Have eaten here from time to time and found it oksome stuff really nice, some stuff ho hum.but was so unimpressed to find that $5.80 was charged for a small lemonade!! Bad rip off seem to have put the prices up a lot and so the money didn't go far

It's a bar at night and a restaurant by day. Trendy decoration and yummy food. Staff was friendly and the overall experience is a good one

Blankenberge Cafe was okay. We went on Monday evening for the mussel special - $13 for 1 kg of mussels. I can't lie, it's a great deal! However, we ordered the mussels with blue cheese sauce and honestly, you couldn't taste the sauce at all. It just tasted like plain mussels. In addition, the service was not very good. It took AGES for the waitresses to bring water to the table, even after I asked twice. I would go back for a beer (because I like the European ambiance) but it's not on my list to go back for food any time soon.

Just had dinner at Blankenberge Belgian Beer Cafe, and I am never one to review but for the first time in my life I felt an obligation to make sure no other person pays for such an awful meal. I paid $27.00 for the calamari. The dish was 6 small pieces of calamari (around a 50 cent piece size) and a bowl of fries with a side salad around half a fist size. I could not believe the meal. There are so many options to eat out in Takapuna, please don't make the mistake of eating here. Its not worth it. Trust me.
