If I️ could leave zero stars I️ absolutely would. This is one of the worst hotels I️ have ever stepped foot in. Upon entering the hotel was hot as all hell. The elevator was in terrible condition and the maintence women even commented on how she dislikes the management there. Once we entered the hallway to the room the place appeared as I️t was falling apart. The room was even worse. The air conditioner was set on 90 degrees and only the heat worked. We changed I️t to cool and I️t was still blowing hot hair. After asking the lady at the desk why this was happening, she replied that I️t was seasonal and that there is no AC during cooler months and recommended opening the door to the balcony. The room also had a leaking ceiling and the furniture was completely falling apart with water damage. We immediately demanded a full refund and hightailed I️t right out of there. 0/10 would never recommend.
PS. The parking for this hotel is $15 a day and the spaces would fit a smart car if you’re lucky, so expect to squeeze in the space, barely get out of your car, and get lost in a maze.
Also, the ladies at the front desk were the only redeeming quality of this place. They helped with the refund and the girl at the front desk said I️ was cute 😁
The biggest negative to this hotel is that they can't have the heat and air on at the same time for the building. It was a million degrees in our room. The fact the windows opened made our visit so much more pleasant. I was happily surprised at the location and price of this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel design was quirky and old which is awesome. The weirdest part was our window opened and you could touch the structure next door. Also, every morning someone was standing on the street yelling down into this tiny almost alley "Stella!!" Overall it was a great experience and I would stay again.
really wasn't the best experience with Barclay hotel downtown Atlanta. The room wasn't clean, we had to switch rooms because it was freezing cold in our first room. My friend and I both feel the staff was unprofessional we asked for housekeeping before leaving out expecting it would be done by the time we got back (we were gone for a few hours) we came back an nothing was done. we had to ask again. Also, the coffee maker in the room did not work and the hallways didn't have a pleasant smell. The heat would turn to cool without anyone touching it it was uncomfortable. They are really outdated I wouldn't recommend anyone staying here. We most definitely will not be back at this hotel. Grateful we enjoyed everything else outside of this hotel.
The stay started off great! The women who checked me in on Wednesday evening was wonderful and the late night attendant was helpful with the parking garage, both being so friendly!! The room was nicely appointed, I’d just recommend new windows and proper signage If you’re going to change the name, finish Neither of those would have made me leave less than a 5 star review however
Sometime early morning the AC turned to heat, even though that’s not where I had it set, making the room very uncomfortable. The cleaning staff banged on the door at 9am, even with the do not disturb tag hanging on the door and check out being at 11am. So between the immense heat and the banging, I lost sleep..The morning desk staff was also far less friendly than the evening/night staff. These are the reasons I chose a 3 out of 5 star rating.
The only redeeming thing about this place is the staff. They were all extremely friendly and helpful, and I'm glad they were there to help make our stay reasonably pleasant. The building and facilities have seen better days, though, and whoever owns it doesn't seem to be taking care of it. Sinks slow to drain, tub/shower fixtures that leak, dressers that look like they were bought at a second-hand store with drawers that don't close right, an elevator that has to be reset every once in a while to work properly (and which has some weird issue with not being able to properly display the floor number for upper floors), etc, etc. The list can go on, but you get the point. This was rated as a two-star hotel when I made my reservation, so I realize I need to have realistic expectations, but honestly, if it was really rated one-and-a-half stars, I would place it closer to one.
For what I paid, in downtown Atlanta, the hotel is exactly what I expected. I would describe it as clean but old. The staff was absolutely wonderful which is where all these stars are coming from. They were so lively, vibrant, helpful, and just genuinely good people. Very down to earth.
With that all being said, the hotel does need some work. Everything was clean, the majority of the items were just old. I go back to price for this; if you want new and up-to-date, you're going to pay for it. The bathroom needs a good tile cleaning and re-silconing at least in my room.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The location was smack dab in the middle of what I needed easily within walking distance. They have a decent breakfast and paid parking is right across the street.
Located within walking distance of the train station and many attractions. Rooms are decent and there is free breakfast. Recommended.
This hotel is beyond nasty, the rooms are dirty and stink. The staff is very non-caring and unhelpful. The manager is no better, she could care less if you stay or not. Do not waste your money here, pay a little more and go elsewhere!
Hotel was as clean as one could expect. Service was very nice. Hotel staff in the lobby even complimented my shoes. Very good service. Good check out time. The whole experience was great. Good downtown location and everything. 5 stars
The location is great for all tourist attractions and within walking distance to almost every Atlanta has to offer. The breakfast being offered was excellent, and the staff was more than helpful. However, there is no pool which when I booked the hotel it was insinuated there would be one. And when we were checking out, there was an issue about us not paying for the parking garage when we did. After fifteen minutes of arguing with the clerk, we determined i was right. Then there was the electrical issue where the light bulb kept blowing out and the plugs would fail to charge. When we addressed this with the manager, he dismissed it as being a user problem and not the hotel's. I dont take kindly to be made fun of or made to feel stupid. And it is now called the Quality hotel in case your GPS doesn't locate it.
Convenient to the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coke, Atlanta SkyView, Atlanta Underground, and everything else downtown at a great price. Beds could be softer and the bathroom could be cleaner at check-in, but it was an overall great stay!
Decent room, bathroom could be cleaner but breakfast is good and very close to lots of attractions and restaurants downtown.
Friendly staff, clean room, good breakfast!! I'd definitely stay here again. The price was great for the location.
Very comfortable, convenient to downtown attractions, CNN, Centennial Park, Coca Cola world, aquarium, right on the Atlanta Streetcar line, and the friendliest staff I have come across in a very long time. I highly recommend!
I've been staying here for the last 3 years during Dragon Con. Great rates, rooms have always been clean. Staff is awesome!! Can't wait to return.
