Great location and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We noticed they maintain the property and clean the pool area everyday Rain or shine. The beds were also very comfortable but our room had a upper window without shutters and it was light during the night from outside lights. We would stay there again but request a room without the vaulted ceiling because of the windows.
Awesome place for locals to chill outside at the bar and watch the sunset. Food kinda pricey. Terrific scenery. Never actually stayed in any of the rooms. Great facility for wedding too.
This is a very nice place to stay. The rooms are beautifully remodeled, comfortable, and fully stocked. The location is perfect too. We had a view of the water outside our room. Plus, we were walking distance to the harbor and downtown Dunedin. We will definitely be back to visit here!
I am uncertain of where to begin. I will just start from the beginning. I found this particular hotel on-line and like very much what I saw and read in pictures and amenities. We had a wedding to attend in Dunedin so I wanted somewhere within nice traveling distance to the wedding location and somewhere nice to stay at after the wedding. After searching for a couple of hours, we decided to stay at this Best Western. We wanted the best of the best so decided on the 2 bedroom suite they offer due to several people in our party. The price on this suite was extremely high but I figured by the look of the pictures it would be a nice stay. I booked online with my credit card and received a confirmation number for my date. So it begins
The day I was to check into my hotel, I receive a call from an elderly lady who claimed she worked for this hotel and that my card did not work and she needed another card. It seemed strange to me because I was not comfortable giving another card on top of one I already gave. I told the very rude lady that I know my card had plenty enough money in my account and there was no way it should be declining. She rudely told me she was going to give our room up and not hold our reservation. My husband who had been driving already for 8 hours advised her that he would be there in 2 hours and we would be able to sort this out. The lady was very adamant about wanting another credit card. We did not give in to her request. Upon arriving after the wedding, we went to check in and the card that the elderly lady claimed did not work, worked perfectly fine at the front desk. The customer service from the front desk was absolutely horrible. The staff was not friendly and were very bossy. After receiving our keys and going to our room, we were immediately disappointed. The 2 bedroom suite we booked was not even facing the water. We were looking out into the busy parking lot. As a matter of fact after speaking to the front desk, she assured me that not a single room is on the water! The photos are deceiving! No room faces the water at all. Its a breezeway you walk down to see the water. So the view for our nice suite was a busy and loud parking lot and streets. The windows looking out to the street were so dirty you could barely see anyway. There was no excuse for the windows and how dirty they were. There is a ledge and the windows could easily be cleaned by the staff. The ceiling fans were extremely caked up with dust and have clearly not be cleaned in quite some time. Our vent in the bathroom sounded like a drag strip runway when it was cut on. Not to mention, that the entire rooms were cement and they did not have nearly enough furniture inside to isolate the sound. You could hear both sides of the other rooms very clearly. I could tell you what they were even watching next door on TV just by the sounds coming through the walls. You could hear everything. It was awful. Be advised that the pictures that are proposed for this particular hotel are very very deceiving. There is not a single room on the water or that even has a view of the water. We spent way too much money on a suite that was a horrible experience. I hope by my review I can save someone else from this nightmare that we had. This hotel needs a lot of maintenance put into it and they need to hire friendlier staff.
Was only there for a wedding, the banquet facility was very nice. Dock area for outside wedding was set up nicely, staff was friendly. Food was seriously good! Surprisingly, everything that was served was too notch, especially the roast beef. Upstairs room was great for the size wedding we had, really well done by their staff.
Great place, great staff, close to many things and by the water. I took one star off because the rooms need some updating. You can see patched up walls, holes in the wall, toilet runs for 10 min before it shuts off, in the shower when you switch to overhead shower, water still runs on the main faucet. A lot of maintenance issues. Another star is off because the price too expensive for this kind of rooms. 200$ is too much for outdated rooms, stains on the furniture, any white color headboard and night stand shows the scratch marks, brown stains and dust and dirt can be seen very clearly. Other than the room lacking issues and prices being sky high for a suite room that's not even facing the water, this is a good hotel overall.
Everything about my stay was all but perfect. A small rattle in the condenser of the micro fridge all night long (I only heard it because it was "pin drop" quiet outside). So I would have to give it 4 3/4 stars. Please fix the rattle. Will definitely plan another stay at this hotel in the near future!👍👍
I have stayed at many Best Westerns and love them. But this hotel needs a really big update or renovation in the rooms. Very outdated decor! But on the good side, it's the best place to stay when visiting Dunedin Florida. You're in walking distance to all the stores, shops, restaurants and if you like craft breweries this is the place, you don't have to drive. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was descent. Not a bad place to stay, just needs to be updated!
Beds are good quality, as is the service. Staff are very friendly. Décor is seasonal, if a bit dated. Breakfast is serviceable, if nothing to write home about. Bathroom is nice, with an actual bath. Would be nice if the rooms had overhead lights rather than a multitude of lamps. (Is this a cultural/location thing of Tampa?)
Waterfront hotel. Great breakfast included 7-10 a.m. Attached waterfront bar, patio restaurant, and fancy indoor fine-dining restaurant. Convenient location to walk to downtown, or stroll the waterfront multi-million dollar homes on Victoria Drive. Upper rooms have vaulted ceilings and good views, but the upper windows let in a lot of light at night, so get a sleeping-mask from the front desk. Upper end of Best Western chain. Freyda at the front desk is such a sweetheart. All the staff is extremely nice and efficient.
The cleanliness and decor of this hotel impressed me and my wife. To add to the last comment when I booked this hotel and looking at the pictures my assumption was "this is your typical hotel where management hires a pro-photographer and makes it look impressive" but let me tell you - was I wrong? Anyone can easily tell Best Western is investing in giving its hotels a face lift and not doing it the cheap way.
And to top it all off the location of this hotel adds more stars to an already positive review. The marina (we trailed our boat down) is within meters of the hotel and downtown Dunedin with all its shops and restaurants make this a true gem.
My wife is already planning our next weekend getaway to this same location.
We really enjoy visiting this little town. The hotel was pet friendly and in a great location. The staff is friendly and helpful but we paid over 600.00 for 3 days and it was a bit high for the hotel and it's amenities. They have a nice pool but no restaurant and a minimal breakfast.
