Been here quite often. Food is always great. Beautiful building and terrace in the garden that's fantastic in summer. The place can be a bit busy, resulting in waiters not spotting you very fast, but they're always friendly and attentive.

Stayed there for three nights in the family room which is on the ground outside of the gardens. A bit disappointed that there are no rooms in the tower that sleep more than 2 people. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The grounds were impressive and garden areas very well maintained. The atmosphere is fun and vibrant. The selection in the market in terms of food is very limited. The room was spacious and very large bathroom. The bunk beds are very high up and felt a bit uncomfortable leaving the kids to sleep up there alone as the rail isn't very large. The beds above in the bunk were too firm and hard for me, while the ones below were too soft. Didn't really have a good sleep on either bed and woke up with a sore back each morning. My wife and kids didn't so it's probably fine for most people. Overall enjoyed the place but not quite perfect.

Excellent food, friendly staff, great ambiance. Not too expensive. A lot of the ingredients are grown in the garden outside the hotel and restaurant. The chocolate cake is amazing.

Situated in an old power transformer facility, just outside the city centre, Villa Augustus boasts a beautiful view on the skyline, a garden in which they grow mostly edibles and an interesting architecture, all wrapped into a modern, retro style dress up. The vintage/ industrial look and feel of the place go remarkably well with the organic image of the garden and the surroundings. Service has always been to my satisfaction and so have both food and drinks. The place is rather crowded lately, but one can hardly blame the Villa for that. Make sure you call ahead of you're banking on a spot, especially outside.

Fresh vegetables for sale are always of superb quality. Their home baked bread, pies and cookies have that extra realness that's hard to describe.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Stunning revamped industrial building with beautiful, productive gardens surrounding it. The rooms have exposed wood and cast iron fittings and enjoy wonderful views over the garden.
Food is delicious with lots of herbs and vegetables fresh from the garden.response / report this review
