Disgusting! I do sales for a living and have been all around the world, and stayed in plenty of dingy hotels just to have a place to rest my head but this hotel wins my gold metal for biggest dump, worst service and highest price for the privilege. I paid an eye popping $140 to stay in a disgusting smoking room (not disclosed at booking through Hotel Tonight) which does not have operable windows to even air it out! In addition to the room smelling like an ashtray the lady at the front counter seemed to take some delight in telling me this. Her view was I took the gamble of believing that in 2017 a hotel that dared charge that much for a room in Ashville, NC would provide a clean one and that's on me. Shameful. Gross. Not using Hotel Tonight again. Also never staying at a Ramanda! Yuck!
I did not realize I had booked a smoking room until after it was booked. I called the hotel and spoke to an awful woman who told me it was impossible to help. She stated that this was like a flight and I could not change my reservation nor could I cancel it. I explained that I did not see it was a smoking room until after it was booked and I did not want a smoking room. She said that she was a woman of honor and there for could not cancel my reservation. She then said there were 6 people in line and put me on hold. Luckily I was able to cancel my credit card and then cancel the room. This hotel needs better customer service as they have none.
This Ramada is in an odd location. Not bad, mind you, but quirky. It's behind some small shopping plazas which keep it remote from traffic and relatively quiet. The shopping plaza is right next to an entrance for the highway so it's convenient, too. The room was big and the bathroom was spacious as well. The bathroom was also very clean. Only downside I can think of is that the Wifi connection was intermittent and would not connect at times. It was free and when it worked it was fine, but it would often disappear.
This hotel served it's purpose and was generally comfortable, but it smelled awful. The lobby smelled weird, the upstairs hallway had a different weird smell, and the king room in the suite smelled really weird. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, just really strong smells everywhere. They didn't have the room we reserved (two double beds), but we made it work with the pull-out couch. There was a dog barking in a room down the hall, which was annoying. If you want cheap and conveniently located, then it's fine. We were visiting family nearby, so the location was more important that comfort. The breakfast wasn't bad.
Can't believe what a joke this location is. I called in and got someone who spoke no English and when I asked her about room availability someone else got on the phone and advised I was being transferred to reservations. When I got over ton reservation I was sure to ask if there was a charge for early check in as I would need to be arriving far before 4pm I was assured that was not a problem if the room was open and there is no charge. So I booked the room and called back to the front desk to confirm the check in time. Once I reached the front desk the same non English speaking woman came on the phone and when I asked about the check in she said no its not guaranteed if the room is available (which I already knew I asked her if there was an early check in charge) I asked AGAIN the same woman about the charge and was told that yes I would be charged an entire day to check in early.. obviously I'm upset at this point and asked to speak with a manager I was put through to the exact woman who transferred me to reservations. And explained that I was just told by the dept she transferred me to that there was no extra charge. She said " well sorry there is" stunned at the lack of customer service ANYONE in thus building has I said well I guess I'll cancel then because I was told there was no charge. To which the woman on the phone happily complied to cancel my reservation right away 😑 not trying to save a customer or anything. I've had bad luck with Ramada in the past but thought hey this may be okay, guess not and I'll avoid Ramada until I die.
Wonderful room for a decent price. Mountain view was beautiful with lots to do within a short drive. Excellent staff and clean establishment. Great breakfast buffet included. Wish there was an elevator to reach the third floor, but still a great stay overall.
Short version, when I walked in the room I noticed the bathtub wasn't clean. There was a whole corner from top to bottom of black something that I had to clean up. I stayed a week and finally asked for service (I had not needed any until then but they did ask every morning). This time the bathroom was clean but my sheets, blanket and pillowcases were not changed. I had not had a knock on my door my whole stay then one morning housekeeping decided to just let themselves into my room while I was sleeping (I did not have a do not disturb sign nor had I needed one) then 5mins later another housekeeper came by and knocked. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful especially the 2nd shift guy, the property was kept nicely. Location is great.
They are very friendly and is a great location to go around town to go sight seeing. The rooms that are smoke free are exactly that. The rooms seemed new and we'll as the beds. Great experience overall and would do it again.
Location is great to get around town. The room with the jacuzzi tub is great. The room is big with a small space to fix food if needed.
This is a very good hotel for the price. I don't see the point of some people complaining about facilities. Some people might even find problems in heaven because the it is too good. What do you need for an inn? For me, good and comfortable bed and pillows, hot breakfast, clean bathroom and shower. That's all I need. If you expect five star hotel like service in a 100 dollars inn, you are either stupid or live in your own world.
Lobby and hallway smelled strongly of something weird. Cigarette burn in comfortable. Everything else is pretty good. Fantastic pressure in shower, plenty hot, shampoo and soap was actually really good. Continental breakfast was better than average. It had :scrambled eggs, decent sausage, name brand cereal, milk, cream cheese, waffle maker, enjoyable orange juice, tasteless biscuits with good brave.
