Dr Neal is very kind and thorough. To any patient where pediatric urologist is needed he is the best. Puts both my child and myself at ease within a minute or two if walking in room!!
I went into the ER about a year and a half ago. They took my insurance info but didn't request the copay. I asked about it and they said they wouldn't bill me until insurance went through. I didn't think much about it.
A few weeks later my father calls me saying the hospital was trying to charge his insurance for my visit. Both my father and I called multiple times in attempt to fix the situation.
This goes on for a few months but eventually it is fixed. I send the information to my insurance just in case there is any more confusion. My insurance confirms payment and life goes on.
Suddenly I am getting bills from the hospital claiming my insurance didn't pay and I am required to pay the full amount. I immediately call insurance, they say they definitely paid the full amount. They ask for the hospitals informatipn/address to send the proof of payment again.
Silence for another few months. I get another bill for the same visit. I call, the lady on the phone confirms that I did pay and isn't sure why it is showing up like that. She says she will put a hold on the account and try to get this fixed. I say okay.
A few weeks later I get a debt collectors notice for this damn bill. I call the collector, they say they got the "debt" from the hospital. The hospital that told me everything was paid up
I argue back and forth with the debt folks and they say they will check in with the hospital. I call insurance and they ask for the addresses of the hospital and the debt folks. I do. They send them, for the third or fourth time, confirmation that they already paid.
I don't hear anything again from the hospital or the collectors for MONTHS. But suddenly the "debt" that I shouldn't have is being reflected on my credit report.
I am currently debating on seeking out legal action. I went in for a severe migraine and dehydration from puking all day. The bill was 700 and something dollars. It was paid, but somehow I am being asked to pay it again?
This has become an absolute nightmare and my life is being actively interfered with by this "debt."
The hospital is rundown and dirty. My husband had to wait in the ER waiting room with patients waiting to be taken in to be seen, while I had surgery. They apparently have no waiting room for people whose loved ones are undergoing surgery. The care sub-optimal. I will drive to Atlanta to a better hospital if ever in need of serious medical care.
MY GRANDSON HAS BEEN AT MCG SEVEN TIMES SINCE HE WAS BORN. WE HAVE BEEN VERY PLEASED WITH THE CARE HE HAS ALWAYS RECEIVED HIS Dr. Is Dr. NEAL AND IS A GREAT DR. AND IS WONDERFUL DEALING WITH YOUNG PATIENTS. MY GRANDSON LOVES HIM AND BELIEVES Dr. NEAL CAN FIX ANYTHING. THE NURSES ARE KIND AND SWEET TO ALL OF THE FAMILY. HIS ROOM HAS ALWAYS BEEN SPACIOUS AND CLEAN. I WOULD RECCOMEND Dr. NEAL TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS A PEDIATRIC UROLOGIST.
I went in to this hospital emergency room at 12:30 am with shooting pains in my back. I won't sugar coat it, I was screaming in pain. I was also from out of town. I drove myself there and explained the pain to the young man behind the desk. He took my info and insurance card. 10 minutes later this other young man who was admitting called me in. I'm still screaming with pain on a level 10+ and attempting to describe the pain. He promptly told me i had to sit in a wheelchair and im telling him i can't sit at all. He tells me if I don't sit, i wont be treated. I try to sit thinking he is going to wheel me back to get help. He pushes me into another waiting room to sit "so i won't disturb the other patients with my screaming". As he pushes me, I get another sharp pain and I fall out of the wheelchair and crack my knee. He then tells me to get up off the floor and stop screaming. "You just stop acting like that", he said. He proceeded to tell me that if I was going to stay, my wait would be 2 HOURS!. I decided to get out of there and take my chances at another hospital. I found Doctors Hospital 6 miles away and they got me right in. Turns out I was passing a kidney stone. No wonder!
Do not enter into this hospital. Terrible, terrible empathy and triage.
