*** Customers Beware ***
Walked in at 745pm for our reservation just to find a line out the door of people trying to get in !!! It was chaos!
Walked up to a hostess to inquire if i could just check in and her response was, "you'll need to wait in line like everyone else".
The line was out the door as the "hostess was checking people in" (in 32 degree weather). Found out that the one hostess was actually spending her time trying to find new reservations for walkin's she was arguing with people who said "i Did have a reservation" but were clearly lying and other people trying to find any available table for the night.
Now it's 8pm and i finally get to the front just to learn that they didn't have our table ready !!! So my party of 3 is literally pushed up against a wall near a freaking sea of people in the lobby trying to avoid the chaos of everyone walking by. A Freaking mess .
Come on Tao. You have a full lobby of people trying too squeeze into any table they can get while those of us with reservations are waiting up 20+ minutes while you try to sort it all out !!!
Food and service was good but the inefficient check in certainly wasn't worth the stress of "check in"
Looking at the history of recent reviews it appears this is an ongoing issue.
Tao - it's not rocket science. Figure it out.
PS - your pepper beef was way over salted and your spring rolls are actually fried egg rolls. Consider changing the name in your menu .. and your drinks are ridiculously over priced.response / report this review -

Go here if you want a terrible experience. Waiting behind a gentleman to check in for our reservation and 4 white women decide their time is more precious than ours and cut right in front. The employee speaks to them anyway and when I say “you know we were waiting” smiles and continues to talk to them. The women is going about talking about her reservation meanwhile her 3 cowardly friends put their heads down. They leave and the Tao employee has to check us in and is still smiling like the racist idiot she is. not sorry no apology nothing. I should have just left so I wouldn’t have to give them $250 of my non white hard earned money but it was for a birthday and I stayed. Made these reservations a month ago and asked for a nice table with a good view and got the table on the side of the Buddha next to the bathroom. Don’t come here if you are in a party of 2 because they simply won’t care about you. Expect bad service and mediocre food, it’s for the ambiance which is loud full of tourists and overall ridiculously rude people. On principle , the Instagram photos are not worth it. Never again

Food was amazing but experience was soured at the beginning. Had a reservation but the restaurant was clearly over booked and we got sat 1.25hrs after our scheduled reso time. After complaining to the GM he did correct things and send over drinks on the house. The rest of the experience was amazing. Beautiful inside, fantastic dinner service, and food. Fortune Cookie dessert was amazing!!!

Elegant and enjoyable dining! Great ambiance. The food is absolutely delicious. We tried the jumbo coconut shrimp and the shrimp pad Thai! Definitely a great place for both lunch and dinner. You can take coworkers or a date there and both would enjoy!

Wow wow wow. Jacob ordered our meal for us. It was quite possibly the best meal we ever had. He ordered us king crab sushi, sea bass and the duck with the pancakes as well as an out of this world rice with an egg in it, sausage as well. Truly made our trip to the big city. I cannot recommend Jacob and Tao more! Worth the price, and more. Thank you!

Fantastic food and great service. Did not need to wait long for the food.
The atmosphere was great. We were on ground floor this time which was nice but the view was not as good. Last time we were on second floor with a view of the whole restaurant but it was VERY hot.response / report this review -

Soo delicious!! I was so hyped about going to this restaurant because I have heard so many great things! I was not disappointed I ordered the sea bass and it was delicious! I also loved the theme of the restaurant and the prices were within my price range. I just enjoyed the experience and I would definitely visit next time in town!

Some say this place is overrated, but I would argue it's a must-try. Went on a Saturday night, and there was a great DJ spinning house, EDM, and lounge music. Food is pretty good and has creative presentation, especially the giant fortune cookie. Reservations are strongly recommended.

I was very surprised with the lack of professionalism from the greeting team.
The restaurant has great reviews and I am sure it is worth it, however the people working in the front should be more clear and more humble.
We came in and asked for a table and they told us no problem to wait a few minutes. Those minutes became 45min, even after asking a few times on whether or not we should wait or we could consider to leave. The least they could have done is to say the truth and, from there, we could make a decision. Such a poor service, should consider improving this.response / report this review -

The atmosphere was awesome. The food, not so much. My brother & mom got the lunch special (3 courses for $31.50 I believe). The vegetable rolls were pretty good. The chicken lettuce wrap was almost all oil. The chicken pad Thai tasted like fish. The flank steak salad tasted like it was hastily thrown together. The peanut cake was a weird passion fruit chocolate mix although the peanut ice cream that came with was very good. The chocolate zen parfait was pretty good! It was very expensive for below average food.

My girlfriend brought me here for my birthday. The decor and environment is extravagant and a super sized Buddha statue. Food however could be better. I made the mistake of ordering steak at an Asian restaurant and it was a horrible decision. It feels like 80% of their money went to decor and furnishings while 20% of it went to making quality food. If you come here, definitely order a meal from the Asian cuisine.

Came here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and it was fantastic. Everything was extraordinary!! The place is amazingly huge and the decor on the inside is unique. The service was excellent, the food was authentic and so tasty. Cocktails were delicious and they have a little bit of everything for everyone. I highly recommend a reservation because of the volume of people in the restaurant. The environment is so welcoming and it's just beautiful in there. Strongly recommend this place if you're looking for a different experience and great food.
