Writing this review sitting in the lounge during evening happy hour. The room we got was not large but nicely furnished. Breakfast spreads were kind of limited though. Service was very good by the front desk, the lounge attendants and the house keeping staff. Location is central and 8 minutes walk to the central train station and 10min to the Dam square. Overall a good choice to stay in Amsterdam.
Nice hotel. Little expensive for what you get. Paid extra for access to business lounge which was pretty good. Had an excellent breakfast. Rooms were small, and the shower temperature was never consistent. Staff were great, always greeting you and willing to help.
This is a wonderful hotel, with an amazing staff. It could use a little updating in the rooms, but the staff more than make up for anything that they may be lacking. The showers may not be exactly what you are used to, if you are American, but it gets the job done. The restaurant downstairs is also really nice. Not your typical hotel microwave meals at all. I've stayed here twice, and plan to again.
Can't beat the location, but the hotel is in need of a desperate makeover. Elite benefits are few and far between. The club lounge rooms are tiny with solo occupancy bathrooms and low ceilings. Club lounge is decent. No chance of an upgrade as a platinum member to any thing larger. At this price point, you're better off staying at the W. I can't wait till SPG and Marriott fully merge their programs.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The bath tubs with shower are small if you're lucky to get one. Some room views are great, some, not so much. Walking distance to Metro Amsterdam Centraal station, Museums, Red Light district, etc. The 2b lounge bar in the lobby is nice, low key, good drinks and food.
Great location, clean, friendly staff. The navigators are what earns this hotel the 5th start! If you want to truly experience hidden gems of Amsterdam, ask then what to see/do.
This hotel was wonderful! The front desk staff were on top of everything from the moment we arrived. We arrived at about 7:10 AM and figured we'd store our luggage but they had our room all ready and allowed us to check in. We were able to freshen up after an all night flight
The concierge was very knowledgeable and helpful with excursion tips, great restaurants, directions etc.and you could tell that they know and love their city.
We did have breakfast with the hotel a few days and also enjoyed their restaurant and we received a discount for patronizing them.
The bed was very comfortable and the room was very nice.
My only complaint was the water in three y shower did not maintain constant temperature, it went from very warm to cool and back again many times.
The location is excellent, near the train station and within walking distance of the whole city really but they have bikes or Uber if you need to get somewhere faster.
Nice hotel near the train and touristy stuff. Good size clean rooms. Breakfast in the mornings is tasty and plentiful. Generally quiet. Will probably stay here again.

A very good business hotel located close to the central train station. Service was impeccable, both by the check-in staff (who allowed me to get to my room way earlier than I expected) and by the concierge staff (very good suggestion about where to buy almost anything). The club lounge is well staffed and the food there was abundant and fresh. The room where I stayed was small but very comfortable. I was in a tight schedule in Amsterdam and this hotel was a perfect option for a quick exploration of the city.
Place looks nice, clean, helpful and friendly staff, executive lounge, fitness center. Great location, near the center and train station.
All rooms are single, only few rooms with double beds and they call them "family rooms". Rooms are small, so are the bathrooms.

Fantastic hotel super close to Centraal Station (5 min walk). Great staff. Older hotel but good size clean rooms. Executive lounge staff and service is wonderful. Restaurant staff always friendly and accommodating...just great. One of my favorite hotels in the world!
Have stayed at the Renaissance Amsterdam several times now with a very consistent, pleasant experience each time. actually, the first time that I stayed here the hotel was named the Amsterdam Sonesta, and then it joined the Renaissance family.
Still chuckle about the first time I stayed here; the front desk provided my key and I proceeded to the room, only to find a completely nude 20-something young lady standing in the middle of the room as I walked in. She did not seem to mind... just smiled...
I excused myself and went back down to the desk, letting them know that the 'occupant' had not yet vacated. They apologized and offered a free buffet breakfast, which really was outstanding, and then came to find me 45 minutes later or so to say that the room had been vacated and that housekeeping had completed their efforts.
That room, and each of the rooms (they describe them as suites, both the "executive" and "presidential" units) that I have stayed in since, was of nice size. Housekeeping does a fine job, too.
One of the main benefits of staying here is the location. Very easy walk to many places including clubs, museums, shops, restaurant ans the train station.
Very nice place to stay in the heart of Amsterdam. Occasionally a wonderful extra bit of scenery in the room...!
The location is great for exploring the city. Very near Central station as well if you wish to make day trips out of the city. Rooms are clean and nice. Staff are friendly. Great buffet breakfast.
