Great rooms. No AC just window's. The couch was a fold out bed as well. You can easily hear people above you walking around as well.
Had a motel room at the bottom of the hill, it's a beautiful area, but is very busy at times as tour buses come through. The rooms are spacious and quiet, great views from anywhere here. It's a short walk up the hill on a gravel path to the main place where tours go from.
The hotel is a bit old but the room is satisfactory, and clean. It is close to all trails. It has communal kitchen and a restaurant on site. There is a vending machine. Room is well maintained, provided with amenities and warm during the night.
Nice place, make sure you book upstairs room tho as floor ones might be noisy at night.
Otherwise nice place to visit.
Stayed one night at shared room, 4 beds ensuit. Mattress on top bunk bed was too thin, specially in the middle when I lay down, which make me uncomfortable to sleep on. Asked for switching to another mattress but rejected. Sound isolation between floors is so poor I could hear every foot step and toilet sound on the room above. If you stay, get a room upper stairs. 5 NZD for 1 day wifi. Excellent with a bathtub in the bathroom but bathroom is old and worn out need some refreshing.
Absolutely amazing room was beautiful and warm on arrival on a cold snowy night ad to have a spa in the room was fantastic so so happy with the room .
Very economical deal. Good view. Suit for small family and budget backpacker. Not a bad choice!! Have communes kitchen for cooking.
Nice clean motel rooms..
But a charge for WiFi / Internet access? Wake up management.. It's not an "optional extra" in these times.
Lift your game..
We had two different booking for 2 nights stay at the motel and both were greatgreat atmosphere at the foot hills of mount cook itself with a perfect view
Worthwhile staying in the newly renovated rooms They have a stove and oven so make sure you get supplies before heading into mount cook There are only a few places to eat and there aren't really any supplies ( the Hermitage has very basic supplies if you can even call it that). If you want to do laundry make sure you bring lots of $2 coins as it is $4 for laundry and the same for dry.
Great location, few minutes drive from Hooker Valley Track. Had pizza from the cafe, incredibly cheesy but still tasty.
Room was very clean, showers were good as well.
We stayed in the motel and everything was very well maintained. We loved every detail of the unit. It was modern and everything looked very new. Our only complain is the price of the place and the crazy amount of insects that were flying into our units. But otherwise, good location for anyone who wants to stay in mount cook (which we highly recommend).
