In the case of my overall personal experience, I would definitely give Carrollton Animal Hospital five stars (well, maybe four and a half, but more on that shortly). I've lived near Carrollton all of my life, and my family has ALWAYS used this animal hospital for our dogs and cats. We have a lot of loyalty. That said, it was much better years ago when Dr. Davis was still around. Her replacement, Dr. Woodruff, is still wonderful, if a little less personable, but the office now has different veterinarians that come in on different days of the week. Because of that, it has kind of become a crap-shoot. Some of the veterinarians (like Woodruff and Cline) are absolutely wonderful. Others are not so stellar. My fiance and I adopted a kitten a week ago from an animal shelter, and we took him almost immediately for a checkup. The vet that we saw barely even looked at him. He gave him a booster shot and some dewormer and pretty much sent us on our way. He missed an infection in the kitten's eye and an umbilical hernia on his stomach. We ended up bringing him right back in a few days later, and we were fortunate enough to see Dr. Cline, who was very friendly, patient, and sweet. He answered all of our questions and actually gave Kovu a thorough exam as well as antibiotic ointment, which has done wonders, for his eye. It should also be noted, though, that some of the receptionists are also less than stellar. There are some wonderful ones - especially those that have been there for years - but there one or two who make it seem as though you're wasting their time just by being there. Overall, my experience with Carrollton Animal Hospital has been pretty positive, but the fact that we see a different veterinarian almost every time we go in has us considering switching veterinarian offices in the next year or so.

All I can say is WOW. Against the advice of prior patients, I decided to give them a try with my senior dog. The care he received in fairness was "adequate ". And he is not, at his age and medical issues, the easiest of patients. However, I am guessing that goes with the territory. And indeed, they did the expected "follow-up" telephone call. My frustration was with some of the hospital staff. Within a week of having my dog there, I had a major family emergency that necessitated I leave the state immediately. The following moring, I stopped at the hospital and asked for a Weeks worth of medication to take with me for my pet. Much to my shockthe vet in the office refused to help me. This tells me the Vets that share the same office don't play nice together. Now we are talking nausea meds and a steroid. Not a controlled drug or anything of any degree of difficulty. The receptionist told me the Vet there did not want to do the meds because he didn't know dosage, ectHeaven forbid he looked at a chart or better yet, THE DAMN PILL BOTTLES I HAD. The clerk basically told me to take a hike (my words, but exactly what she meant), and when I told her I had to leave immediately for the emergency, she told me quite plainly, THAT I SHOULD THEN LEAVE. Which I gladly did. A Vet in another state gave me the meds I needed to keep Sam comfortable until I got home. SO I LEFTRIGHT TO ANOTHER VET WHEN I GOT BACK. and BTW Carrollton Animal Hospital.you missed an infection Sam had. With proper treatment, he is much better. AND TO THINK I WAS GOING TO PUT HIM DOWN? There's a Vet on every corner.I'm encouraging people to get one they are comfortable with. They are just as big of a part of your family as your pediatrician; and CARROLLTON ANIMAL HOSPITAL AINT IT.

Dr. Stacy Davis is so nice to your pets. She treats them as her own and talks to them sweetly to claim them down. Dr. Burgett is a nice guy as well, laid back and very experienced.

I have been going to this place for forty years , first with my mom and for the last and for the last 25 years for my own animals. These are the nicest people to deal with. They are compassiate about the animals. Kathy salineville
