Had 2 keys made. They quickly showed me the area where keys are made, and made the keys very well. Price was good also
Good inventory and there’s always a salesperson near to help you find what you’re looking for. I feel lucky to have a neighborhood hardware store like this!
Every time I have come here the service has sucked. Their prices are outrageous and I honestly don't recommend them. If i could give zero stars I would.
Knowledgeable people that actually know what they are talking about and want to help you. I'm more than happy to pay a few bucks more than a big box store to support a great local business. They've always gone above and beyond for me.
Always staffed by incredibly helpful folks. They have coached me through multiple home maintenance projects I would not have completed on my own. Great shop!
Great place to find something that you may need to rent
Knowledgeable staff and stuff you can't get elsewhere.
Rented some equipment from them..all I can say is that they really need to do some maintenance on what they rent. We will probably try Stoughton Lumber for rental equipment from now on.
Great group of folks that help with any project you're working on. Always greet you with smile.
Very friendly staff, good selection of wild bird care products. Went here for my sister's birthday
Great hardware store. Staff is always extremely helpful.
What a really amazing group of dedicated people who work there. Mark, the owner, helped me personally when I needed to get supplies to do a few home projects. I will never go to any other hardware store as long as I live in Stoughton!
I needed to rent a rock climbing wall inflatable for an event and found Asleson's had a unit I was looking for. I called and spoke with a very nice young woman on the phone who quoted me a price that seemed very high, but I agreed to the price after she told me there was no wiggle room. I then asked for the unit to be delivered and was quoted a delivery and pick-up price of $30.00. I agreed to the prices and made the appointment for the rental, delivery and pick up of the unit. The week before the event, I received a call from Asleson's and they informed me that the delivery price I was quoted was wrong and it would be $125.00. After a conversation that didn't go my way as they refused to honor the price I was given by their employee, I decided that I would pick up and bring back the unit myself to save the $125.00. I picked it up and asked if there was anything else I needed. I was told that "everything I needed was in rolled up in the unit". It was placed in my van and I left. Upon unrolling the unit at the event in Middleton, I noticed that none of the required equipment was there. I called the store and asked if they could deliver the required equipment that was supposed to be 'Rolled up in the unit' and they said NO! Friday afternoon traffic from Middleton to Stoughton and back - took 2 hours for us to retrieve the equipment needed. When my driver arrived with the equipment, there were still items missing! These were items needed to allow us to safely operate the equipment. I called again, and was told to "just make due because that's all they used at a huge public event in Madison a few weeks before". We used the unit the best we could while maintaining the utmost safe standards for the guests. After returning the unit, I called and stopped in 4 times before the owner; Mark Asleson returned my call. After telling him about my experience, he offered no apology and refused any compensation for the less than quality service and product we received. Based on my experience and due diligence to allow them to make amends, I will never use and do not recommend shopping at Asleson's in Stoughton.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Spoke on the phone with the owner Mark about trading in a wood chipper on a brand new chain saw. He asked me to bring it over so he could look at it. We took it out of my trailer. He asked me if it ran. I said, "yes". Before I could say/do anything he started it. Sitting on top of the unit was the collection unit wich the machine promptly sucked in and ripped to shreds and damaged the machine. Mark (THE OWNER) grinned and said "oops sorry". We then went in and offered me next to nothing for the machine ($65 for a near mint condition name brand 10hp wood chipper) and refused to pay any damages! This wasn't just some kid that worked there. THIS WAS THE OWNER!
