Stopped in for dinner for my wife’s birthday. Ur son and daughter in- law and grandson. The service was exceptional. Summer did a great job. The food is top notch, exceptional in quality and prepared to our liking. You won’t make a bad decision eating here. Plus the view!

This is an absolutely wonderful place for a romantic meal. The name tells the truth in that the restaurant is right on the water. Facing west, we were treated to an amazing view of the sunset. It might have been the only thing able to compete with the food.
I had the watermelon salad and was bowled over by the tastes and great mix of textures. Thinking I'd hit the high point of the meal, I was astonished when the friendly, knowledgeable waitress brought out my vanilla grouper. Made with riced potatoes and covered in a white sauce made with pine nuts and a vanilla rum, the fish was placed on a bed of delicious fried spinach. I can see why this is one of the oldest items on the menu. It was amazing.

My lady friend advised me that the place I had selected was so-so. So, we came over to Caps. I’m certainly glad we did. The restaurant is very nice, open air, a deck outside by the water. We shared the tuna tartare with tuna, mango and avocado. Very yum. She had the crab cake as well and was impressed. I selected the blackened snapper and was very pleased. Our server could tell we were in no rush and timed her visits nicely. I also had some fine Florida beer on tap, forgot the name.

Good food, exceptional view. They have tons of outdoor seating so you can watch the sunset as you dine. I wish i could give 4.5 stars, but it's not quite 5 for me. I would have liked a little more for my money with the food.

Emily our server was outstanding, she did an excellent job explaining the huge menu and she knew exactly how each item was prepared. We went with 2 of her recommendations. The panko crusted Grouper was incredible, The steak was cooked as ordered to perfection. We ate outdoors at dusk, I did get a few bites, when I mentioned it to Emily she immediately offered to re seat us, and offered a repellent which worked fine. I will go back time and time again.

Beautiful spot for a meal. We visited around 2 on a Saturday and there were plenty of tables on the water. The tree lined deck next to the lapping water is super peaceful. Our server was attentive and helpful with a great attitude. And the food.. delicious! I had the blackened grouper (catch of the day) with sweet potato mash and plantains, while my husband had the fish and chips with hush puppies. We were so hungry I forgot to take pictures but the photos others posted are very accurate. We both really enjoyed our meals.

I enjoyed my experience at caps Waterfront Restaurant. I have a grouper grilled with hush puppies and a side of vegetables it was very good and high-quality. The portions were a little small for what I expected for the price. I enjoyed the views of the water the service with Amanda was very good and they also had oysters Rockefeller. The staff performed very well and had the dishes cleared quickly in the meals were delivered promptly. I was surprised at how busy the restaurant was on a Wednesday so if you want to have dinner there you need to show up early unless you want to wait. Capsized recently remodeled and the place looks much nicer than it used to there's a large seating area on the deck and Renovations continue on the dock the waterfront thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to return soon.

The reason I rate this restaurant a 3 and not a 2 is because of the view and atmosphere.
The food was good, but not amazing. I had the tuna, which was delicious. My mom had the kale salad, amazing, but the fish was dry.
My dad had the pesto Caesar salad with a side of beans and rice. The rice was good, the causer was nothing to write home about.
The food was good though, what gave this a 3 was the service. Our waitress lacked personality and it was extremely hard to talk with her. It gave me anxiety just to order anything because she was so monotone. I try to give waiters/waitresses the benefit of the doubt and be friendly, but it was just a lot of work and for the prices I would expect a bit more friendly service.response / report this review -

Tonight was our first night at Cap's, and we couldn't be more impressed. Had the Grass Chipper cocktail, beef tip appetizer, vanilla grouper, and chicken gnocchi. Best tasting meal we've had in a very long time. Ashlie, our server, gave phenomenal service. This is our new favorite place!

I love this place. The food is always on point. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and the location is fantastic. They should get rid of the rude person who answers the phone. She is a real detractor.

Peaceful ambience, delicious food (try the watermelon salad!) and exceptional service. Our wait person, Blossom, went out of her way to accommodate dietary needs and provided excellent service. Great place to dine, casual to elegant.

The food, outdoor patio atmosphere and views are awesome! However, they will NOT take reservations or even call ahead. We have a birthday party for 20 and they will not help or accommodate at all. They recommended coming in 3 hours early to wait around and TRY to get seated somewhat together. Seriously? There are too many other great places (that will make accommodations) in St. Augustine.

Great place to eat. Service is outstanding. The menu choices are many. Most of the fish is from local Waters meaning within 25 miles of the restaurant. The fish was cooked to perfection and was light and flicky not over cook just right. The great service starts at the door and continues through out the meal. Never hurried to finish. If in Saint Augustine this is a must stop.