If they had a negative 5 stars that's what I'd give this hospital worst service ever. The male nurse bent the needle when putting in IV in my arm then showed other nurse which both were laughing like my pain was there for their amusement. The one woman doctor did help but not having a urologist on site blew me out the water for getting any real help; which the ambulance driver basically told me the hospital could treat kidney stones; obviously he didn't know what he was talking about.
I quickly received medical attention from the ER. My wait was no longer then 20-30 minutes. ER staff were great & very friendly.
I also had surgery here 2 years ago & was quickly put on the surgery schedule. I was a first case. It was early but went down on time & was back home before I knew it. The staff on 8 West was so friendly& put my fears at ease!! Couldn't recommend a better place to have surgery!!!
I came to visit My mother from New York and had no clue where i was. Thankfully i ran into a young man named Jeremy Serrano who is part of the Concierge Dept. not only did he point me to the right direction he took me right to my mothers room. It did not stop their he also helped me book a room in the Econlodge directly across the street from the hospital. My mother then told me that he stopped by and checked on her to make sure she was comfortable and to find out of she needed anything. I wish i would of been able to see him before i left and give him a big hug and handshake and tell him thank you for making my mother feel that more important..Thank you Jeremy Serrano for showing us the care and love during or visit to Augusta Medical Center
Went to ER with stepmom. OMG12:30 pm- 9:45 pmwhat a nightmare. The first people you encounter are rude and VERY unprofessional. I know they deal with a lot of unique situations, however that is NO excuse for the lack of professionalism. Once you get in a room, five hours and forty five minutes later, you are discharged, with service that should have been taken care of in no more than 2 (TWO) hours. The hospital should consider this DISGRACEFUL. On the flip side, the care from the nurses and doctors was very professional. They treated patient with care and concern. Ii would just be better to consider not only the illness, but the age of the patient. Most older patients, aren't able to sit like this for hours and hours, and hours, and hours.
Great staff on 7 south--Jessica, Makenzie, Janis and all the other nurses and techs were great and worked so hard to take care of my sister, Nancy Darby. Thanks also to the Resp Therapists, the Speech therapist and other staff who helped her recovery. The housekeeping staff were professional and thorough also. GO 7 South!!
My grandmother entered the facility very near death, was given excellent care by an excellent staff and her health was restored to its full potential. She raved about how well every staff member treated her. Thank you to all who cared for her!
My father was admitted Tues March 8 2017. Staff was friendly and professional. He had his kidney removed . His doctor never came to see him after doing surgery. The room was extremely small and dirty. There was no sink in the bathroom and a small, old sink which leaked in the room. There was feces all over the chair seat in the room. There was a small, old, uncomfortable sleeper loveseat I slept on the first night. It was an old metal wire frame with thin vinyl over it. The bar from sleeper stuck in my ribs all night. Frame was uncomfortable and squeaky. I had the marks of the wire frame all over my legs and arms next day. There is one person responsible for cleaning 41 rooms. The room itself was not much bigger than a closet. He's 84 y/o, had a kidney removed and was sent home after 3 days and never saw his surgeon except pre-operative ly. Left with blisters all over his stomach from tape as well. We drove all the way from Columbia because we were referred from his Urologist to Dr. Maddi. I have pictures of the run down, outdated, small, dirty room for anyone who wants to see them. I would really like it if the President of the hospital would sleep on that pull out sofa for 1 night. I'll bet you can't! Room 4638Hospital room from hell. It was like something out of the 1930's.
Here from out of state for a family member in the surgery ICU on 3rd floor called The Commons. It is a pigsty in this waiting room. I called housekeeping last night to ask if it could be cleaned and was told that someone would be up.
As of this morning, it has still not been cleaned. I called back. It has been 5 hours and someone is cleaning the hall but has not popped her head in here. I thought our local hospital was dirty but this place is awful. Oh wait, here she is.
For the simple fact that this hospital is the main if not the only major hospital in the city of Augusta, I am absolutely disgusted with the emergency department of the facility. I'm not sure if they're low on staff nearly all the time or their urgency to see patients just doesn't exist. Your ER wait is almost gauranteed to be over 3 hours, the staff is just simply careless and the facility is unbearably disgusting and unsanitary.
