The best experience I had in NZ. Very informative guide who knows the glaciers & icebergs at his fingertips.
We were unsure if this was going to be worth the high price but it absolutely was. Stunning walk to the boat then very detailed guide up close to Tasman Glacier, New Zealand's biggest.
I don't recommend anyone with kids or elders should join a glacier trip with a company named "GLACIER EXPLORERS" at Mt Cook, Lake Pukaki, New Zealand. (you can find this company from FB)
I joined the glacier trip with my kid in Jan 2017. There was a rude bus driver named Rochelle. This rude driver also work as a guide asked my kid to walk close to group. Rochelle even said if my kid cannot walk as fast as the group, I have to carry him on this rocky road which is very easy to trip over, she completely ignore client safety. Also, she said I only have 2 choices, 1) carry him; 2) go back to the bus and cannot join the tour. She only wanted the tour finish asap and she can finish off her duty.
I can't believe that the staff is that unprofessional and rude to client.
I definitely not recommend this trip and this company with such kind of staff with this attitude
We joined the tour in September 2015, it was the 3rd day since the tour reopened for spring. While the $155 fee per person is a bit on the high side, but it was well worth it. The tour leader was very knowledgeable and passionate about the glacier. Not only we get to see the glacier ice up close, we also get to taste it. As a result of global warming, the glacier is retreating rapidly, so please don't let the price stop you, experience it while you can.
認識冰河的機會是熱帶國家沒有的機會。
Wicked boat trip. Easy walk to the jetty
Jerry the skipper was very knowledgeable of all the scenery
Can get great photos of all the surrounding mountains glacier and icebergs
Definitely a must do while in the mt cook national park
