Not the fanciest. It felt more like a dorm room than a hotel. But great for those of us who are on a budget. Great customer service! Also, the hotel is located on Broadway. Just take the 1 subway train, and it will take you all the popular attractions in NYC.

If your expecting a great room with good room service this is not the place you're looking for, I mean besides the fact there was a roof over our heads that's the only thing I would actually give them credit for. I never knew there was so many telemundo channels until I stayed there. The heater was out dated and the guy smoking outside the window was the only view we got. I'm sure he was a crack dealer. The lobby gives off the impression that it is a good hotel but how can you expect someone to give you good a good review if they have to come down the stairs because your elevator decided not to work after only getting to ride once. I mean the krusty towers would've been a more ideal place. All in all this place should be bull dozed and gentrified.

Great location (metro station is 2 min away). Hostel is clean, staff is friendly and polite. Walls are relatively thin so it can get a bit noisy, but during our stay we were sorrounded mainly by quiet people. Rooms are very basic, bathrooms are sufficient. On the checkout day the give you the possibility of storing your luggage with an extra 2$ charge. I'd definitely recommend this place if you wanna get a great location for a relatively decent price.

Good location easy access to underground, great kitchen and common area. Interiors in hotel room a bit outfashion and dark. Strange smell. But it was only in one room. Other was great! Great value for price

Stayed in private room. Gross smell. Dark painted walls and carpet in a tiny room??? Cockroaches in bathroom. Seriously I would not have stayed here had I seen or even smelled it beforehand. NYC is so dirty that you kind of want a clean refuge to come home to at the end of the day. This is not it.

This hostel is everything I could have wanted in a place to stay in New York City. It's close to transit, close to central park, close to the water, and in a very walkable area. The neighborhood is quiet which is refreshing after being downtown all day. They even let me and a friend check our bags behind the desk for free a few hours before and after we arrived. Staff is friendly. Rooms are small, basic, and clean. Communal fridge for takeout leftovers saved me money for dinners. Very pretty lobby area.

Our stay here was 'good enough'. It's very close to the 96th and 103rd subway stations and a 10 min walk from central park and the Hudson River. My wife and I stayed in a private room with 2 twin beds, with a shared bathroom in the hallway. Bathroom was surprisingly cleaner that we expected. Room had ac which was life saving as we went during a heat wave. Beds were very subpar, pillows were uncomfortable. The tv was nice to watch the morning news as we're from Canada. Our room had a certain smell, kinda musty and maybe a little moldy that after 5 nights, I'd rather sleep on a park bench that smell it again.

All in all, if your looking to do new york on a budget and don't want to spend much time in your room, this is a great place. The location is 5 stars, the hotel is 2.

This place is amazing. It's my first hostel experience and I was expecting to share a bunk with a guy named Guiermo that licks his lips a lot so the bar wasn't set too high.
Super clean bathrooms, very quiet rooms, wicked close to all the action. Will definitely stay here again.

First and foremost, there is a $5 key deposit. The Hostel is an older building, with a very small elevator and 7 or 8 floors. The shared bathroom was very nice and I was happy to see my twin room had a faucet. Friendly staff who printed train tickets when we asked.

After traveling 10 hours my sister and I were really tiered and just wanted to get some sleep but the heading makes really loud noises like someone bangs on a metal all the time. When we complained about it the other day we got told that every room is like that.
After waiting an hour for the manager we git a new room way nicer and not that loud. Also the elevator was not working and the first room was super small and not at all as nice as the one from there website.

The only good thing to say is that the staff was really nice

Minuscule and dirty rooms, mould in the bathroom, blood stains on the bed linnen. Popular with a younger crowd, who love partying in their rooms till 5 am. All of that for the same price of much better quality hotels in better neighbourhoods of Manhattan Would only take it as a very last resort.

This can not even be called a motel!
My husband and I traveled to NY from PA; Drove for more than three hours to attend a concert in the area, we decided to book a little close to avoid driving after the concert, to get ready, rest for a while from the long trip we had. We finally booked here so we wouldn’t have to return To PA the same night and at last we had to book it because there was absolutely nothing else available in the area that night.
This is a big scam. Nothing they advertise is real, it's a pigsty.
* The rooms that say double bed is really a bunk bed which is children’s size, of 4 or maybe 5 years old!
* There is no private bathroom, you must go out to the hall to use the toilet or the shower shared with other guests!
* The "comfortable rooms" according to them; Two people can’t even walk in it at the same time (exaggeratedly small).
* For your vehicle to be safe you must pay $ 55.00 of private parking off site (because the staff of the "hotel" tells you to go around the blocks around to see if you get a parking spot)

I do not know how there are people who stay in a place like this
Never again! There aren’t even any elevators! I had to go up four floors in a really tiny stair case.

ohhh and I did get my money back, although they did not want to return it to my credit card because it was non refundable after you signed!

Arrived early and were told we had a little while to wait until check in, which was fine. What wasn't fine was them offering to put our bags in storage while we went downtown, and then coming back to check in and finding one of our bags sitting unguarded in the lobby. The elevator up to our third floor room was out of order, and our key didn't work which meant several trips up and down the stairs to get that fixed. The hallway outside of our room smelled like stale cigarettes. The room itself did not, but the bed frame broke as soon as I sat down on it and the queen bed room we had arranged ended up actually being two double beds. Positives: the front desk staff was friendly, the room itself is nice and the three light dimmers are handy. Flat screen TV is a nice addition (tho no cable), especially at a hostel. The location is decent, great considering the price. $70 a night for a private room with a shared bathroom right outside our door.

I have paid more but never had a nicer stay. Clean and very updated. All the staff were super friendly and accommodating. The common area was huge. We felt very safe and treated like family. Highly recommended. I'll stay here every time I come back.
