Dim sum is best here in Auckland CBD. Enough distance to feel as if you have left the Queen Street scene. The lady owner there is always polite and courteous, even though her young staff members need a reminder every now and then not to be rude to customers. I always take family and relatives here for a reliable meal.
Stopped by for a late yum cha (2pm) since it was open the latest. The food came out on trays rather than trolleys so there wasn't as much selection when they stopped at the tables. We were also passed a few times so we ended up just ordering items.
Food was nice. It probably would have been busier with more variety closer to lunch time.
We went to Pearl Garden for Yum-Cha. Booking was easy, service was swift and very friendly, food was fantastic and reasonably priced. We never felt hurried, and our kids were welcome. We will definitely be coming back!
Excellent yumchar, dishes are delicious. Atmosphere is lovely. Very busy - we walked in off the street and were lucky to get a table, would recommend booking ahead.
Beautiful decor in a central location. Very easy to get to. This place is pumping! Excellent service and top notch food which attracts a huge crowd during peak hours. Of the many yum cha restaurants we frequent, Pearl is definitely very high up the list. Make sure you book in advance as this restaurant is extremely popular and walking in usually results in a disappointingly long wait. Great prices and outstanding flavours. Will definitely be back very soon. (One star down because I saw a waiter leave the bathroom without washing his hands)
Pearl is my go to and I'm sure it is for many others. Walking in during lunch is hectic, make sure you book early to avoid disappointment. They have got great variety of dishes that are all on point in flavour. I always put in a small order of dishes I know I want so I don't miss out. Pearl is well worth it, I always leave satisfied and happy.
Their baked pork buns are so delicious! Ice cream balls come with chocolate sauce. Sometimes hard to get a table, so try to book ahead! We were cramped out on the balcony and some food didn't get to us. Would like to dishes their BBQ pork was a bit cold and had a random peanut in it
Really great quality food and fast service. The waitresses are accommodating and hot tea at your table is promptly topped up. A couple of items do need to be specially ordered that may not be ordered at other yum Cha restaurants, for example the egg tart, but it is worth the order as they come out hot and crispy to be enjoyed straight away. A little pricey but good food. Recommend to book
The Dim Sum dishes placed out for the lunchtime sitting are delicious. The quality is always excellent. This is your perfect lunchtime for something different in Newmarket.
Best ambiance of all CBD yumcha. Excellent shumai!
Pricing was reasonable - came to less than $20 each for 5 people.
Very authentic, delicious and well priced. Very good serving sizes too. I need not say more!
We had been eating here for over 20 years, same good quality yum char. Owned by the same family since the beginning, very good family owned and operated restaurant. They do know their customers and care about the food they serve.
Took one star, not because of food or service. It is because the sparrows do come in to the restaurant often during the day.
Excellent service and very tasty yum cha. Gets very busy on the weekend, book ahead or be prepared to wait. Reasonable prices for a group, we came in a group of 5 and it worked out to about ~$20pp for a LOT of food.
