This was a very very bad experience for me. Mike was a nice person to talk to initially, but after about an hour things got not good. I am first time car buyer, and I told them to please explain things to me clearly.
I ended up with a vehicle that I did not came in for. I like the car, but would have liked to get the one I wanted, which was a used 2015 Ford Escape XLT, which would have fit my budget just fine.
The manager of Mike used really hard selling on my and entered my personal space and irritatingly asking me 'why are you stuck at $3000 for your trade in'. I told him my 2000 Form Mustang GT Convertible has only about 50,000 miles and only few minor dents and scratches, and its worth at least $4500 and that I was compromising with them to get the car I wanted.
They said they did not have the car I want cause its over my budget, so I said fine I will go home and rethink. There was another GM dealer who had a similar car, in London, Ohio, and I would have gone there. But the staff at Ben Davis continued their high pressure sales, and kept my until almost closing. I had just moved to Ohio and told Mike I wanted to be home before dark, which obviously never happened.
It seemed their policy was to sell me a car in my budget. While that is fine, they should also tell me ALL the details of the car they are selling me. I am a sensitive quiet person and first time car buyer, so sorta gave into the high pressure sales tricks. I ended up with a base line Buick Encore, that has none of the features that I WANTED IN MY CAR when I first walked in at 12:30pm that day. The car I got towards the closing of the dealership after high pressures sales and lots and lots of waiting for odd reasons, does not have a CD player, no heated seats, cheap sound system, no navigation, and other features I wanted -- that was the reason I wanted to buy a 2 year old used car to pay what I could for the features I wanted. Man, I got taken that day by the dealership.
Since I had to travel the next day to California, I passed the 3 day limit to return the car, so am now STUCK with the car until I can afford, on my teacher salary, to buy the next car I want. That time I will definitely not go to Ben Davis, and will bring a friend along with me to help avoid the high pressure sales and tactics.
ALL the persons I met face to face in that dealership and one point or another tried to trick me and sorta scare me into buying the base Buick Encore I have now. To make the upgrades I want will cost me a fortune, which I don't have.
This was the saddest and worst buying experience of my life.

Ben Davis and Issac Palumbo put the fun back in buying a car! While most places have drifted away from the fun of haggling, Ben Davis hasn't. We enjoyed every step of the way and in the end we both walked away feeling it was a fair trade. Next time we will start at Ben Davis and hopefully save ourselves a lot of time.
I speak for the RV side of the business only. They are knowledgeable, friendly, responsive and on time. In other words BD RV delivers. They tell you how much it will cost and meet that goal. Price is reasonable but not inexpensive. We will return as the need demands.
Bought a car from them in June. Car has treated me great and the sales staff is amazing. They truly have some of the LOWEST prices in the area. I would recommend them for your new or pre-owned car search!
Our interactions with Beau and Marcus made this experience a great one. We would definitely recommend them and Ben Davis to anyone in the market for a new/used vehicle. They will go above and beyond to make sure you're getting a great deal, and a GREAT vehicle! Never pushy, just always open and willing to help. Fantastic customer service! And the van we purchased, although a used vehicle, is just top notch!!
Awesome car buying experience, other dealerships I've been to would have me waiting there all day, but this one I was in and out in a few reasonable hours. The personnel here are not only professional, but also easy to talk to.
Found what I was looking for. Friendly and knowledgable without being pushy. Appreciated going above and beyond to help meet my needs and get the job done! Highly recommend Austin Sims for any future purchases!
I tried to purchase a new Corvette but could not get the attention necessary to do so. Expect weeks of lead time. Never thought I’d be saying this, but Kelley in Fort Wayne has the superior sales team.
Josh said he would get back with me the next day. After a week of waiting, I gave up. I guess they have people with the kind of money to purchase a Corvette lining up daily. Updated to 1 star after unprofessional response from Josh. I urge you to read through these reviews prior to visiting.
Parts and service departments are high priced in my opinion. The used car sales lady i worked with was great, easy to talk to and seemed to care about getting me into a better vehicle.
They fixed one issue, but said they couldn't figure out another one of the problems with my vehicle. Which is fine because I got it taken care of myself. But I asked them to check my key fob to see why wasn't working and they told me it was bad and I needed a new one which would cost $250. It turns out that my key fob just needed reprogrammed because my battery had died. I ended up reprogramming it myself and It took less than one minute to reprogram it.
Overall we had a good experience. Just wish they would have given us our deal early on rather than having to negotiate back and forth. Just be careful when going through the loan processlisten carefully and ask questions. They try get you to "buy more" by talking quickly and saying "sign here" when you don't have to
I just needed a tire repaired. From scheduling my same day appointment through everything else, I was treated very professionally. The service manager and staff were very helpful with all the questions I had. My car also got vaccumed and washed which was totally unexpected! Fantastic experience! Thank you!
Worst dealership ever. Went in after work but did not have my wife with me to sign off to trade or buy the truck I was looking at. I test drove a truck and liked how it drove and WAS A SERIOUS BUYER. I brought my truck as a trade and they low balled a trade offer without properly looking it over and refused to look at my truck further due to the fact I was not able to sign off and do the deal today and stating that the used car manager and valuation department were way too busy and if I was not ready to buy, they would not look at my truck (the salesman said this about 3 times). I even pointed to a comparable truck on their lot with the same exact miles and same year, but they we're stubborn to go out of their way for a valuation. With the trade in offer and after reconditioning my truck(I used to work at a car dealership so I know the tricks), they would make $5000 or so off of me and my truck. He also kept repeatedly bugging me about a deposit on the truck. I WAS SERIOUS but they were way to arrogant to give me the time of day so I will go somewhere else where my time and money are valued.
I purchased a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu from Ben Davis.
The interest rate for the financing was decent, and the financial person (Hari) took some extra time to revise the agreement so that the terms were more favorable after finding out additional information.
Additionally, the interest rate was more favorable than I obtained from another area Chevrolet dealership for my last loan about a year ago. It could be due to changing interest rates or some other factor I'm not aware of, though.
Personally I'm satisfied with them.
Found the truck I wanted, got the deal is wanted, salesman was kind and courteous, but when I got to the financing part, the finance guy tried to shove the extended warranty down my throat after repeatedly telling him "not interested", it took me over an hour to strictly sign the papers. It should have taken 15 minutes, hate to think how many people have pressured into something they don't want. Spent $28000 on a truck and it came with an empty tank of fuel, my advice is come with your own financing options, the vehicles are all nice and clean, but overall experience was average at best
