I cannot recommend VillaTortugas highly enough!
The couple who owns the property have an easy-going and kind demeanor. They were always checking in to see if we were comfortable during our stay and were well accommodated with food, daily cleaning of the room and free water.
We had a kitchenette a triple bedroom and airconditioning with a fan for a very good price!
Also there was lots of wildlife which made for a chorus of birdsong in the mornings. You're a short colectivo bus ride from the downtown super market to get food, and its wonderful to take a break out by the beach; to enjoy the sun and snorkel with the sea turtles.

Superbe endroit loin de la zone touristique mais suffisamment proche des plages pour profiter des Caraïbes comme il se doit. L'accueil est très chaleureux et les bungalow disposés dans un jardin luxuriant sont équipés très confortablement. Vous avez à votre disposition une kitchenette avec ce qu'il faut pour vous faire un petit déjeuner à prendre sur votre terrasse privative. Nous y avons passé un très agréable séjour et profitez de la piscine et du calme.

The place is awesome! And the people that manages it (David and his wife) really makes your stay pleasant they are very warm and helpful. Great great value. You can go very easily either to Tulum or Playa del Carmen, or just visit Akumal beaches. It's also very well suited for relax if you don't want to go out that much. I would definitively recommend this place.

This place was awesome. Beautifully located, with nice pool. We have medium bungalow with beds. Small kitchen bht fully equipped (toaster, coffe machine, lots of fresh watet, breakfast waiting in fridge, juice and cuttlery).
