Not at all crowded. Went Presidents Day weekend and the crowd was very manageable. Easy to get to off the Thruway. Not as popular as the other resorts in the area but definitely worth it.

Our favorite Mt. I've been skiing there for most of my life. They're constantly making improvements & we always have so much fun there. I love that I now get to share this with my children. We took a lesson with Patrick, & it couldn't have been better. He was great at catering to our needs & quickly assessed what we really needed to be working on. Plus, he was so much fun to ski with 😁 My kids took lessons at the ski school (as they do every year) and they had a blast. We can't wait for our next trip back next year!

Just a FYI: Al Gore does not live here, nor did he create this mountain. Also, global warming will not be noticed if you are on the chairlift on a cold windy day. If you ski in the woods, watch out for that one rock that has the real big drop on the back side of it. If you ski with your cat, like a lot of people do, they do not permit them in the lodge area, but they seemed to let it slide in the bar. Mrs. Meow loves Milk Stouts.

Haven't skiied in a number of years. I went to Gore with one of my daughters ( a strong skier) and one of my grandchildren. We had a great time. The staff was very friendly, the prices reasonable , the tails and lifts A+. No lines and not such a long drive (from CT"s NYC suburbs). It reminded me of going back a 20 yearsfewer frills, lower prices, nice people and family friendly.

Gore is an interesting mountain. There is a nice variety of terrain from beginner to expert with a number of lifts to keep people moving up and around the mountain. The facilities are in good shape but dated. I found it odd that snowmaking activity ended in early February for the season. It definitely would have helped the conditions after warm temps and rain earlier in the week. Staff was friendly. Lift lines moved along reasonably but lifts stopped quite often. More than I have ever experienced in my 40 plus years of skiing.

Went here for the Gore Mtn Harvest Festival. Wonderful setting and friendly staff. Parking was tight but we found a spot after a few minutes.

Visited Gore Mountain to ride the gondola ride. It was really fun. Couldn't believe how high it went. Definitely recommend.

Lots of ski trails and moderately priced. The gondola is nice when it is bitterly cold. Not a great apres-ski place but excellent if you want to do a lot of skiing.

I've been skiing here for over 20 years, my dad for over 30 years. If the snow is good, the skiing is good. Get on the trail and have fun before noon, due to our east coast weather we tend to get solid packed snow in the afternoon and the worse skiiers scrape all the good stuff off.
Pro tip: if it is the afternoon, ski on the edges of the trail. All of the snow from the middle ends up there.response / report this review -

I've been to almost all the ski mountains in the north east but this was the first time I went to Gore (March 2017) and I was very pleased with this mountain. The conditions were great which makes a big difference, but this place is better than Hunter and compares to many of the mountains in Vermont. The parking lot is a little bit of a mess so it PAYS to arrive early.

I have been going to gore mt for 20 years and I'd never want to go anywhere else. My family bought 2 house in upstate ny to go skiing there. The staff is friendly, the trails are great, the food is great, and they have true dbl back diamonds. I suggest coming here with small children and beginners because they have great lessons and very nice instructors. Their trails always seem to impress me. The prices are a little high but taking everything into consideration it is definitely worth it.

I have been skiing at Gore on and off for the last 48 years. I also often ski many other places in the northeast. Gore is like home, comfortable. You need to come here more then once to realize all it has to offer. The variety of trails is one of the best assets. REAL steeps or narrow old time trails or wide beginner trails or cruisers are all here. Every trail has a different feel unlike some mountains in another state nearby. Try it more then once and you will learn to love it
