This school doesn’t fund for the poor and has horrible ways of teaching you should never let your students go here and all of the staff are always angry and aren’t helpful

This school is TERRIBLE. The teachers don't know how to speak basic english. Mr.Huang is a perfect example for this, after receiving multiple complaints from both students and parents, the school still hasn't done anything about it. The teachers also has no respect for students at all. The school does not stick with their rules. They set a system where if students were late they get one freebie, and if it continues, you will get detentions. They did not stick to that. As a student here I can say that, when this first started, I was late for the first time instead getting off with a warning, I got detention. Plus the front office was very rude about it. They also call everyone on your emergency list saying that you were late, if you don't pick up, they will continue calling you. If you call 2 times per week for the past 3 weeks, I think they'll get the idea by the first call. There is no need to call that much. They continued to add more rules practically every week now. For the past year here, I have learned nothing, every night, I have to use Google to understand my homework. This school is a joke. Parents, don't have your child come here. You are wasting your child's education and technically you're supporting the worst education a student can get.

My child currently attends. This school is geared for the 80 percent that have no learning issues. My child has some learning issues and is on a IEP. It has literally taken the threat of GOD to this school to get my child the help he needs. Honestly. Teachers blow off IEP meetings that they are required to attend. Teachers DO NOT adhere to the accomodations written into the IEPS, so your kid has to carry his accomodations with him to show the teachers and even then they don't adhere to the FEDERAL document. Mrs. Sherer the English teacher is a big one for that. She feels she does not have to attend to the accomodations for whatever reason. The Science teacher Huggins was the same, has zero interest in helping SPED kids. My child is in a special math class for kids with learning issues and they have had at least three different teachers in that class so far this year. The staff is either absent frequently, or leaves in the middle of the year. Honestly if it weren't for my child's case worked, helping us then my child would be at a different school by now. They are most concerned with those kids who do sports or who naturally get good grades. Anyone who struggles is just ignored or you have to literally fight tooth and nail for each issue that arises. If your child is within normal limits, and loves sports then this school is perfect. Anyone else might be better off looking at other options. I stay bc it is close to our house and as a single mom it would be difficult to get my child to another school.

Highly disappointed with this school. They create courses that come to find out, have no established curriculum to, swell, they do not uphold to solid lesson plans. It would be nice to see a year where they can actually hold onto their teachers. But rather, these teachers are vacating in droves, and finding better career opportunities. As a parent or as a student, it shouldn't be too long until you realize the joke that is this school. Let alone the Higley Unified district. I feel no remorse leaving this school at a 1 star review, and they only earn that single star because they at least, made an attempt at one point.

It's an average school, and from what I've seen only from being here only for the past 6 weeks of starting is that the District could be better, and that some teachers should get better at teaching.. I am not saying, the teachers are bad, but they are ok. I mean, they have good technology to help with learning and academic standards.. But they could be better. I transferred from Hamilton High School (CUSD), and there school is more professional then this one.. You can't drop off food for your son or daughter, yet at my old school you can.. I would transfer back to my old school if I could.. Because this school doesn't care at all about their students, they only care about their football team and all the money that is raised always goes to the football team.. Also, this school forces you go wear lanyards, the students/me are treated like cattle.. Also some of the teachers are really disrespectful towards you, acting like they actually know what you go through everyday. I mean some of the other students are nice, but some are just bullies.
