A heart hospital? Really? It's not Place I feel safe for my husband who happens to be in there right now. I'm on my way to remove the consent to treat that I signed because I want him out of there ASAP for his safety so he can actually make it through this ordeal. There have been multiple mistakes including transporting him from the ER to ICU and no one checking the oxygen tank so they ran out of oxygen along the way and the nurses were checking empty beds in the hallway for a tank that had oxygen in it to get him to ICU safely. Needless to say my son and I were dumbfounded at this. They continued on to ICU from this point without oxygen going to his brain and my son and I had to remain in the ICU waiting room until we were allowed in. God only knows how long he had no oxygen. That's just one mistake. I will update my review once he is safe The nurse so far that I have witnessed making the most mistakes is Nana. She is an ICU nurse. She is one of the nurses who transferred my husband from the emergency Room to the ICU knowing that he was not breathing on his own and was incubated and transported him without oxygen in the tank. Nana and Rayna were checking empty beds in the hallway looking for an oxygen tank as my husband payed there not getting oxygen to his brain and possibly causing permanent damage. I still don't know. The attending Dr Stola is his dr in the ICU. They said that he has a cold. So basically they have no clue what happened or what is wrong with him. They refused to allow me to pull my authorization to consent to treat. I don't want him here anymore! If anyone can offer me any information please help me save my husband

This is by far the best hospital I have been to. They really care about their patients and getting them the care they need. Every single staff member- from the doctors, nurses, aids, technicians, to the cleaning staff- were incredibly welcoming and provided outstanding care. They made me feel safe and comfortable.

This was one of the most horrific experiences of my life. It has taken away any safety of my place in the world of receiving help after experiencing this. There were a few very nice nurses that I greatly appreciate, especially the very nice one that helped me get out of this awful place, but for the most part it ruined every ounce of security that a hospital is a safe place to go. You lie in this room and when you press your nurses button, you get a nurse's aide, who tells you that they will tell the nurse your request and then you pretty much never hear back. Evidently, the nurses are probably overworked, since when they were able to come in, I found most of them to be considerate and kind. After one day of testing and everything coming back normal, including an MRI that the nurse told me said basically everything was completely normal, the Dr. then decided that I needed to spend an extra night to get a MRI with contrast, since on rare occasions this could show up 6 months later that something was actually there. He informed me that he would be in early for rounds, so seemed to be implying that I would be able to leave fairly early in the morning. Also, I pretty much went without food for the time I was there since they couldn't get my diet needs met.Anyway, I decided that since I was so uncomfortable in the hospital and various other problems I encountered that I just wanted to leave. That was when the problems really started. Evidently, once you enter their world. your life is not your own anymore. I was warned that if I left "AMA", that my insurance would not pay, that I would no longer have access to my medical records and that all the tests that I had done would have to be redone because I would no longer have access to them. I was told that my neurologist would no longer follow up with me,, etc, etc. Not that I cared about that,as I was not happy with him at all. I should have listened to a nurse friend of mine who told me before this happened that it would, because this is, in her opinion, there way of getting the most money out of you. Anyway, after I forced myself to spend a horrible uncomfortable night, I was informed that my doctors would be basically showing up, who knows when, and I was basically just stuck. I had had a horrific night of sleep and was now just done and I told them I was leaving. The threats started again and their attitude of "Oh Well",when we get around to getting you out of here that's when you get out of here, I lost it. I took off my heart monitor and informed them that I was leaving. Eventually about an hour and a half later, I was luckily out of this most horrible place. My nurse for the day seemed to be a very nice nurse and he was helpful. I don't know where I will go in the future for health emergencies,

Everything was going great, I was feeling like finally after 5 years something good might of flown my way unfortunately it was tell, a few bad apples ruined my experience and because I could us a walker to get to the bathroom in my own room instead of waiting hours for them to get around to me, if they hadn't forgotten about it So because I have the strength to be able to hop a few feet to the toilet means I am okay to go home Hey let's put all the people with incurable diseases or who have bullet wound, they will all be fine on the streets They should have all their licences and funding pulled

First time ever being at this hospital and I would have to say it's been the worst experience I've ever had at a hospital. I'm only speaking on the behalf of the emergency room, not the rest of the hospital. The staff was rude and inconsiderate. I understand it's an emergency room so there's a lot going on but there wasn't a sense of urgency or any rush to help the patients. There was another patient screaming for help for the entire time we were there, it went on for hours. The Physican Assistant came in said she would be back in with supplies and never came back, she never even came to back to say there would be a delay. She never came back at all. I would not recommend this hospital for emergency care. The only service that I received that was sincere came from a janitor. People in the medical field are supposed to care for their patients well being and overall care, that was not the case.

Wow, all the bad reviews regarding Banner Baywood Medical Center makes me scared to come here for any emergency. At first I was excited my husband and I found a place to retire near here. Now, I am wondering if we have an emergency, we should drive the distance to Mercy Gilbert Hospital off of 202 and Val Vista. Every time we went to Mercy's ER, we were always taken care of within 30 min or less. The one time I went to Banner Baywood for outpatient surgery was positive but never visited their ER.
I had an out patient surgery at Banner Baywood last year and was impressed with the quality of patient care I received. The pre-register and Check-In personnel were professional and courteous. The day of check in was great--I felt confident and all fears were melted away. My husband was informed of my status during surgery, given a tour and showed the RX downstairs for any prescriptions I would need filled afterwards. After surgery, they made sure I was awake and alert before wheeling me to the car. My overall experience with Dr Simms and Banner Baywood was positive. That was why I was excited to think that the place we moved to was close to this hospital. But after reading all these negative reviews, I don't feel confident at all to come here for any emergency.response / report this review -

I love everything about Banner Baywood Medical Center. I'm an RN & a Board Certified Case Manager, so I know an outstanding hospital when I'm in one. Every department, from the ER to the patient care units, to the Medication Management Clinic- literally every department is superior. Banner Health lives their statement, which is placed on every floor throughout the hospital "People Above All." The staff- every team member in the hospital is superior. They are currently doing some remodeling. I was a bit lost. Sure enough, an employee, as usual, asked if he could help me in any way. He walked me right to where I needed to be. Talking about Service Excellence! I love Banner Baywood.

