Though freshly remodeled, the original windows and sliding doors have very poor weather sealing, which means LOTS of noise from the highway (and next-door construction site) leaks into the rooms. Guest services were polite and helpful, but there was nothing they could do about the jackhammers that start up at 8am sharp.
Hot breakfast was well-cooked, but wholly unchanging for the week of our stay.response / report this review -

The Best Western Plus Irvine Spectrum gives us an amazing experience for the price. 24 hour fitness center is wonderful and the breakfast room features a friendly chef serving us a hot breakfast. Close to the airport too. We would never stay anywhere else when we visit our grandchildren.

What an awesome place. Beautiful quiet room. Great deal! Perhaps the most comfortable bed I have slept on in recent years (and countless hotel beds).

Beautiful hotel. Great staff. Good price. The Best Westerns have remodeled their hotels and are making an effort to win over customers. It worked on us. We have enjoyed the upgrades they have made and appreciate their great customer service.

The outside of this hotel looks nice but the inside is set up like a motel and looks like a prison with its bland cement walls. I was very disappointed with a few different issues. The first issues was that I had to wait 10 minutes to be able to get into the elevator on numerous occasions throughout my stay. It seems that the service personnel use this elevator to move their carts, etc throughout the day and as a result leave no other elevator for the guests to use. Unfortunately I was on the 3rd floor. Big mistake. Also, the individuals at the front desk seemed to care less about customer service as they spent most of their time in the back room and had to be summoned to receive any service. When the issue about the length of time was brought to their attention they told me to go outside of the hotel and use the stairs with a rude tone. Although the breakfast area was large, the selection was small. I stay at Best Western on average about 2 times a month and this was one of the poorest food selections. Overall, not a good experience at this hotel which is unfortunate.

kind welcoming clean and comfortable very conveniently close to the ocean. Recommend and will come again. Left behind a few garments in the closet because we had to leave short notice and they were very quick to look for the missing items. I must add that they are dog friendly and charge what seems to be the most reasonable charge these days We have a mature short hair black lab mix and she does her business outside and takes her naps inside. You hardly know she's there and some places charge up to $150 + night which is absurd in my eyes. I would probably tell my husband we were beach camping before I paid that.

This is the third time I've stayed at the Best Western Plus Irvine Spectrum Hotel while visiting family in the area. Every visit has been great and the staff have always been really helpful. During this last visit, I had to switch rooms because the noise from people exciting the elevator activated my did into guard mode. The front desk staff was really helpful and let me quickly switch into another room. There rooms are a little older but they are well taken care of and always clean. The hotel does serve a decent breakfast (eggs, turkey bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, waffles, yogurt, assortment of fruit, cereal).

Only chose this hotel because they had suites that slept 6, and we were traveling as a large family group. Plenty of parking, easy check in and spacious rooms. The best part of the stay was the complimentary breakfast. Lots to choose from, including hot options such as scrambled egg, bacon and sausage, freshly cooked by the friendly and efficient cook.

Great value! We stayed in a suite very similar to an Embassy Suite hotel. However, this hotel was not noisy and cost substantially less. It was clean, the staff was very polite, and helpful. The breakfast was average but the staff and cook were a pleasure. We will come here again.

The staff was very helpful and kind. Our family had to leave our house due to a slab leak and the Best Western was a great place for us to stay. It was very comfortable and was our home away from home. Thank you.

I loved the suite i stayed in. It was beautiful, clean and smelled good, too. The concierge was so friendly and personable. I liked that he had a sense of humor and made me laugh especially after the hard day I had at work. It was refreshing to see a sming face. The breakfast was complete and superb. I never slept so well being away from home. I will return this time for leisure.

You're getting great value for your money here. Its a roomy clean two room suite with good turn down service in an excellent and convenient location. Its not going to be the nicest suite or property SoCal had to offer but for the price it's a great deal. Ideal for families or multiple people sharing a room. A TV on each area and a door that separates the two rooms. Mini fridge microwave and sink. You can visit on the cheap by stocking your room with for and drinks. Walk to McDonald's or a convenience store. Restaurants also walking distance. If you're looking for a 4 star place this isn't it. But best bang for buck indeed
