Came here on a date with my girlfriend. It was great! There were items on the menu we didn't know, but our server was an expert and helped us out and was very polite about it. The food was wonderful and we learned a lot too! Great place to discover some new eats!

Great small place to take a hipster date. The food is inventive yet familiar. Staff is very friendly and the ambiance is very cozy. Cocktails are engineered to satisfy.

My favorite restaurant in Indy. I've gone many times. Great atmosphere, new menu every day, and everything has always been great. Price is very reasonable for the quality of the food. Service has always been great. Parking is easy too - street parking is readily available in the nearby area.

Second trip to Bluebeard, and just as fabulous again. This time we brought our friend from Tennessee, and he loved it as much as we did. We had a wonderful server named Laura or Lauren, now I can’t remember, sorry.
With it’s great cocktail and wine list, and menu perfect for sharing you can’t ask for a better time.
The vanilla Chess pie and Chocolate Stout cake are fabulous!
We can’t wait to come back again!

Yummy food that's creative! Service was also excellent. Really was pleasantly surprised.

Be aware, if you put your name and number down to wait, they'll give your spot up within a minutethey are a little too proud of telling you about their wait times.

Went there without any expectations and without knowing that the chef is well known. Service was great specially with my two kids on a Saturday night. Salmon was a little over salty. Otherwise the other 3 entrees were great

With a dairy allergy I was excited to go to restaurant that makes all the meals fresh. When getting there I was told no modifications would be allowed and there were no entrees without diary. When asking the question of if I could switch the side for a different vegetable without dairy I was told no and that I could just just take the meat or I could leave. Vegans and those with an allergy beware as this was the most shocking response I have ever received to having an allergy.

Awesome cocktails, delicious food, and great service. Bryan (one of two by the same name lol) was spot on with cocktail, wine, and dinner recs. He was awesome and will be back because of him. From Austin, TX and this is reminiscent of great restaurants back home. A must visit in Indy.

This place is Overrated. I grew up in "hipster central" Portland, OR in the 90's. This place is trying too hard. The beet salad was amazing and a healthy portion. Everything else was small portions. Our waiter was attentive but had almost too much energy. The menu had no congruence. I'm sure there are marvelous dishes here but way, way overpriced for Indy. Good attention to my friends celiac dietary needs. The amazing giant beet salad and their understanding of serious gluten free needs is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 3.

Man, we had a great here at Bluebeard. Awesome variety in food. Great beer selection. The atmosphere was very nice, filled with dark wood bookshelves and rustic globes and antiques. Bread pudding is to die for.

Disappointing, but not for the irrelevant reasons the other reviewers explained. I've tried this restaurant three times. The food in itself was a desperate attempt at modernizing or customizing classics. Despite the effort that was clearly invested in the menu, there was at least one key factor that could have made each dish awesome, but it was instead very average - change your pate recipe, add flavor to your breading, create a balance with the spices and counter ingredients. If you're going to do different, do it right.

Bluebeard has a great courtyard patio. The food is always really good, large and small plates, meant to be tapas or shared family-style. The food is generally decadent, and sometimes very unique. If you have picky or unadventurous eaters this may not be the place for you.
I really enjoy the roasted cauliflower and brussels sprouts, as well as the beet salad. I'm not a vegetarian but they make their veggies taste real good 😋
The bar is probably my favorite, they have a Great cocktail list, as well as a good selection of craft beers from local breweries. The restaurant is small, plan to wait.

Menu changes daily. Food with great flavor. If you want to try something different this is the place. I had quail, DH had scallops. Other items on menu were chicken breast, octopus, salads, soups, appetizers. Our food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I have included a portion of the menu from the day we visited but it changes daily. We will be back.

Slow, disappointing and not worth the money. We had tried to come here before, because we had heard good things. They don't take reservations for some stupid reason though, so you don't know if you can get in. We showed this time right at 5 when they open. Still had to wait. Then waited 25 minutes after we were seated to get a menu. The people next to us we there after us, but got everything before us. Or drinks were good, our appetizer and one enter we decent. The other entree,a pork roast, was very dry and flavorless. The bill came to $130. Not worth it at all. We spent a solid 2 hours there, and missed our plans for the night.

“Enjoyed lunch here!”
Had soup and split a burger. Both were delicious. The wait staff was fantastic. Burger was cooked to perfection. They had a grapefruit soda, which was a special treat to me. A little pricey, but worth it!
