expectation not met was the Florida resident discount. They only gave the discount to me and my wife, but not my daughter and her husband from MN whom we invited to come with us. The adult admission was $24 for non-residents and $12 for residents. My opinion of the actual value is around $12-$15 per person. The parking was $6 which I consider cheap for a large parking ramp near a beach.

We were able to get discounts .The kids really enjoyed it and that was the whole reason for going. It was nice to see Winter and Hope also how the history behind the movie there. We did not get to see the outside show because of time. I think maybe that show time should be posted online to help people plan ahead since there is a 1.5 -2 hr wait. I posted a video maybe it will help clarify mixed reviews on the water. Something new they may have started is activities with the kids. I also posted a video on that. The pictures they take are really creative and will cost an extra $60 (for the whole pkg ) I think a family of 4 can expect to spend $70+ depending on if you are willing to look for discounts. Parking is not free

Inexpensive great way to spend time learning about aquatic life, from rescues to release. A real animal hospital, this is the home of Hope and Winter, two dolphins made famous in a "based on true story" movie. They're in the middle of an expansion, but at least the large parking garage is done. The staff does a great job with the ever increasing crowds. I would recommend you dress comfortably, as over half of it is outside. The boat tour is great, and you stop at a tiny little island. Along the way the staff try to capture some small sea life to show it to you. Dress extremely comfortably for that, since you explore a glorified sand bar.

I went there with low expectations based on the promotional material, but left with renewed faith in people's desire to help ocean life without making it do tricks (cough cough Sea World cough cough). I'll return next time we vacation there.

Families and friends, let me start off by saying this is not your typical aquarium. This is a marine aquarium. They’re job here is to rehabilitate animals. A lot of the reviews on here talk about how small it is. You get to see the animal operating area, where the dolphins are, fishes, sting rays and you’re contributing to a great cause. Families of little ones I highly recommend the Clearwater marine aquarium. It’s a great opportunity to educate your kids and show them how the animals are cared for. I went with a big group of family and friends that day and we all had a blast. We enjoyed seeing winter the dolphin! There’s benches around the aquarium if you’re tired, snack bars with light options, a gift shop, hands on sting ray experience, and also a movie room to watch documentaries about how the animals are rescued. I will definitely be going back.

It's cool to go through the aquarium and see all the different animals they take in to help them recover from various injuries or conditions. Nice to also see the money you donate or give from purchasing a ticket go to actually helping animals. Staff is great, everyone was helpful and happy to be there.

Giving four stars just because it's missing the "wow" factor to make it great for many return trips but is still a great place for a day trip with kids.

I have not been back to this place since Panama the dolphin died, but it still is the inspiring facility I remember it as when I saw it as a little kid. As a teenager, exploring the aquarium with more knowledge gained from studying marine mammals was very fun! I even brought some interaction toys that helped me interact with Hope and Winter at the Underwater Viewing. Now I'll give you a little bit of highlights of the aquarium :
-Otters
-Winter Zone (Winter and Hope)
-Gift Shop
-Two Stingray areas (note that they don't have very many stingrays)
-Turtles areas (scattered around the aquarium)
-Rufus the pelican exhibit
-Nicholas the Dolphin Stranding Deck habitat
-Winter's Dolphin Tale Adventure
Yes, it is a very small aquarium. I will admit I was disappointed that it still was the same size as when we went five years ago (estimated), but they are working on expanding the aquarium which made me feel better. There are also large crowds of people so that makes it seem even smaller since all the exhibits are clumped into one building. Other than that, very enjoyable experience. There were presentations that were informative and fun. I really liked the Winter and Hope ones and the Nicholas one. If you like being entertained by dolphins, then these presentations with the trainers are for you! But this is not like SeaWorld, where they have big shows. It's just a small, simple aquarium full of bright animal stars. Truly a fun and enjoyable experience for the whole family :) - Ally

This is a great place to learn about marine conservation. This is not your typical museum type aquarium. It is a working hospital. You will learn a lot but it isn't full to the brim with lots of animals. Hope and Winter are there as well as several other residents. The trolley picks up out front and you can use the City Pass here. Great stop for families while in Clearwater.

I want to start this off by saying, my rating is based on this being more a marine hospital than an aquarium. If you come in with that expectation you will have a much better time.
My kids really enjoyed seeing Winter and hope and being able to learn so much about them and other animals. They have many different learning opportunities for all of their residents.
We also took one of the boat tours which allowed us to see wild dolphins and help the staff with scientific research. I would recommend doing one of those along with your visit.

I expected more. It was overpriced and not much to see. Nice experience but not worth the money. The parking pass was crazy. It said if you visit the aquarium it's 6 dollars and for all other it's 75 dollars! They have a lot of interns working and they were not very knowledgeable about the place. The main attraction is the gift shop which I was Not interested in purchasing anything. Literally only like 7 things to look at. An animal hospital with no animals in it. The sharks. Two dolphins. Some stingrays. Some turtles and fish. A bird. And a starfish. Not impressive at all. I felt like they just wanted you to purchase toys and donate money.
Not something I would go back to or truly recommend

The staff is so passionate and friendly. The animals all seem happy which is nice to see. Things are a bit pricey but its all going to a great cause. Even the short shows have a lot of interaction and fun packed in. There is a trolley that takes you to both locations which is fun. I recommend the dolphin show and feeding the puffer fish!

Very good work is done here! A fantastic peek into the rescue, rehab, and release of wild sea animals. Winter and Hope for the kids, but a great facility for the educational value. I have never met an employee or volunteer who was not friendly and knowledgeable. Make sure the ask questions, you can learn a ton of fascinating stuff this way!
