The room was very nice but the ridiculousness you had to go thru to check in was horrible. We paid for a room in advance only to find when yoh get there you need a $50 deposit, that can not be cash. We spent 3.5 hours driving around on the 23rd of December looking for a bank that would let us make a deposit. The hotel did not offer and solutions except having us run all over town looking for banks because they do not except pre paid debit cards. After wasting 3.5 hours of our trip, we finally got to check in. NEVER AGAIN.

Great customer service and front desk. The rooms are ok but the staff is awesome. They have a free dinner mostly every Wednesday and they have a newly renovated gym

It got the job done. It has a decent gym. No breakfast. The hotel was not particularly luxurious but it was fine.

Staff was great. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff gave us good info about area and getting on with our trip. Definitely would stay there again if coming back to NYC.

TL;DR: Staff was excellent. But the rooms aremeh.
Thin walls and ceiling meant the first night my neighbor played music till 1am and I heard it clearly. And the person above me was either 400LBs or had a baby rhinoceros doing laps around the bed most of the morning and evening. About 1/3 of the TV channels didn't work; it seems they dropped the movie package and all associated channels. Maintenance was called to my room 'by request' but I didn't request anything. A little disconcerting that he was in my room when I didn't ask, so of course I had to go through all my stuff to make sure nothing was missing.
Redeeming qualities: nice pantry with food available. Free shuttle service. Awesome staff. Tons of hot water and good pressure.response / report this review -

I only stayed 2 nights while visiting my husband who is staying longer for work. I found this Candlewood Suites to be very clean and quite comfortable. The staff seem great, and seem to be treating my husband wonderfully.

The staff is very friendly. The location isNew Jersey. The kitchen and free laundry make extended stays more bearable. There's free food and beer on Wednesdays. The Wi-Fi is terrible. The pantry is reasonably priced and diverse.

This place is awesome. I travel about 25% of the year and they have the best hotel staff on the planet. Also the beds are extremely comfortable.
