This place is a hidden gem. Great food, good service. I highly recommend the rack of lamb with the Argentina Malbec. This meal was worth way more than what they charge. Great place to come.

We made a reservation, but still had to wait for our table for four people, about 15 minutes. Food was good but was slightly warm in temperature. Had to ASK for more water instead of wait staff just routinely refilling our glasses. Table had to be leveled because of uneven flooring. (Fix it before your customers arrive) It was too warm in the restaurant also. It was a humid evening and it was not refreshing.

Barcelona Restaurant is a real jewel on Western Ave. In Albany, NY. It is quite small and cozy, so I would suggest calling ahead to make sure a table is available. My family and I popped over for dinner and we're lucky enough to get a table. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is hot and delicious, especially welcome on a cold and rainy night. I had chicken Citron, tasty breasts with a touch of lemon. My husband tried the chicken paella, which disappeared quickly, and my son had the swordfish putanesca-he could not finished the dish. We saved a little room for dessert and shared the vanilla leche- delicious cake served with whipped cream and various berries. We have been to the Barcelona several times and have never been disappointed. Great eating!

Came in about half hour after opening and it was for a party of two, the first hostess/waitress turned away from seating us and told someone else to. Once the other hostess came, she asked how many, stated 2, then she got on the phone and began taking down another reservation as we stood and waited. Walked out shortly after, I'm sure the food's delicious, but good service goes a long way

Food is very good. Wait staff not overly attentive. I got my Arnold Palmer when we ordered, then I couldn't catch her eye until they brought the food out. At that point I asked for a refill and she said, "No problem." Then she did 10 things before she got the drink. I was able to finally get a refill with about 5 bites to go on my meal. They also shouldn't be so stingy on the rolls; doling out one per person. They bring it in a normal size basket. Leave it. Overall, the food quality overshadows the poor service, but if your looking for the whole meal experience, you're not going to get it here.

The atmosphere, food, and service were outstanding. Our party of six went to Barcelona for Easter dinner and not one of us left disappointed. The bruchetta appetizer, seafood paella, red sangria, and coconut flan were standouts. We already started planning our next visit before we finished our dinners. Barcelona is suitable for a romantic dinner for two but is also family friendly and accommodating to large groups.

Great food and even better service. Plus an option for more casual dining at their expansive wine bar, go on Wednesday nights for best bartender. Alacarte menu is the best option.

Unfortunately our experience was not good. After waiting 30 minutes for someone to come to our table (AND, stopping 2 employees to ask if someone was coming to wait on us) we finally were asked for our drink order. When our waitress actually came to the table she was very brash and unfriendly. There were 4 of us and all our meals were overcooked. I asked for a rare steak, was given a medium well steak, and then told I should have asked for it to be "seared". I guess the "chef" does not understand rare. While our appetizers and dessert were good, we will not be returning.

Amazing!
We come here for the majority of our wedding anniversaries and every year that we do its wonderful and never disappoints. The staff is awesome, food is great and the drinks are even better! Definitely a must try for anyone who hasn't!
