Could be a really good hostel - lovely building and central but
Unclean and bed bugs. Kitchen messy and with a lot of expired foods.
WiFi really slow - even at 3 or 4am
Laundry 4$ to wash and 4$ to dry
    Will not be returning

Horrible. Staff unfriendly and rude. I booked a dormroom and They made me sleep on the leaving room for the first night because they were full and made me paid an extra 6$ for that!! Dont go there you will regret it!!

Didn't expect anything glamorous given the price. The location is perfect, right in the city centre next to the sky tower and all the shops.

The staff that work on reception are pretty annoying. Every time you go up and ask them to help you out or carry out a request for you they always make you sit down and wait rather than dealing with you straight away like a normal hospitality establishment. They don't provide early check-in, so if you are like us who arrived at 6am in the morning after a long flight with no sleep, its a pretty long wait til 12.30. And when i say 12.30, they mean 12.30, no one minute before. SO ANNOYING.

The pillows are the worst pillows i have ever slept on. They are so thin, there is barely any point having one. The toilets and showers either don't lock or are a real struggle to lock. These are basic requirements for a hostel that should be fixed.

The most disappointing thing about this place is that when we asked if we could get prove of address to take to the bank to open up an account they wanted us either to pay for a full week or pay $30. People who are just trying to make money out of every situation are total parasites on society. What ever happened to acts of kindness and just helping people out? Its barely any extra effort for them to provide you with a letter with an address on. Exploiting backpackers in this situation is disgusting. I have never experienced this from any other country or hotel before. SHAME ON YOU SURF N SNOW. SHAME ON YOU.

Stayed here for quite a while, so there are many cons.
The kitchen is shared however the fridges are over flowing with expired foods and the stoves don't function properly. There are also many flies and cockroaches around the food shelves.
The rooms I stayed in have no Windows and there was no working air conditioning so there was always a smell lingering which the cleaners could never remove.
The toilets and showers are suitable but could be cleaner.

The pros however are that it's very central and close to the casino and the liquor stores. Close to public transport and the Sky Tower. The staff are very friendly but they do need to be trained and become more efficient. (English skill is sometime weak, especially with Japanese staff - very hard to communicate to the cleaners).

It is a good place to party and drink and make new friends. Budget accommodation for a penny wise traveller.

This place has potential to be a decent hostel

Dirty kitchen and living room. Crazy TV room with no working TV. Pool table in living/reception room (coins needed, bad quality table). Nice and familiar atmosphere, mostly nice people - I enjoyed my stay. Alcohol allowed :)

I was charged $10 by the manager for a single sheet of paper with proof of address on it, which was written out quite begrudgingly. $4 PER HOUR (?!) for wifi that barely even works. Dingy dirty rooms. 1 star is generous.

DO NOT STAY THERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO FIND YOUR LUGGAGE IN BIN BAGS

I checked out of the hostel and left all my luggage in the luggage room. It cannot be locked but I did that in so many hostels before. I came back to pick up my stuff and got a heart attack as the room was completely empty. I went to the police and reported it. When I came back to the hostel the assistant manager was in. He was not helpful at all and said we can not look at 8 hours of video footage.I insistent on watching every minute and he finally agreed. What I saw on there was absolutely SHOCKING
Manager Mohammed the probably worst manager in the world said to the cleaners to take EVERYTHING out of the luggage room and put it in BIN bags. My stuff has been in there for 8 hours and the clothes, electronics and diaries were worth about a $1000.
In the heaviest rain I went out searching the BIN bags which were already in the street ready for pick up. I found all my stuff in there and could not believe it. Mohammed had no excuse. This hostel needs to be shut down.

    DO NOT GO THERE

Ok place to stay but don't have high expectations. Location is great but rooms could be better. Kitchen it good though. We had a problem when checking in and were told our reservation hadn't come through and they didn't have a room for us. Man behind the counter wasn't very good at English and wasn't much help but he called the manager who was extremely helpful and apologetic. He organized us a room and gave us free wifi for our troubles.

Checked as I thought I would've seen snow in this place. Only thing I got was crystal meth from the brunette girl at reception no wonder she loves the place. Also the surfboard I was offered wasn't very good. Cockroaches in reception bed bugs in some random girls bed I met on the stairs. Bathrooms disgustingly dirty the street would've been better to shower in. All in all I should've just slept outside the and bank. But could i get the brunettes number as the meth has worn off.

    Worst hostel ever.
The bathroom is completely dirty, the rooms have been cleaned like 3 years ago, we had bed bucks and the kitchen is just disgusting.
It is beyond compare and I will never come back again
Good thing, the guy at the reception was nice.
Totally overpriced because you should earn money for every hour you spend here, not pay it !!

Booked very last minute, had to wait a little to be served on arrival but was otherwise ok. Bare necessities, room I stayed in had pipes with a lot of water noise, not for you if you find it tough to sleep with a lot of ambient noise. Pretty good security procedures.

Such a bad experience in this backpackers. We took it because it was the cheapest but it's a big mistake. Our room had NO WINDOW (!!!!), it's just four walls and an uncomfortable bed. Walls are so thin that you can hear the other person breathe in the room next door. You just have one hour wifi per day (for more you have to pay) and it's a very bad connection. You have to pay for services that are free in other backpackers. We do not recommend this place.
