We have stayed many many times over the years. It's local to everything in Monterey, restaurants, showing etc. The hotel is very clean, quiet and the rooms are larger than most. A certain recommend

The king sized room is spacious. The service was great. The breakfast was also nice. But we heard footsteps from upstairs which was a bit annoying. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Our room was quite large with a fold out couch, refrigerator and microwave. Nice sized bathroom. A lovely, small property. Breakfast was more than adequate: waffles, microwavable burritos and breakfast sandwiches, toast, pastries, yogurt, cereal and juice. It was Halloween season and the staff was having a jack-o-lantern contest. They were displayed in the lobby/breakfast area and guests were the voting judges. A nice little extra activity. About 3 miles from wharf area.
    Would definitely stay again.

Great experience here. The room was larger than expected, the facilities were clean, and the staff was friendly. The breakfast selection was small, but everything was tasty. The parking availability was limited, but we still found a spot, and it helped to have a key-accessible elevator from the back parking lot. The koi fish by the front desk were fun to see.

Front desk staff and breakfast staff are very friendly, helpful, and courteous. Spacious and nicely decorated room and very comfortable beds. Remodeled bathrooms. However, breakfast is very limited (instant oatmeal and waffles are the only hot options) and there is very little seating. Limited parking spots as well, and the driveway to exit the parking area is very narrow (if you have a larger vehicle, you'll have to exit on the entrance side). Also, no AC, so you hear traffic with the windows open.

Very clean room with comfortable furniture. The room had nice decor and was a great size. Hospitable staff with a great breakfast. My only complaint was the room didn't have central air. We kept the windows open with the ceiling fan on. The room was nice and cool, but we had lots of noise from all of the traffic.

The hotel is very good. The rooms are clean and nice. The hotel does not have air conditioning and you get one fan per room so if you book a double room then you are out of luck. Other than that everything is good. Breakfast is included and plenty of parking. The location is not the best but workable.

I gave this hotel 4 stars only because of the hotel staff including the front desk manager and the managers and the rest of the staff who work and run this hotel. They are wonderful. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the rooms are large. The Wi Fi kept freezing on me but I didn't use it that much. My only complaint in the area in which the hotel is in but that is probably why we got such good room rates. If this hotel were closer to the Wharf or Cannery Row, it would likely be much more pricey. The continental breakfast was usual hotel continental breakfast food. Not very healthy and mostly white flour, sugary, high fat products. But we just went out and bought food in to our liking and it worked out fine. If you want a nice, clean, comfortable room with very nice hotel staff, this would be my recommendation. If you want to pay a lot more and be in a nicer area, there is lots to choose from.

This is definitively the best option in moderate priced hotels in Monterey, CA. Rooms spacious, clean, comfortable bed, location with many restaurants and business and close to freeways. But the best are the staff, extremely professionals and genuinely polite. Only one improvement needed in breakfast, the space is too reduced, I suggest a couple of tables more. Best Western jewel !

When I realized my room was on the first floor right next to the breakfast area, I expressed concern to the desk clerk about it being potentially loud, especially in the morning. I told her I was visiting the area to do some writing. She told me that she didn't think it would be loud, but if it were a problem, I could possibly change my room the next day. It was a problem. I woke up to being able to hear people's actual conversations and I couldn't use the room to write. I didn't bother complaining. I had only one more night and no time to be fussing about moving my room. I will not stay there again due to not being accommodated for what I intended to accomplish while staying there. It wasn't cheap either!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the De Anza, as we always do when we visit the Monterey Peninsula. We only stay at the De Anza because we get the very best service and treatment when we stay there. The location is central to everywhere from Marina to Carmel and we have never been disappointed with our stay. We have been Gold Crown Club members for many years and we have always stayed at Best Westerns from Monterey, CA to Pensacola, Fl. The only recommendation I would have is that ALL Best Westerns become pet friendly. We love taking our rescued dog everywhere we go.
