We booked 2 nights and got an email saying that we would have to move rooms the 2nd night because of construction. It's a self check in and out hotel. Stay would have been fine if they had a room for us upon arrival. We checked the lock box for the first night. No key. So we checked the lock box for the 2nd night. No key. So we called and someone showed up and put us in a room. She said she would let us know in the morning if we would have to change rooms. So the next day we went out because no one came by. That afternoon she walks into our room without knocking and looking surprised. Then she says we need to move to the original room. But it's not cleaned yet. So she says we can leave our stuff there. The second room they moved us to looked and smelled like a fraternity had a party in it. They did clean it up nicely like she promised. The hotel would have been fine if they had a room for us. It would have been fine if they left us in the same room. It could have been fine. But it wasn't. The lady was nice enough and tried to fix everything. But someone messed up on the reservations. Rooms were great and plenty of room. Tvs didn't work in both rooms. The floors in the bathroom were heated. The best part, there's an unrelated bar downstairs. Best bar in Bergen. Nice little dive. Bartenders are friendly and great young crowd.
Cheap. Our room was with private bathroom and kitchen
In our room most of the light we not working.
No active ventilation in bathroom.
Every hour a strange beep sounded, not sure where it came from.
I didn't plan to stay here to be honest. We came here because we went to Bergen relatively spontaneously and couldn't get a nicer place on short notice. The location is good. There is no staff on site and the rooms are dated. Not the cleanest hotel either. Still, it is very cheap so I want to be fair. If you're looking for something affordable and your standards are not too high, this place will be for you. Otherwise book somewhere else if you can. It wasn't a nightmare experience, okay, but more than three stars wouldn't be justified.
This hotel isn't glamorous in any way. There's no receptionist or active staff. Instructions are sent via email and signs are posted on the wall that instruct how to get the key from a small locker. It felt reminiscent of solving a puzzle in an Escape Room. The interior has visible signs of neglect, letters missing from text decor, open holes in ceiling, unfinished closet. Room is very basic but was surprised to see it furnished with an electric stovetop, mini fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and sink. To sum it up, very basic but gets the job done. Would only recommend to those who aren't bothered by imperfections. Was the cheapeast in Bergen we could find and was relatively close to the Bergen train station, fish market, and the funicular.
Positive stay.
The rooms were clean. Everything worked well for what was to be expected. The beds are small though and the room looks like budget quality.
Conclusion: the hotel did meet my expectations.
Confusing check-in process (this may have been due to booking it through our credit card rewards), staff was helpful though. Very basic room with awful lighting. TV started making humming noise after being on for a few minutes. Great location though and just about least expensive option in Bergen. We had a car and had to park it in a paid parking garage so beware.
Hotel con check in automatico, ambiente un po' triste, letti comodi, bagno in camera. Una sistemazione economica in ottima posizione tra la stazione e il brygge. Che non è poco. Senza colazione, consiglio il vicino cafè misjonen
