The view from our room was outstanding! I particularly loved sitting in front of the gas fireplace, having a glass of baileys and looking at the snow capped peaks of the Remarkables. The staff were so friendly and always willing to help. I would come here again with no hesitation.
Amazing place to stay. Picture perfect view and good place to relax for those who love chilling in the balcony.
Dirty duet (brown skin staining!) , fridge didn't work (we had to change rooms), heater broke down (was replaced with a broken portable!) , 3 broken cups ( replaced with another broken cup!), flickering bedroom light (advised this is normal), dishwasher just kept going ( over 8 hours), office person did not know where the lifts were, carpets were fraying (tripping hazard in first roon ) , we had to wait for our room as it was not ready ( we were so tired) and very dirty shower (which they bleached after we complained- still dirty!) Unacceptable
5-star view.
But don't expect a 5-star service. You pick up your own towels from the reception and the hotel do not have on site restaurants. It's not a deal breaker though. I would still recommend to anyone who wants a lake view in Queenstown because this hotel has them. Get room 901 to 905. They all faces the lake and room 901 means it is on the highest floor. Absolute stunning views with hourly complimentary shuttle service to the city.
Some of the amenities in the room include a washing machine, dryer, oven, microwave and a working fireplace. The spa option allows you to dip into a hot tub outdoors while overlooking the lake in the day or gazing at stars at night. Both are sound options.
Remember when you book your accommodation in Queenstown and want a room with view, you need to book the ones on the same side as Oaks. That means if you are heading into the town, it's on your left. The ones on the right are separated by a highway and boy the traffic is heavy.
Some other hotels which I thought was interesting is the Crowne Plaza and Rees.
Great view is the biggest upside, large rooms are the close second, lots of parking spaces being the third. Bad sides: no staff between 8pm and 7am, no restaurant or bar on the premises. Overall good experience, though.
We had a lake view 2 bdrm apartment. It was comfortable, clean and spacious. The view is amazing. The shuttle to town centre was handy. Friendly service. Gym equipment needs to be upgraded. Sauna was out of order
Deceiving booking process. $260 buys a standard room with a glimpse view of the lake. Need to buy a two bedder at $400+ to get a view. What's the point of staying on lake, without s lake view?? Crazy pricing for a 4 star out of season. There must be better options!
Great apartment, stunning views, great staff
I absolutely love this place. I have stayed here 4 years in a row for a few reasons:
- the view
- the jacuzzi
- clean and warm rooms
- peace and quite yet still a short walk from the town
