Our thoughts are with the Heaslip family today. With great sadness we have been informed Mr. Richard Heaslip has passed. Funeral services were held at his Lady of the Lake church in Verona, NJ. We are very sorry to have been unable to attend due to the summer season upon us. Dick will be missed by all our geusts, each year families from all over the property inquire at the office for him. Mr. Heaslip was an interesting, kind hearted well loved man whom you could sit and chat with for hours. I personally have had the pleasure of hearing his stories for the last 25 yrs. and will forever miss hearing (Joanne have you got a minute) To all the children and grandchildren from the bottom of our hearts we are so sorry for your loss. Love Joanne, Mike and all of The Boulders staff.

Absolutely AMAZING place! I cannot say enough good things about Boulders. The staff is always top notch. Tons of fun activities for kids and adults (especially liked the adult’s Sip and Paint this year). The grounds are gorgeous. Every year there’s new upgrades. We begin counting down til next year starting the day we check out.

Possibly a good value, provided you stay on the “right” side of the road. If you stay on the wrong side, definitely better value to be had up or down the road.
We booked the Boulders after noticing it while on an off season trip in February. Checked out the website, and it looked beautiful. Lake views, nice pool, activities and amenities for the kids, etc. Booked based on the website, but needed a 4 bedroom that would accommodate a special needs/wheelchair guest, and were told that they had such a unit, but it was “across the street” at their secondary property.
Google view showed what you would expect, another group of houses/hotel rooms with a pool, etc. Looked nice enough, and the main property is just across the street, and there was even a small discount in the rate for being “across the street”. The “discount” however, isn’t worth what you are giving up as far as amenities go.
The houses/cottages are what you would expect for upstate NY. Always look better in the pictures, but as long as they are clean, how bad can they be? The pictures definitely exaggerate the roominess of the 4 bedroom house, but again, that’s to be expected and understandable as long as the amenities are up to order. The problem is that the amenities across the street are not.
We thought it was great when we checked in, and noticed that our “across the street pool” was usually empty. Until we got in it, that is, and realized that nobody was using it because it was freezing cold. If that’s not bad enough, the deck is constructed from some type of driveway blocks that are so rough you can barely walk across them without shoes.
As far as activities go, they are available, but all across the street. This doesn’t sound like a far walk, and straight line it’s not, but if you factor in the elevation change from one side of the resort to the other it’s a mini mountain climb. The activities and amenities are what you would expect, and again, if you stay on the “right” side of the road, you will enjoy them. If you stay on the wrong side, not so much.
Pool on the “right” side of the road is heated, has lake view, a hot tub, and activities for the kids abound. Pool on the “wrong” side is like a dip in a cool mountain spring, which is not as refreshing as it sounds, and other than cutting your feet up on the “deck”, there are no other activities to be had.
I won’t even get into the fact that they checked us into a room/house that had not been cleaned, and that internet didn’t work for 3 out of the 7 days we were here and that I had to spend hours waiting for the “IT” guy to show up to explain what the issues were, because none of this would have mattered if the rest of the resort experiences were as advertised. The main issue is that I had reasonable expectations knowing the area, their advertisements indicated an above average experience for the area, and they did not deliver.
Again, if we stayed across the street, my review would probably be different. If they explained more realistically the drop off in services and amenities from one side of the road to the other I would not have booked this side or this resort for the rate charged. If the price difference was more reflective of the difference, I wouldn’t be complaining about it. However, this is not the case. We were sold the “right” side of the road experience at a minimal discount that was not worth the drop off in amenities.
Had I known this to be the case, I would have booked a mile or two up or down the road for a more appropriate price for a wrong side of the road experience!response / report this review -

My family and I have been coming here for 30 years. I have grown up here over the summers and now my kids will as well. I cannot say good enough things about the people who own and work here. Everyone from Mike (the owner, who has a BBQ every Thursday and knows you by name) to Joanne (who is the front office manager and is beyond helpful and kind), to the staff- make it a five star experience. We have made beautiful memories and friendships here. I can not recommend this place enough

Great outdoors activities included at no extra charge. Very clean and friendly staff. Will definitely return. A very relaxing place to be. No issue in parking, private entrance for your townhouse, each unit gets a very clean grill with everything you will need to do a barbecue. Loved it.

Fantastic, fun, family resort. Very clean. I've been staying in Lake George for 20 years now and tried a few places. The Boulders owners put more love and care into their property then all the others combined. Everything is clean, they fix or replace anything that gets broken and they really go out of their way to provide every guest with a great experience.

Me with my family was there in this weekend. We went there from Brooklyn, NY. For us, Boulders Reost is the best resort in Lake George. Everything is really fantastic over there. Will love to be there again and again.
