The staff at the cafe was rude and very inefficient
Its not peak hour and Told me to wait 15 minutes when ordering. Check with them at 30minutes wait and they told me she said they need 10 more minutes where turns out waiting for 45 minutes.

Went there during the Starlight Festival, so context was a bit different, but it has a very nice planetarium and an interesting exhibit. Café can get very busy and was expensive. There is however a nice convenience/gift shop with a lot of nice souvenirs and some basic food and everyday items. Very handy.

Paid for entry and watched Sir Edmund documentary i could/should have stayed and watched more but was only resting between hikes! Havent tried to find the documentary elsewhere. Museum is informative without being too much too take in. Covers a good range of history of the ascents of Mt. Cook as well as Sir Edmunds legacy. Id recommend if its raining, your tired from walking or you cant see much else to do in town!

I liked the visitor centre overall, but the cafe is quite mediocre and they made horrible Vienna coffee, so maybe just stick to cappuccino

Great history, wonderful exhibits and films detailing his life and the climb. Nice cafe with snacks as well. Very up-to-date and modern museum and exhibits.
