Great place. Really fun. At the end of the day around 6pm they have a Show. its really nice you will enjoy it. Make sure you take good walking shoes, a hat because you will be doing quite some walking and its hot so u will need a hat. **Drink plenty of water** ( bathing suit, &Towle if you plan to get in the water).

The hotel is great! There is lots of wildlife such as iguanas, monkeys, and fish. The snorkeling is one of the best parts of the resort. You can go right off the beach. All of the workers and entertainment staff are nice and polite. Mario was very friendly and gave us information about the shows and activities. I would definitely come back.

Best trip we've ever had! I didn't know there would Spider Monkeys at the resort!! They come out of the trees. Loved the room and River boat ride to the park. The park next door was amazing!! Be prepared and get antibiotics before you go to take while you are there and bring Pepto tablets. That helped. We only ate cooked foods. The staff works very hard to please you so bring a lot of cash for tips..

My best friend an I were fortunate enough to have a stay at this fabulous resort. From the very beginning everything was awesome. Claudia from Social media was a tremendous help answering questions and assisting us when ever needed. She was awesome. She helped us obtain the "UXX" package for the Ecological park next door, what a deal that was! We went to the park almost daily, we swam in the underground rivers, we bought the "Passport" at the park, got the stamps and was given a free T-shirt. The park is amazing, always something to do. We had massages done by Juan and Joshuathose two have magic hands.
We were so relaxed after that we slept by "our" beautiful pool. Our room was perfect, had everything we needed, the housekeeper was very thorough, our room cleaned every day. The concierge in our building was always available to answer questions. The food was very good, the sea food restaurant had the most delicious chicken we went back 3 times! The steak restaurant could use some improvement..the steaks looked nothing like the picture.
All in all, I give this resort 5 stars, the setting is in the jungle with animals everywhere, we watched the monkeys every day. We would definitely go back to this amazingly beautiful resort.response / report this review -

I stayed at this resort for two weeks for my honeymoon. For the most part i enjoyed this resort. The buffet had very good food, it was better than the specialty restaurants and the waiters in the buffet were great. HOWEVER, i had personal belongings stolen out of my room while being cleaned. When we asked house keeping about it they claimed to not know anything about it. I talked to multiple different people regarding this issue and no one ever resolved it or even took the time to look into it. We were told when we left they would investigate the issue and get back to us, but we never heard back from them. Our room was locked, only the maids would go in to clean the room. After we had property stolen, we opted out of the housekeeping for the rest of our stay. if you would like to keep all of your belongings, I would NOT recommend this resort

This hotel is totally fantastic, it's basically a city within a jungle. There are animals all over and places for mccaws to land. They can be a little annoying in the morning but they're great for photos. There's a shallow river that runs through the middle of the hotel full of fish. The hotel provides pellets that you can feed to the fish. The service at the hotel is excellent and the food is great. One thing that you'll have to bring is close-toed shoes as there is a dress code for the restaurants at the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it's right next to Xcaret and you get discounts to the park and it's activities!

This has been my fourth time here and I enjoy it a lot. There’s so much to do and I never get bored. My favorite part would probably be the pools because I love swimming a lot. The employees are very nice and helpful. I met Valeria at first club and she’s was very friendly and introduced me to a bunch of the fun activities to do here. I know that I will definitely returning in the future and I recommend it to anyone trying to make a decision.

Absolutely loved this resort. I surprised my wife for our 1 year anniversary and she loved it. The food was great and I've been to other all inclusive, paid more money and the food was good at best. Everyone is nice and service was good. I really don't have any complaints. The rooms were clean. Plenty of entertainment and lots to discover. My favorite thing about this resort is the area is preserved. It has just about everything from snorkeling, relaxation, games, clubs and beach. The beach is man made but if you swim up you get open water and their are many fishes. Just be careful with everyone trying to get you to buy a timeshare or vacation package. Will be back!

It's a nicely built hotel with a great jungle village concept. Unfortunately the staff lacks customer service training specially in the restaurants and bars. There is a small bay where ocean water comes in but there is no beach as one would usually expect. My wife and me were offered a free upgrade upon arrival which was nice, and I don't know if it is like this in all rooms but in our room which was in the premiere class which is for member only, the bed was not king size as it's usually the case when you go to a Hotel of this sort, it was a double bed. All in all my recommendation would be to spend a bit more and go to better hotel, the difference is not much in price but what you will get for your money is.

