One of the main highlights that you have to visit is this blue mosque. I was very excited to visit and maybe pray inside but it turned out it was closed for renovation. :( but we still get to take pictures from the outside and it’s still good enough! Beautiful textures and designs on the wall. And outside the area, there’s a garden full of tulips! Beautiful! We were lucky during winter time. One fine day, maybe we will visit again and get to go inside the mosque itself and appreciate its beauty more. ;) don’t forget to visit when you have the chance.

Most iconic mosque in Istanbul. You absolutely have to go check it out when you’re here. Unfortunately it was being renovated when we went but still had a wonderful view of it!

Very beautiful historic site to visit located in the heart of the old city. It is open to tourists with some dress restrictions for women. Its a very busy place and the lines may be long. Its worth the wait. This is an functioning Mosque so it may be closed some times for tourists. It is located near by the Hagia Sophia Museum.

A monumental peace of ottoman architecture
This place is a monumental peace of ottoman & islamic architecture. It is being renovated right now and apparently the work is going to continue until May 2018. I know this place from my previous visits and it’s one of the main reasons to visit Istanbul and enjoy such a beautiful mosque.response / report this review -

Free entrance, accessible until 6pm. Enter from visitor side if you aren’t there for worship. Breath taking mosque covered in Turkish tiles, ornamental wood carving, caligraphy and painted patterns from top to bottom inside. The outer facade, doors and the gates has some fine examples of Islamic geometric designs as well. The courtyard is also beautiful. I would recommend visiting to designers, artists and admirers as well as history lovers.
I unfortunately know that mosques favor males but I would still like the staff’s treatment of women improved. As a female you also have to cover your head and put on a long skirt provided if you want to go in. Still totally recommendable but disappointing for a woman to not be able to go beyond a certain point to admire the architectural beauty.response / report this review -

A beautifully stunning mosque and a MUST do if you are visiting Istanbul/Turkey. Both from outside and inside, the blue mosque would leave you mesmerized. Do take out sometime as even if you aren't a Muslim, you'd want to spend sometime sitting in the mosque and absorbing it's positive and peaceful energy.

Must visited place. No matter what your religion is, this mosque is opened for public, except in the prayer time only Muslim can enter and do praying. I was really exited the first time I enter this mosque, I could feel the spirit of Islam brotherhood. Luckily my hostel was very close to this mosque, so I could easily come to pray. In the night, you can sit in the mosque garden enjoying the street food and look at the seagulls or maybe other type of birds fly around the mosque.

Magnificent. Having seen beautiful mosques and cathedrals sprawling on acres and acres in multiples countries, the Blue Mosque still managed to amaze and leave in awe. It's a must see if your visiting Istanbul. It's free to go in and absorb the atmosphere.

Beautiful architecture outside as well as beautiful artwork inside. A lot of tourists and hence queues to get in mosque are long but they move fast. It's historical in regards to Christianity. One is expected to be respectful of the culture and hence some clothes are provided to cover up.

It found at the heart of İstanbul and one of the most busiest historical museum in Istanbul. Around the blue mosque Everywhere is decorated by beautiful flowers and green parks. You find everything is attractive and interesting especially the old ayasofia mosque.

If you go to Turkey you must visit the Blue Mosque. I pinnacle of both Christian and Islamic history as well as beautiful Architecture that will definitely be of interest to those whom enjoy both historic culture and ancient architecture.
whats even more interesting and not known to the majority is its relation to Little Haja Sophia mosque. located approximately 550m away from the main blue mosque; a 9 minute walk.
If you happen to visit the small mosque. Make sure to ask a local to show you the closed off secret passageway that connected both mosques together to ensure the safety of the emperor at the time in case of an attack.
It's closed off by a glass sheet but is easy to find and not guarded by anyone. Simply lift up the corner of the first prayer mat located on the right sight after the steps and it should be visible for all to see.

absolutely stunning and free to enter. it's beautiful outside and most definitely worth checking inside too. be mindful when entering mosques you should be respectful and dress appropriately. if you don't have appropriate clothing they will lend you a robe and headscarf to wear.

Definitely a must go when being in Istanbul. It's open for everyone. You will develop better (more positive) point of view on Islam. Visit this area during Ramadan, after sunset, the city turns into party atmosphere. People hang out, shop and celebrate. Love it.

It's a magnificent piece of art the complete mosque. The square is so big and you will be lost with all the amazing architecture around and inside the mosque. This is a MUST go if you are passing by in Turkey.

Amazing all over. The architecture is amazing and like so many parts of Istanbul, the history behind this and many other buildings is very interesting. The Mosaics must have taken so long but are perfect.
It is a very busy place so recommend getting there early. Best to use a tour guide to have direct access rather than standing in long queue.

Beautiful on the inside and outside. You do need to dress modestly. However, they will provide something to cover if you do not have clothes that go to the ankles and wrists.
