Staff is great and the KOA is great. The reason I give it 3 stars is because it is right next to railroad tracks and trains coming through all hours of the night and several of them to. Their horns seem to get louder throughout the night.

Better than a hotel. This is more an RV park than a campground, but there are a bunch of camp sites as well. On the weekend in season it is packed so don't expect a woodsy camping experience. But if you like the convenience of having bathrooms, showers, and electricity than it is great. No campgrounds are very private, if you want solitude, find a park or a patch of wilderness without a soul nearby. I stayed in a cabin, was nice and toasty despite being 20 degrees out.

Beautiful Swananoa. Most campsites are located on the river or lake. It’s a great place to bring kids. In the warmer months, you can float on tubes in the cool river. This is close to many attractions too. This is our 4th visit and we will be back.

One of my favorite campgrounds. We stayed on the river and it was gorgeous and peaceful. Campground has tons to do and is extremely clean. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is how small and close the campsites were together.

We leave our camper up here year round.
That has to say it all. We are on our way as I write this. Long and relaxing weekend.
Great place and fun for all. Old or young.
Pet friendly with a small dog park 👍👍👍❤🐶

This is a great KOA! Staff is friendly and helpful. The grounds and bath houses are clean and well maintained. Great place for a family camping trip. Plenty of good fishing in the ponds and the river that runs threw the campground. Loved my cabin on the lake. The views of the mountains was actually amazing. Only suggestion I'd have for them is to build a bathroom on the east end of the pond or allow folks on that end to keep their golf cart at night. Had a great experience here and hope to go back often.

Because of Hurricane Irma and our need to evacuate the Charleston, SC, area, we secured a campsite at Asheville KOA. The Hurricane's path changed and is expected to not hit Charleston as hard. We decided we would be safer to stay at home. When I called Asheville KOA to explain and cancel our reservation, I was treated with kindness and compassion. Because of the storm and the situations of so many, I was told I would get a full refund with the exception of the $10 charge. How refreshing for a stranger to show such understanding and kindness by phone.

Breathtaking view of the mountains! We tented on the lake and woke to the most beautiful view! Everyone was very friendly and kept a very clean peaceful atmosphere. Amazing dog walk with trees and stream within the center of the park. Has lots of things to rent and a lovely general store. Cant wait to come back!

We stayed here this weekend it was great everyone is nice and helpful. We met lots of nice people but Doug was the best he really helped us out. We have a motorhome and did not tow a car he took me to the store. We will visit again soon

Absolutely Beautiful Campground. As one comes to expect from the KOA brand. Staff went above and beyond to make sure their guests had a good time and their needs met in a friendly, timely fashion. If you can't visit this one visit another from KOA, almost all campgrounds are very similar in price anymore, so you may as well go to the best, right?

This is lengthy, but important, I think. Stayed here and, while the facility itself was fine, the reaction by one of the owners, to an unsafe situation screams more loudly than clean bathrooms, and adequate campsites. When we first arrived, both my husband and I commented about how strange it was that a good size bridge over a creek on the property had no railing, or even a protective ledge, to keep anyone (a bike riding child, for instance) from going right over the edge and into the water. And we observed, at close range, that very situation. A gentleman was walking his dog, the dog pulled on his leash and when the man tried to maintain his balance, his foot fell into the depression between two boards, which prevented him from moving it in any direction to right himself, and he fell right into the water! Luckily, the water was deep enough that he didn't break his neck, and he fell clear of large rocks that were right near where he went into the water. My husband helped him out of the water, and made sure he was not injured. We talked to the gentleman the next morning and he related to us what one of the owners said to him when he reported the event - only as a heads-up, FYI - this man has no intention of being a jerk about an accident that could have been much worse than it was. The owner first told him that if he'd been more careful, it would not have happened, and actually told him that he could leave! I am appalled by his lack of compassion, customer service excellence, and common sense. He is damn lucky I wasn't the one who fell - even if I'd had no intention of making trouble when I walked into the office to report the incident, I'd certainly be on the phone with a lawyer after talking to that tactless, thoughtless owner. And btw, the bridge is pictured on their website, I believe, on the first page - there is a duck on the other side. Thanks for taking the time to read this - I won't stay there again, that's for sure!
