This place is disgusting. Mould, run down, smoke butts on the deck, beds are extremely old and I'd rather sleep on the floor which is concrete. Pool isn't working and no discount given. The list goes on on how bad this place is.

We had a great stay and we wanted to return for the next few weeks but the South African lady was an absolute nightmare to deal with after she overcharged us and took 3 days to try and get the money back with half a dozen separate arguments with her only concern of being correct and least concern of getting our money returned. Very sad and poor effort to represent the business she was placed in charge of . Otherwise most warming place to stay at and the guy and other reception lady were super pleasant to deal with .

We were booked in to this motel and prepaid for three nights for a room with disability access and facilities.The room was filthy,and when I approached the bed a large cockroach scuttled across the floor. On pulling back the bedding I noticed several hairs on the bottom sheet which I photoraphed. I rang reception next morning and politely explained our displeasure . The woman' response was a tirade of abuse and I was told we had to be out by 10am as we were only booked in for one night . We left shortly after that and booked into VR Takapuna where the faciilities and service were superb. I need to note also that the bathroom facilities at Parklane for someone in a wheelchair were nonexistant. There was no shelving in the bathroom and the towels were sitting on a rusted chipped shower stool. Unfortunately we had not read previous reviews. I believe this place is doing NZ tourism a great disservice and I am ashamed that this type of accommodation is being offered to overseas tourists because the photos are extremely deceiving.

Filhy motel. Embarrassed that this is the standard some motels are at in NZ, poor tourists. Should have no star rating and should be closed down.

The room was ok. We had clean sheets but it was tired. The most difficult part was being left out in the cold with my disabled son in Auckland with nowhere to go because we arrived after the office was closed. No apology and no refund and told we were lucky we weren't being charged the full price. The room we were then put in had no hot water. I had to shower my disabled son in cold water and when I spoke to the management on the 4th occasion I was told everyone else had hot water and it was an old building and there was nothing they could do about it. DO NOT STAY HERE!

If you can 0 star a rating this is what I would give. What a hovel, dirty, un maintained and I felt unsafe. My stay was in two rooms as the first had no working a/c and was a dirty hole, the move to the second room to my astonishment was even worse. How do these people stay in business I wouldn't even walk barefoot on the ripped stained carpets let alone have a shower with nothing on my feet. I took so many photos but have only posted the worst two (changed my mind and added more). Do not stay in this motel

Cigarette butts, broken glass on the balcony, room infested with ants. Then staff kindly put me into a different room that had mold all over the walls. No sound blocking between room and bugs. Small tv and the air conditioning didn't work. Under the stairwell, of the main hall way, was filled with old moldy tipped out carpet. When I checked out I was greated, eventually by a guy in pajamas, who could not print me a invoice. This is the most neglected accommodation I have ever been to in nz.

Worn out rooms- dirty mouldy shower - blocked bathroom sink. Tiny tv with only 4 working channels. The microwave still had remnants of the last person who used it - the iron burn on the worn carpet just gave it that touch of uniqueness. The bed was real average On the plus side the staff were friendly and it's in a good location. The pictures look nice I've paid a lot less and got a better looking room - I guess it reminded me of why I normally don't bother with motels-

I don't know what people are complaining about. This place is really good. Staff is super friendly and the room is tidy and nice.