Banner Baywood ER and Hospital I wouldn't recommend.
Been there Many times over the Years. My Treatment there in the ER several times was Very Unsatisfactory.
In the Hospital there for Epilepsy. Was Treated badly. Sheet's never Changed, until the Head Nurse ORDERED my Door Locked on my 5th Day there. The Same Day, my husband and Medical Power of Attorney was Ignored by the STAFF neurologist, they Kicked me out, and I was Still Seizing. Sick, unable to Stand. Had been pushed down some Stairs, and Had no Teeth, they were Broken off at The Gum line. Couldn't Eat their Food.
That was the ONLY day even a Bath, or Filthy Sheet's were changed. The Day the Neurologist wouldn't Listen, and Forced me Out, when I was too weak and Sick, to even Stand Up.response / report this review -

My mother had surgery scheduled for today. The hospital made her wait all day, fasting and no water to tell her that she can not have surgery today because of a possible contamination. I can appreciate the effort to keep germs away from patience however the real problem was a machine malfunction, fiund out from a doctor, which they knew about prior to my mother's scheduled surgery. The only words that come to mind when I think of this hospital is negligence. They not only canceled her surgery they couldn't even supply her with the proper paperwork nor refund her money.
This hospital is in dire need of a reconstruction from the ground up.response / report this review -

Dr was very understanding but had fever for over a week at 104.18 and 103.04 the norm lowest was at hospital 99.98 got home fever back no ride to get my meds also have Pannonia and strept trowt so treat and street i understand i wasn't dead yet but dont want to be they were all real friendly witch confused me i feel like im in same boat kuz i am

Extremely disappointed from the onset and over the next two weeks. Horrible communication. The nurses and CNA's were professional and caringet. The problem is how the hospital is being run. Too many examples. Go anywhere else!

The only reason I gave 4 stars is because i waited 2hr 40 min before taken back in the ER. in pain the whole time with an appendicitis. But there was this ER Tech named Ebony, man she made the wait worth it. she was personable, funny just an awesome person. Ebony, my wife n myself got yelled at by the PA because we were too loud laughing, it was awesome! (I'm 41 years old). I get admitted and get to my room level 5 and my first RN named Chelsea is waiting and greets us and she is another awesome person. Great bedside manner with a great sense of humor. She got me scheduled for my surgery and even took time to help us give advice to a sick friend who was texting my wife and She made the first leg of my stay great and I appreciate it cuz I hate hospitals. After my surgery i get to my room and meet my second RN Gabriel. He is another awesome person. We talked about real things and joked about stuff too. He was really cool and compassionate. made my over night stay comfortable, it was cool. Morning comes and Gabriel introduces me to my final RN Natalie. I didn't have too much interaction with her because I wasn't there long enuff but she made sure my pain was controlled before i left and rolled me out to my car and we joked around and had fun on the way out. She was pretty cool. IDK how it all works but if you get any of these people I mentioned you're in great hands and u can relax n have fun. to them I say Thank You very much for making my stay actually pleasurable! Experience is exceptional. Both my parents are in the care of this hospital at this time. Very compassionate and respectful of my parent's needs. Questions are answered and explained to make sure we (family ) understand all outcomes. Thank you Banner Baywood ICU Staff in Heart Hospital Department, ER Staff, and General illness Department Staff.

Was the worst experience ever!! Was their last night with my family. Was having so much abdominal pain. We got there around 10:30pm didn't get a room until about 2:30am. ER waiting are was practically dead because so many people left because they were waiting for hours just to get a room. Nobody communicated with me. I asked if my 3 year old daughter could have some crackers while we waited, the staff seemed highly annoyed by me even asking this question. Fast forward We finally get a room around 2:30am, waited an additional 30 min for someone to come back. Saw the ENT first did my IV, her name was Kelsey. She pushed that needle so hard into my arm and I made a comment to her, her response was well I have to get it in wow okay. Also before she started the IV I asked should i change into a gown she said yes I'll turn around for you to change.. umm sure?? So I barely had my shirt off and she turns around and stares like hi turn around please! I asked her to tie the gown, she got annoyed by me asking that. So after all this she left. then after waiting for another half hour the med doctor in training came in she was nicer out of all of them. Asked me questions for like 20 minutes and said I'll be back with the doctor. Another half hour went by and they came back.. the doctor was so awful!! She said why are we gonna do more testing on you and not find anything.. I'm gonna go ahead and discharge you, and follow up with your G.I specialist. And left! WTF!! I waited hours for this bullshit??!!! Never received treatment, and still left in major pain. Good job Banner Baywood get new staff, and change how you treat your patients. Place is an effing joke! Next time I'll make The drive. Banner Gateway is twenty times better and knows how to treat people. Only came here because it was 5 minutes away from my house. Never ever ever again!!!!
