Their customer service has gone down hill dramatically. I bought a modem instead of renting theirs to save a couple dollars and they refused to help me after he switch. I only was asking for my isp address so I could set it up myself and the would not give it to me. Plenty of other options to choose from. Not the only player in town anymore Buckeye!
Absolutely incompetent service. Didn't have record of a payment I had made, turned off my service multiple times, spent over 10 hours holding and on the phone with them in the past month, and have been waiting over a week to hear back from a manager. Would absolutely NEVER recommend.
Edit: Wrote this review Nov. 22, and it is now Dec. 21st, and I am STILL waiting for a call back from a manager, even after talking to another rep who said she'd make sure I got in contact with a manager asap. (This was last week that I spoke to this rep.)
Not very impressive service, or customer support. Had lots of signal and speed issues when internet was first installed and several phone and service calls later, the issue was resolved. Now I am considering switching to a competitor who offers a free modem for the length of service, faster speeds, and no data cap for about $30 less per month.
I called to tell them that I was considering leaving and they offered no incentives to stay other than switching to a more expensive plan that they offered with no promotional pricing. On top of that, they told me outright lies about the service and details of the competitor, including that the free modem was only for 3 months, that Buckeyes customer service was better and that they were a local company, that they guaranteed the speed and the competitor did not, and that if I wanted to buy my own modem that Buckeye had a list of compatible hardware and the competitor did not. None of these things were true and after signing with the competitor, they had internet installed and running much faster that the speed they had guaranteed me in less than 24 hours.
I pay $180.20 auto pay have no previous balance. I moved from an apartment to my new home. I just received my 1st bill i added nothing new same service, my bill increased to $334.32. I trying to get this straightened out now my bill for the exact same service increased $154.12. This is the pricing problem I ever had in 3 years, the same can't be said for the internet service. If They stand by this billing I will end my time with them.
The service is terrible and inconsistent. Every time I need to speak with a customer service , I have to wait over an hour. I installed 50M internet, the actual speed is never over 35M, some time the speed is less than 1M. They just changed their billing system. The transition is horrible. They don't communicate with you at all for this transition. I can not log in the account and the customer service did not know what is going on. I have to call back again to find out I have to re-register the account again. And the account number changed too, no email or mail to tell you this change. Horrible, horrible service. Finally, I switched to another provider, I asked if I am going to receive a final bill. They told me the final bill will come via its original way. I use e-bill to avoid the paper bill charge. I thought I can still access the account and see my final bill. You know what? My account is not accessible again! This company has a lot of inconsistency and the customer service need more training obviously. I am glad I am not with Buckeye any more. However, I will still need to find out how they will send me the final bill ( I overpaid, expecting refund, honestly, not sure if I will get it).
Trying to login to my account to pay my overpriced bill for the past few days and each day I get a notification that the website is down and to come back later. For a cable and internet company you should have a somewhat decent website to collect payment on.
Awful customer service. I closed my account in person, paid the balance and was told I was all set. Apparently the person helping me did not bother to turn off my auto-pay on my credit card so it continued charging me. Then when I call the customer service line to get it fixed no one can figure out how to credit back to my card. Totally incompetent.
I had a gentleman by the name of Jess come this morning to activate my internet (8AM-10AM slot). He was very helpful and answered all my questions. He also got the internet connected extremely fast!

IF I HAD AN OPTION NOT RATE ANY STARS, THEY WOULD HAVE "ZERO" HIGHLIGHTED STARS. THEY DISPLAY WORSE THAN POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE TECHNICIANS DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. THEY ARE ALWAYS IN A RUSH AND THEY TALK TOO MUCH. THE TECH SUPPORT HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE AS TO WHY THE CONNECTION KEEPS GOING IN AND OUT!!! JUST HORRIBLE!!! THEY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE AND THE REPRESENTATIVES DO NOT SHOW ANY EMPATHY WHAT SO EVER!!!!! I HATE THAT I TOOK A CHANCE WITH GETTING CABLE WITH THIS COMPANY. THE COMPANY IS THE DEFINITION OF POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
They work with you. Good service; good company.
comcast might be bettermassively inflated prices due to monopolistic practices. unreliable internet at non-promised speeds
Rates keep going up and speeds are hit or miss. The data caps in an era of streaming tv are ridiculous as are the overage charges.
Buckeye purchased the lines in my area of Pburg and no other providers can offer internet service. Surprise, surprise. Buckeye is jacking up prices and won't negotiate. That's a great way to keep a customer, Buckeye, as long as you don't mind them jumping ship as soon as other services are available. Let me know how that business model works out for you long term
I love that Buckeye is local. I love that when I call with a problem they are Toledo area workers that take pride in helping me resolve my issue. I have had calls where they were able to send a truck out that day.. THAT DAY!! My cable does not go out due to snow, clouds, heavy rain like satellite does. I had an issue where mine and my mother's (who lives next door) internet would stop. It was very annoying and they replaced the lines on our street (very old lines). Have not had a problem since. I chose Buckeye because I chose local!
