Work put my coworkers and I up at this hotel due to snow making several employees call out. Getting off work at midnight, I was freezing and tired. Audrey at the desk was courteous and kind. She informed me of the breakfast hours in the morning. It was worth looking forward to in retrospect and nicer than many hotels off of major highways. The room was nice and bathroom much better than expected. Not the best the area has to offer, however overall very pleasant experience. Since work covered it I can't speak to cost. Certainly recommend it over budget common chains.
The check in staff here were sweet, but despite numerous requests, housekeeping was demanding. My partner and I were sick for our entire stay, but housekeeping repeatedly attempted to enter the room before check out time, knocking and trying to open the door at 9 or 10am.
When we told the front desk about it on check out, they told us that do not disturb signs were available downstairs, and we could have requested one, but there should have been one in our room (there wasn't).
That said, the hot tub room was nice, even though it was very visibly lopsided, and the room was free of weird smells. If not for the rude staff and housekeeping, an easy 4/5.
After traveling for awhile, the check in was great. Nice looking room with double beds, except one of the beds was dirty. Immediately contacted the front desk, we left to eat, came back to go to bed, and it was still dirty (lots of hair). Called front desk. The next day, left the hotel for a long while, came back, same bed is still dirty. Called front desk, 2 hours later bed was changed. Checked out the next morning to go home.
Why would a customer need to keep calling for a bed change full of someone's hair? For $170 a night, we expected better, although it was convenient, a dirty bed is outrageous.
Checked in late on Oct 12 2017. No lights on the sign or entrance so hard to find at night. Place was cleaned probably as good as it could get. It is in need of up dating. Bed and pillows were not very good. A little above average on the breakfast. For 109 plus taxes, I would expect better.
Comfy beds, great location, the walls were thin and we could hear the neighbors toilet flushing. The room smelled a little like dog. I would recommend and would hope that the Next Room doesn't smell so musty.
Good location, located around many tourist attractions and downtown Asheville. Room was clean and spacious. Service was good and always available. Only complaint is with the location it is by the road so loud cars are clearly audible and can wake you up.
The location is close to I-40. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I have stayed here many times and have always had a good stay. The desk staff are always helpful.
Pretty nice hotel. First room we were put in the air conditioner did NOT work so they got us a better room quickly and it was better. Bed was super comfy!! Nice size rooms. Fans in bathroom don't work so your room stays kind of humid and the air conditioner doesn't come out super hard but for 1 or 2 nights it's pretty good. Breakfast was delish!
Great staff, friendly, conscientious, willing to help, when needs arise.Clean rooms, w/ good mini appliances that all work and aren't missing..things, like shelves or storage holderstoiletries supplied in roomreally like this lodge nicer than many in the area with similar pricing.
Stayed for one night during a not very busy time. Room was nice, beds pretty stiff. Continental breakfast decent.
Nice place to stay; very well-maintained. Clean and up-to-date. Would have been nice if my room (#112) on the ground floor had blackout curtains that went the whole length of the window instead of quarter panels that can't be moved.
Updated review. We had stayed here previously and liked it. This stay made me knock down rating from 5 to 4 stars. The room needs some updating. The bathroom faucets were corroded , the vent in the bathroom needing cleaning badly, the furniture shows wear and tear.
The beds are very firm, not bad just very firm. If you have a room facing the road you will hear morning traffic. It didn't bother us but it is there.
At less than $100 a night with taxes its still 4 stars for me. If the rate goes up and hotel isn't updated the rating would go down.
The room was very clean, tidy and so was the jacuzzi tub in the room. Checking in and out was great and it's about a 10 minute drive from downtown Asheville. My only complaint is that they claim to have a fitness room on their website and listings which I understood to be a gym. It is just a bare room with mirror lined walls on one side and no equipment.