This place rocks. I took my mother for a little getaway from Cold Canada, and even it was rainy season we had sun every single day! The hotel is perfect, room service was top class, no problems with missing items or anything like this! No violence on the reserve, people are very friendly! Big selection of food - Mexican , Asian , American , Italian etc.. I want to mention the entertainment team - those ladies and guys are super friendly, always offer cool activities like volleyball , water stretching and Aqua aerobic , beach games, foam party , dancing ! They will always help you with finding your way around the resort etc.

Without a doubt such an amazing experience. The beach, pools with all the activities following it. The bar and the food was exceptional, definitely coming back to this resort. You need extra days to truly take advantage of this hotel. The music and the vibes was definitely a plus but most importantly the employees. Thank you to Crystal Hernandez from the entertainment team that went beyond her way to seriously help up plan something last minute when we were ready to go to bed. Definitely looking forward to my next trip back here! Thank you again for making my trip one of the best ever.

Good place! Only thing i would change is there is no beach. But what they have made is good. I just like looking out to sea and hearing waves. Food is good. Rooms are great. Excellent staff. Entertainment is good. Mario is super friendly

You must come to this resort. The staff are the nicest people and go out of the way to make sure you have a good time. Look for cristal Hernandez and Giovanni for tequila volleyball and archery. Cristal will kick you butt with a bow. The food is great and the resort is too big to see in one day so plan to stay for at least a few. A beautiful terraced beach makes for great relaxing and the theater has a different show every night. Come and enjoy!

Hotel is amazing.
Rooms are very clean, with comfy beds and a well stocked mini fridge.
The staff at the Fun club are great and organise lots of great activities for all the family. From foam parties to aerobics, there is always something to keep u entertained. A big shout out to Mario Perez who has been brilliant with our kids and who taught them some Spanish too!
Good restaurants, always something to chose from, especially Paco's Taco's and the Pizzeria.
Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at the Occidental Xcaret and would highly recommend this hotel.response / report this review -

I attended a sales pitch for the Occidental Vacation club at the hotel. The hotel itself was beautiful and the food was good. I enjoyed how they designed it to feel like it was in the middle of a jungle. I did not feel like a huge hotel, even though it was, but rather a small jungle hideaway.

We stayed at this facility the end of January 2017. On the surface it looked like a wonderful facility. On our arrival we were in formed our group had been split up instead of the same building/s. We were also our they had only 1 room key for our room. Check back the next day they said. We found our room had 2 double beds instead of a king or queen as expected with the "romance package". We were to get wine and candy etc never received anything the entire time. We asked each day for a second key, not possible. We asked to be moved to different room as our air conditioner ran wild and was like a meat cooler. Not possible, even though people were going and coming and we observed empty rooms. No working elevators in the buildings so up and down 3 flights of stairs repeatedly. The only thing they cared about was you going to their sales pitch to buy into the time share. If you refused to go or didn't the service really went down him. The couch in the lobby were covered with black mold. Service in the bars was totally not happening. they were not friendly at all, and poor quality. Food was poor. We asked to get a partial refund as there was so many issues and we never received what we booked. Their only answer is if you agree to come back and spend more money they will give you an upgrade. NOT happening. Do yourself a favor don't go there. It is beautiful but that is where the good ends.

5 Star experiencebutstayed in the Royal section. If I were staying in the main area this would be a 4 star (max) resort just for the terrible beach alone. The beach area is in a terrible location and is a 1 star or 2 if you have small kids, not really on the ocean but in a cove and is very crowded. Food is OK at the main buffets but only tried it once. The main area by the lobby is quite nice with a small canal running through it. But the Royal Experience is definitely worth the upgrade! Private pool which is very quiet and has service while you're lounging, private restaurant with daily specials that is really good. You can have all your meals in this area and the service is fantastic. Mid afternoon there is a tequila tasting with desserts. Rooms are very large and there are hammocks on your private balcony. If you choose this resort, choose the Royal area for a terrific experience, otherwise I wouldn't come here at all unless I had children.

The resort is one of a kind. Very friendly staff and service. The food is amazing and the drink to match. When everyone else's beaches are closed, they have a large variety of pools and their natural beach cove is still open. Something for everyone and especially family friendly, treats the ecosystem with respect and all activities and excursions nearby follow the same theme and fun. My only wish for them to change was less heckling from the time share people, however they are also friendly and despite being sales people, do a great job at making your stay as comfortable as possible. Would recommend to anyone.

Been here twice. Love it. It's FULL of greenery so sometimes you feel like you're in a jungle. Food is pretty good! All staff SO friendly. Always chatting you up no matter what. Oriental A La Carte is the best.
