I don't know what we enjoyed better--the fantastic location right across from the state park and beach or the friendly staff. The rooms aren't anything fancy but they are clean and comfortable. The hotel is located on a semi-busy road so if you're a light sleeper, you may want to take ear plugs. The heated pool is perfect for kids (very clean) but not suitable for lengths swimmers. The only thing we didn't really enjoy about this hotel was the breakfast; it could be improved with some instant oatmeal and healthier cereal options. We would definitely return.

We had the best Spring Break ever!!! Even though we live in Carlsbad, doing a stay-cation at the beach and at Beach View Lodge was so much fun. My daughter met new friends, loved playing in the pool and it was so close to the beach & restaurants. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. We will definitely come back!!

Love, love this hotel! We have stayed here as a family and as a special treat, my daughter and her friends celebrated their birthdays there. It was an awesome experience. Staff is helpful, rooms are clean and the balcony view of the ocean is just amazing. Highly recommend.

I stay at this hotel several times during the year to visit family.
I truly enjoy the friendliness of the staff- they are always trying to make the guests stay pleasant and comfortable.
The location is wonderful - we can sit at the terrace sipping coffee and admiring the beautiful sunsets on the beach. Also, there are different restaurants and excellent coffee places in walking distance, which makes my staying there without a car a much more pleasant experience.response / report this review -

Beautiful views. Walking distance to restaurants. Beach access across the road; has crosswalk. Spacious rooms. Clean. Comfortable beds. Outdoor common area nicely decorated and comfortable. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Nice eating area overlooking ocean. Area is available to enjoy after breakfast rush is over. Wonderful environment, we will be back. One drawback from getting 5 stars, tight parking.

Such a beautiful location! The staff is very friendly. They go out of their way to make you feel appreciated and comfortable. I appreciated the covered parking. You can leave your car there and walk across the street to the beach. The hotel will loan you everything you need for a beach day. It's also an easy walk to the village with great restaurants and shops. My room had a partial ocean view from the balcony. But even if you don't spring for an ocean view room, everyone can take advantage of the great view from the deck off the breakfast room. It's an awesome place to enjoy sunsets, relax or drink coffee. I thought the bed was very comfortable. The fridge was a nice addition. The wifi worked well. Bathroom was a little small but functional. I would definitely love to go back!

This is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed! I love staying at Best Westen but this hotel in particular exceeds all expectations. The staff was friendly, the view is amazing, the beds and pillows were so comfortable, the overall ambiance was peaceful and inviting. I will definitely be returning. I absolutely loved every minute and wish I didn’t have to leave. :)

Beautiful location right across from the beach, with a wonderful view from the breakfast room & terrace. All of the employees were very helpful and always pleasant. Beds & pillows were extremely comfortable. If in Carlsbad again, I would most likely stay here if available! Thank you to all staff!

Our visit was great. The hotel was in the perfect location in Carlsbad. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. They had umbrellas and chairs to use at the beach. Their options for breakfast were great too. We plan on staying here again next year!

First off great location, it's a beach view hotel. Second service is okay, it ain't outstanding but it is what you should expect being a customer. Third, the rooms are all right nothing too fancy but they are pretty good, liked the bathroom shower. Overall I would recommend staying here especially because of the location near the beach if you plan of going there and visiting the many shops and restaurants in the town.

Can't wait to visit and stay here again. The ocean view during breakfast every morning is amazing. The hotel can be a bit noisy through the day but it's super nice and quiet after 9 pm. All the staff and guests alike were very nice. Hotel was super clean and I recommend considering this hotel for your next stay in beautiful Carlsbad, CA.

Wonderful location and very courteous staff. However there are a couple of concerns our family had. We have two small children and our hotel room had a nice fireplace that unfortunately did not have any safety glass to keep a child from falling into the fire. The switch for the fireplace is mounted on the wall at a height my two year old could easily reach. Additionally, the security latch in the door was also mounted very low (lower than other hotel rooms we have stayed​ in) and our children opened the door and wandered out on several occasions. I love Carlsbad and I loved being close to a nice swimming beach but I would not stay here again with small children because we were worried about their safety and could not fully relax during our stay.

This hotel is really nice, clean and centrally located. I love the fact that it was small and you can see the ocean from the property balcony. Everyone that works there was pleasant. Prudence was very welcoming and was willing to help with anything. She gave us some great ideas for dinner. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks and we plan on visiting again in the near future.
