Nice property, beautiful grounds. Larger property with lots to do. Rooms are beautiful with large tubs for 2. Service is outstanding. Beach area was expensive and had plenty of room. Seaweed was bad in April.

Great vacation.. personnel are friendly daily pool activities n night time show.,Restaurants have good food especially Mari Maria. Shops are blocks away from Royal for gifts.,all around nice vacation.. Only 1 disappointing thing was the hotel gives you either a hat t shirt or tote bag saying Playa del Carmen.,My friend got the bag I couldn't? Only one was allowed per Whatever..Stingy of the Royal.. I guess they are not familiar with customers being satisfied..Also watered down alcohol if you drink but clean n friendly Hotel.

My friend and I had a wonderful time at The Royal. The resort staff and restaurant staff were very nice. Our room was very neat and clean. The Beach and pool area were beautiful! I would definitely return and stay at the Royal in the future!

We loved our vacation here. There was nothing that I had any complaints about at all. The staff was extremely friendly. The food was exceptional every time we ate at one of their restaurant. The room was perfect and our pool outside our room was the perfect temperature and we enjoyed having the swimout very much we would do that again. I had a great time going into the ocean you could see to the bottom and it was warm. I love the room service at on the beach. The food was abundant and the beverages were abundant. Every single restaurant and place to get food was exceptional. I would give my vacation 5 Stars + and I will go back there again for sure.

My stay at The Royal was great. My suite always clean and the fridge was well stocked. The king size bed was comfortable and the staff is exceptional. They are kind, polite and very hard working - even polite to those that mistreat them and don't deserve their kindness. The restaurants have a good variety of foods and bars made every drink my wife requested. I would recommend this resort to ppl looking for an all inclusive vacation.

This was the nicest hotel I have EVER stayed at. Everything was 5 stars from the staff to the rooms. All the rooms have a hot tub in the room and that was nice. Some of the rooms have their own private pools outside their balconies. The rooms were very clean and staff was always quick to attend to you should you need anything. I loved that it was all inclusive especially come night time when it was late and we were hungry and could order room service at no extra cost. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Playa. The restaurant choices are great and there are bars everywhere. I will definitely stay here if I ever go back to Playa.

Staff is amazing! What a caring , friendly, hard working group of people! The Royal has great food, beautiful accommodations and is pristine. The housekeeping staff kept our room immaculate and we loved the extra touches—towel animals and rose petals. My only grievance is that the fridge in our room was not cool enough and for a 5 star resort, I expected to have top shelf liquor and wine ensuite. I’d stay here again. High five to the activity and gym staff along with all of our amazing waiters.

The Royal is an all inclusive "resort" in Playa. Very upscale in appearance. Good service from employees. There are multiple restaurants on site and the location makes access to other Playa restaurants and activities very easy.

So why 3 stars not more? As a Playa resident and a global traveler, I see this resort and associated amenities as nice, just not really outstanding. Furthermore, I brought my wife to the resort for an American style breakfast at the Spices restaurant and was turned back - only for resort guests! Later I was told that if we bought two full day passes to the entire resort we could have come in. Irritating moron management.

What a wonderful resort and a fantastic experience! We booked our honeymoon through Sun Country Vacations, and it was a dream. My husband and I couldn't say enough about the property itself (very modern, extremely clean, and in good condition) as well as the friendly and helpful staff, and delicious food. We ate multiple times at every restaurant on property, and were never once disappointed. Our corner oceanfront One Bedroom Master Suite no doubt had the most terrific view on property. We will certainly be return guests in the future!

Very disappointed. Very small, not clean, very very loud 24/7 so couldn't sleep at night. Restaurants are smaller than other resorts and the food selection was very narrow. The only good thing was they have a big jacuzzi in the room. We booked for 9days but then cancelled for the rest of days on the first night to go back to our regular resort. I do not recommend this place.

I'll tell you one thing! If you want to be treated like king and queen, I'll highly recommend to go here as vacation. Have jaccuzi in every hotel room, with balcony and large bed. I love their pillows, it smells so good and fresh. Didn't want to get up in the morning. The bed is so comfortable. Drinks and food is included, service is excellent and friendly. It's one of the best resort I've been to. I'll definitely visit again next year.

We have been here several times and cannot wait to go back! The drinks are top shelf, there are a ton of food options, rooms are gorgeous with a tub, staff is excellent, entertainment is better than I've seen elsewhere, and game room is fun. My only complaint is the location of the pool bar- I wish it was more centrally located and tends to be too cold over there. We love that when things wind down for the night, we can walk right out into Playa del Carmen. The location is the best!

This hotel was amazing. It was beautiful clean and the staff was very nice. The pools are great the food was so much better then I thought it would be. There was nothing my boyfriend and I did not like. My only complaint would be there's not much of a night life. The shows are good but after it ends there's nothing to do. The hotel is located right by all the shopping so you can just walk. I would recommend this hotel to everyone

Absolutely top-of-the-line incredible service. The beach is also very nice and pretty, The food is above average not incredible. Anytime I went to go do something like put up a drink or throw something away, a very nice gentleman would bring my girlfriend a drink and stay with her until I got back, the staff did it every time. There were a couple things wrong with the room, once we told them about it they put us right near the beach at no extra cost. The restaurant staff, the concierge's, busboys all part of the best service I've ever had in my life. As a matter fact I've been a lot of places and have never experienced service this professional and 100% on point. We walk the strip outside the resort, had a great time, went to other restaurants and clubs. I will definitely be back.

The food and the service were incredibly good, security was both subtle and very effective. Resort is right on the beach and I would recommend either a beach view or beach front room. House keeping came several times a day and the room was kept spotless, towels were replaced at least twice a day which we really appreciated as we usually showered at least twice a day. The in-room jacuzzi was heavenly and the magic box where you can get room service without having to open the door and greet the staff before having your morning coffee was a life-saver for me.
Most of the restaurants are 5 star and the desserts looked heavenly but lost out to the fresh fruit in the salad bars for me. Try the local fruit picked fresh in season, there is always plenty available. Close to many different attractions and tours can be easily arranged at the resort. There is an outdoor bar near the quiet pool right between a five star restaurant and a coffee shop. For me the highlight of the trip was sitting at the bar drinking Tea while my husband had a Mojito.

LOVE THIS PLACE! I would come back again and again. It's located right off 5th Avenue and safe enough to walk the beach late at night. Amazing food! Amazing staff! Definitely the perfect all inclusive to spend your holiday.

My fiance and visited to decide if we want to get married here, and were impressed. The service is on point and friendly. Highly recommend the upgrade to a master suite for the cabana on the beach and the stocked bar. The resort has a relaxing feel but there is plenty to do. We will definitely be coming back.

I absolutely loved my stay here. Drinks were great, the restaurant choices were awesome! I just wish they played more music throughout the day & had more of a party scene at night after the nightly shows. They did have the club district a couple blocks away, but there were some nights that I just wanted to stay there, drink, & not worry about having to walk back. Overall, my experience was fantastic & I would go again.
