This was a great place to visit because we had anted to see a plantation while in the area. While the price seems a little high for what’s offered it wasn’t outrageous and included everything to see and do. Some other plantations looked as though it would cost way more to do some of the same things. Worth the time and effort to go see.

The house itself is not original and is rather a waste of time with a lame 30 minute hokey tour. The Avenue of Oaks is very pretty and the horses are lovely. The best thing to do here is the Gullah talk and demonstration and to learn about the dark history in the slave quarters. We didn’t have time for the tractor-pulled buggy ride around the property but it looked nice. I’d just say that at $24/person this is a bit of a ripoff.

I visited late one afternoon and saw they were setting up for a wedding. I happened to have a button up shirt in my car so I threw it on and decided to invite myself. After a few handshakes and a couple well placed complements, I was treated to a huge buffet, an open bar and a long night of fun with a bunch of people I had never seen before.

Beautiful plantation. House was gorgeous. Garden spectacular. Staff very knowledgeable. Bathrooms small. Long line of waiting. Buggy ride very cool. Funny guide.

Great time with the family here! No, the main house isn't ancientnot a big deal to us, since we were told about it many times. The land, history, and tours were great, especially the woman that educates you on Gullah culture. Well worth the drive up from Charleston, especially since it's only about 20 minutes from downtown.

Great historic destination. Take a walk back in time when visiting. If you are a fan of "North and South" or "The Notebook" you will especially love
your visit! I grew up in Charleston while the North and South series was filming and I love going and visiting "Mont Royal". If you haven't seen these movies or Boone Hall then please
go do both at once! You won't regret it!

Well it could be less expensive. But it is a nice plantation. Not really historical for the main building. The slave cabins are historic though. There is another historic building which is collapsing, and I'm sure they should try to preserve it if they want to keep a minimum of authenticity at the plantation.

Great Plantation! The avenue of oaks is beautiful- stop and take pictures on the way in or out! Gullah presentation was entertaining. Tour of the plantation was short, but informing. Gorgeous garden and landscaping! Walk around the grounds for several photo ops!

We felt Magnolia was far better. Boone is nice for its "avenue of oaks" yet the house tour was extremely short and the house has dramatically less historical significance compared to the other plantations in the area. There's a tractor-drawn tour around fields now cultivated by the latest owners which we didn't find very historically interesting.

Lots of info to learn here. It was kind of surreal to be here and see the history of slavery and the plantation. One thing that did occur to my party was that everyone who visited Boone Hall on the day we went was white. We did manage to see a couple of Boone Hall employees who were not white but other than that I believe my 1/4 Indian genes were the only non-white around again, surreal. Other than that oddity, it was a great tour on the tractor and our tour guides were very well versed.

Loved this place! So easy to get in and the $21 (with AAA) was beyond reasonable. Plan to spend at least 4 hours here. We went on a Friday and it wasn't very busy at all. We did the house tour, the trolley tour, and caught the Gullah show, which they will also tell you not to miss as it was incredible. There is so much you will learn about American history there. Everyone should definitely make the trip!
Oh, and do be sure to try the ice cream!

Great value for your money. A nice variety of tour options included in price. Tour guides were very informative. Beautiful drive up the Live Oak driveway. Scene from The Notebook. Highly recommend. Easy drive from Mount Pleasant.

One of the most amazing driveways in the state! Enormous arching live oaks fill the property, and the horses greet you as you arrive. The plantation house sits on over a square mile of rolling fields and forest that are a joy to explore. The butterfly garden wasn't there when I visited last, but the antique roses and period architecture make for great photo opportunities and a peaceful, informative day. The wedding I attended was in an amazing location right on the water with a riverside ceremony and large, rustic reception area. It was beautiful and very memorable. Altogether a great place to slow down and learn about some fascinating history!
