Great location for Universal, Hollywood and some of Downtown! Nice and helpful staff. Comfortable beds. In a safer area and the 101 Coffee shop, attached, has the best food.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around

The inside of the hotel was beautiful and unique. I really loved the shower in the king bedroom, having 4 shower heads was amazing. Only issue I had was that outside of the hotel there were some homeless people on franklin ave and it made it feel a little sketchy walking around. I would recommend walking with at least one other person. Overall had a wonderful experience and would stay there again.

The rooms are you standard best Western fare but with a Hollywood twist. They seem to be themed with memorabilia relating to classic Hollywood movies, themes, and people. The cafe downstairs also has great food!

The hotel is nice enough, though we did have some issues with the noise of contruction on the pool at 6AM instead of the advertised 10AM. The hotel staff apologized and refunded a nights stay which was good of them. The attached 101 Cafe is incredible. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and will remember you.
I recommend a visit to the cafe even if you're not convinced by the hotel.

The Hotel is a gem. It is unique in its artistic qualities and at the same time is very well managed, clean, and full of all the amenities anyone would want. The staff were all very attentive and helpful and would make sure all your needs were met. Would definitely stay there again. Thank you.

Hotel is older, but refurbishing and updating took place ~5 years ago and was well-planned and very tastefully done. Excellent location and very comfortable room with separate kitchenette area (included bar sink and microwave as well as the usual small refrigerator). The separate bathroom in particular was well-appointed and quite a bit larger than expected(!) with double sinks, plenty of counter space a large, wall-in shower at one end and the clothes closet at the other end. A/C small, but worked fine (and was needed the night we stayed there). TV difficult to figure out and picture kept freezing up every few minutes or so (the only real problem we had). Restaurant food and service was outstanding, although prices were a bit high -- but to be expected given location. (Note: restaurant is affiliated with hotel, but is not owned/operated by Best Western. It's been a popular spot for a very long time for the movie stars who live up in the hills above Franklin/Hollywood Blvd.)

Nice hotel, ideally situated close to all the attractions of Hollywood. The hotel is split into 2 blocks. We stayed in the main block, which we thoroughly enjoyed, as more characteristic than the modern new block. The hotel was spotless and the rooms were cleaned very day to the same standard. The staff are friendly and in the main very helpful. Some went out of there way to make us feel like guests as opposed to just a $ sign. Would recommend and if in LA again, have no hesitation booking for a revisit.

good location, close to downtown hollywood and universal studios. pleasant staff.
the room had a slight odor, probably carpets needing cleaning or deodorizing room did have frig and microwave, a big plus. large room and bathroom. small but adequate elevator close to room.
the two windows had broken locks on them. can't lock them. told staff but they can't do anything about it. need to call repairmen.

Staff was super helpful and friendly. Upon check in they gave us a map and took the time to tell us where everything was and how far they were from the hotel. They even had scheduled shuttles to several different attractions. The room itself was very nice the staff always made sure it was clean whether we left later in the day or in the morning. Very pleasant hotel. The diner down stairs was also equally excellent and delicious. Will definitely go back again.

This review is for the bar that's located onsite, not the actual hotel. I went to the bar for a friend's birthday celebration. The bar is on the small side, but that lends it a cozy atmosphere. The cocktails were tasty and strong, but also somewhat pricey (at least for someone who loves out of county). The bar staff were also very friendly. A bar that I'd be happy to visit again.

The room that we stayed in where large with large bathroom. Had microwave, kettle, hair dryer and normal facilities you would find. People at reception are friendly, happy to help and give good tips about the local area. The restaurant attached had one of the best pancakes I've ever had. Food was reasonably priced and the staff there were quite good!!!

Our room was clean and pretty big. Microwave and mini fridge available. Mini Bar down stairs is great and cozy. The 101 Diner just downstairs has great food! We were pleasantly surprised. We would definitely return.
