Good brunch, very inexpensive package. Service was friendly
Great Italian restaurant with a good selection of wines. Usually a spot is available at the bar
One of my favorite places to go when I'm in NY, there are a couple locations and I've been to all of them! Do yourself a favor and get a bombolinni, you won't be disappointed.
Perfectly lovely not-Starbucks. Quiet, unpretentious despite incredibly expensive brewing equipment. OTOH, other than that not-Starbucks thing, nothing to really get excited about.
you whining about a lack of classy casual spots?
here's a solution to your problemTaralucci E Vino which can wine and dine your worries away.
classy casual wine bar (full bar!). medium sized bar area with a fair amount of seating. outdoor (sidewalk) seating in warmer months. and a large restaurant dining room for sit-down needs like dinner! the decor is a mix of old-school and modern italian decor. it's tasteful and minimal. space works well for after-work drinks, date night, relaxed business meals or wining-n-dining out-of-towners. the restaurant & bar have a lot of flexibility for a variety of dining and drinking needs.
the happy hour is pretty generous (great prices & choices): drink deals on wine, beer, and a classic cocktail. there are shareable bites like buffalo milk ricotta, roasted grape and honey on focaccia; salumi & formaggi (charcuterie) board; and caponata (eggplant, tomatoes, capers) on focaccia. the reduced prices during happy hour aren't cheap but they are a great value for what Tarallucci is dishing out in the early evening.
crowd: business types & professionals in the area, start-upper execs, local well-heeled sorts, and residents in the area.
staff: friendly-ish. not too chatty. but responsive to questions and needs. just ask. and hello and thank you go a long way.
drops mic bc my hands are full with this Negroni + salumi & formaggi
Service was excellent. The cheesecake was good. The SPAGHETTI AL POMODORO was ok. The Capari Spritz was terrible. Would definitely go again because I tasted the chicken and potatoes of my friend and they were very good. A little salty but good.
Great spot for meetings. Super decent Italian food and blends a fancy yet casual vibe pretty well. There is better Italian to be had in NY but certainly worth checking out.
Wonderful wine and amazing cheeses. Knowledgeable and polite staff.
Some fantastic, authentic Italian cuisine. The owner is amazing, nice guy.
Solid Italian restaurant. The eggplant rigatoni is the best dish and the olive oil and bread at the beginning of the meal is great.
Overall good lunch spot to bring a bigger group. We have 8 in our party and the staff treated us well. Food was well presented and in reasonable quantity.
